I've a fledgling Agents army but focused on my GSC/Brood Brothers at this time. The Agents are a great range and almost beg to be converted and customised. They've got such a great look to them and, to my mind, they hearken back to the older John Blanche illustrations. I like the idea that each Rogue Trader or Inquisitor has his or her unique retinue built by their beliefs and experience. I've a jokaero (or however you spell it - orang-utan - just don't call him a monkey or he'll go all Discworld on you) I'll paint up once I am ready to wheel them out. Looking forward to seeing more.3 points -

Agreed, I'm only a bit sad it's come only when army almost complete. And yeah, all barrels are drilled. That's the point of hobby, isn't it? Painting dark green and khaki not fun. At least not in second time. My old army was standard Canadians and it's lead to funny moments, like we play 3k game IG vs IG and turn two we can't understand is it my unit or his.2 points -

A request for feedback and an apology
Domhnall and one other reacted to GSCUprising for a blog entry
Thank you both @Lathe Biosas and @Domhnall. Your time is much appreciated. I've always been a little spare with my writing. I like the idea of a reader thinking for themselves, as opposed to me spoon-feeding them every detail. I see it as a compliment to my readers' intellect. That said, I can see there's always room for improvement, to let the mask slip, as it were. I'll take both your points into consideration when I pick up the pen and paper (or keyboard and screen). Thank you very much. Take a look at the latest entry I penned this eve. Hopefully, it will show another side to the story. OK, OK! I'll have it done week's end. :P2 points -
A request for feedback and an apology
W.A.Rorie and one other reacted to Domhnall for a blog entry
Not sure how much use this is going to be, or if I can convey exactly what I'm thinking, but I think I can understand what is meant by a little stiff. There is a good chunk of the writing is short and sharp, giving the writing a quick pace and moving forward rapidly, at the expense of fluff (character reasoning/world building etc). That's not to say this is necessarily a bad thing! I think it works well for the short snippets type of story you have so far. It'd be more of an issue if/when you wanted to write something a bit longer. You'd need to provide a bit more meat on the story bones, give the reader time to digest and take in what's going on and why. Like I say, I quite like the quick pace and minimal background information on these really short stories, because as the reader I'm well equipped to make assumptions based on what I'm reading and implied context, so I don't need a deep understanding of the why's, just that a thing needs to happen, and it's happening now! Hope this helps.... ?2 points -

GSCUprising and one other reacted to Bouargh for a blog entry
I always wash and brush the resin models. But I suspect the formulation of the Loctite glue I am used to buy has changed. I do use the gel range and it now stincks less cyanoacrylates. Liquid range is still good though. But even if the result is better with liquid range, it is less practical to use... Yet solidity of the bonding with the gel also looks like it is weaker now. Than in my memory.2 points -
Dawn of War: The 13 Month Plan
W.A.Rorie and one other reacted to Grotsmasha for a blog entry
The 2026 12MoH Challenge will be run as a Club, it will however be linked in the WIP Forum (TBC shortly...) for ease of access. Each month you'll need to place a "Vow" pledging at least one model for the month. The Club has been created HERE, and is ready to go for January vows if you so choose. It even has provisions for a "Plodding Along" Vow, which is a slow-burn project completed slowly over the course of the year, the Knight could be appropriate for this.2 points -

Necromunda Redemptionist for the ones with that I painted (that is John Blanche Art work from the Army Painter sets as back drop) and the Cherubs are from Adepta Sororitas Line. The White Backdrop models (not the GSC Goliath truck) are Forgeworld Characters for the Cawdor/ Redemptionist Line. Peach Back ground is an Artel W figure, pre FW release of the Stig Shambler.1 point -

Thank you. Much as I never intended on Laska and the Narrator to get together, this one just felt natural. A few lingering looks, a brush of the fingers over the other's skin...it just worked for me. I must admit, it was a little nerve-wracking writing about it. What do I know about two women in a relationship? The answer is 'very little', which, funnily enough, is also the answer to how much I know about Ratlings. So, I tried to write it so you could substitute either one or both for a different gender and for it to still work. I also ran it past two friends of mine, two women who've been together for 15-odd years and got their approval, which I was very happy about. It's funny how the story sometimes takes on a life of its own. I mean, this originally started out as a GSC story - now it's completely different!1 point -

Getting to that point of happiness with the process and outcome is a great milestone to have crossed as you look at this year’s schedule. And the scheme looks good. It looks like the barrels have been drilled. Am I seeing that right, or is it a visual trick of the paint job / how the guns came off the sprue?1 point -
Worbla is a thermoplastic, so it has different properties when you change its base temperature. In this case, if you heat worbla it goes from being a fairly hard plastic to something much more malleable- you can bend/shape it and even mash it together to sculpt with (though it does lose temp quickly so you have to work fast). It is a product that is used a lot in certain crafting circles, I saw it used in both making custom dolls/action figures and in cosplay. It isn't too expensive to get, and all you need to change it's temp is a heat gun, so it is an effective way to add stuff like skin/clothes to models if you don't want to mess around with actually sculpting with greenstuff/epoxies.1 point

Hmmm... my local Warhammer store says I can't make a pledge to paint unless I bring in unpainted and unassembled models until after January 16th. So, I'm going to simply envision what these guys will look like assembled until then. I did order some bits for soon to be Green Templar Vulkan He'stan.1 point -

Creme heads are too big. Grey are fine. But why you don't like kasrkins heads? There is heads with gasmasks which looks good. Also if you cut off filters you get almost same heads as your grey but fitting perfectly1 point -

Nice work on the KoTR model. I had a similar thought process as you when I started but my test model didn't come out as well as yours so I abandoned them. (I ended up with a Phobos Kill Team but never wanted to expand beyond that). Looking forward to seeing a painted up army!1 point -

Lathe Biosas reacted to GSCUprising for a blog entry
Thank you. I am a big fan of the lore of WH40K,. Its depth spans across of most of my 40-ish lifetime and I really enjoy reading the Black Library stuff. However, my story, which originally started out as a GSC story, has taken its own turn, so it feels more appropriate for it to become its own thing. I'll continue publishing here, but, if I take it elsewhere, it'll be de-40K'd.1 point -

Thank you. I am not sure it was as good as the first time I wrote it, but hard drive packed up. I think ihad some brief dialogue between the Narrator and Kaśnyk. Do you think, rather than all being unspoken, they could speak to each other about who they're after? Nothing fancy, no long speeches, just an understanding between two opposing soldiers.1 point -
