  1. Would merging the look of dark angels and the new black Templar kit look decent?
  2. Oh I didn’t think about dark angels! I assume you mean the bone color termie branch right? Death wing?
  3. I’m thinking of a fun marine project/side force and need advice on what chapter works well with it. Main thing is flavor/rule of cool is the driving force. This is not meant to be a tournament list or anything competition level. It’s really only ever gonna play friendly games with my eldar buddy. The main thing I want is a large amount of blade guard vets. Possibly in several impulsors rhino rush style(I own 3) or running down the field to slice and dice some space elves. Second I love how solid redemptors are and also the warsuit is cool. Besides that I want to stay mainly primaris(vanguard vets could be an exception) and I would like to make the army tough as nails. The fantasy is tough blade guard rushing down the foe along side support dudes like apothecary’s and chaplains while redemptors provide fire support. Because of that I’m thinking iron hands or the newer black Templar but have not looked at marines since the space wolves codex dropped some time ago. Thanks for any tips and reading my unorganized thoughts!
  4. That is a good idea Jugg, the only issue I see is small the bases are. Daemonettes still on 25mm are not leaving much room then figure most models are centered on the bases. Might have to play with the idea more and see what I can make out it.
  5. I think what covers them as far as daemon princes go is that you are limited to 1 per detachment and can only have so many detachments. For the other units mentioned I don’t think there is a clear answer. The chaos book is all messed up with your outdated rubric and plague marines lol. The way I see it is your asking for theoretical rules talk, to that I would say the spirit is to limit spam and to me it seems like rules lawyering to get around it. If your asking because you want to do it on the table your better off asking your local GW/TO/friend group. Cheers!
  6. Is that faq still valid? That was from 8th edition of I recall
  7. I think there is a big issue with people being happy with their own work. We can go anywhere online and se beautifully painted models that just blow you away and can make you less happy with your own work. It’s like looking at profession super models and body builders. It shouldn’t make you less happy with your own work. Secondly do not underestimate the power of painted models together. By buddy bough a bunch of second hand deathwatch that were all painted rather, eh I guess. But when he had them on the table it looked good, and they were all second hand from different people so not even the same paint scheme.
  8. So to each his/her own, but daemons are a horde army. You can easily have up to 100 models on the table and even more in your collection so you are gonna want to develop all the time saving hacks you can. I also live in an apartment so I understand, but spray cans are so fast, you can shake the can while in side(little bit of noise) have the models on top of a box, walk out to the parking lot away from any one/car and spray 10-20 models in about 10 min. He’ll even if you have to drive 15 min away for a clear spot you’ll still be saving time vs priming all the daemons by hand lol. Contrast is amazing like has been mentioned but you’ll still learn things using “normal” paints so it’s not a waste. If you want to see what you can do, search for warhipster on YouTube. He recently has been working on his daemons pushing contrast to its limits to get some damn good models!
  9. Berzul, you should give some of the contrast paints a look. The work great on daemons! Recently started working on mine with contrast as the bases layers they adding detail when I’m ready.
  10. I’d love to see something in the daemon book that allows daemons to be included and not break mono army bonuses. I think that is the main reason we will see daemons not being included. If you want daemons you have to see what roll they fulfill for your army compared to what you lose. And amount of daemons means you lose the whole cabal system.
  11. Oh interesting, so you are suggesting a normal style base just with all the colors mixed up? Follow up question, Khorne and nurgle bases would be pretty easy to recognize, just blood and skulls and messed up plants and toxic swamp. What elements of a base would make you look at them and say slaanesh or tzeentch? I feel these two are a little more abstract.
  12. Does any one have some cool ideas for daemon bases when I play/collect all for gods? I don’t want some boring grey dirt/rock since I think daemons are some of the wackiest armies and can do cool things with them. Yet I don’t want them to look like 4 completely separate armies. Thanks!
  13. All great ideas! I love the look of the beasts of nurgle just not their price to point ratio. I’ll have to play around with these ideas and try that google search you recommended Miek. When I tried all I found where daemon prince conversions.
  14. While I love the beasts of nurgle models, I do not love their price. Does any one have some interesting ideas for conversions? I also have 6 plague drones waiting to be built( already have 5 built so don’t think I need 11 of them) could the bodies be good bases for a conversions? Thanks for any ideas!
  15. I’m not expert, but with the change to no prisoners swarms can give up a lot of secondary points from what I hear.
