Reading the first two HH again?

Imagine Imperium secundus even worked, it would only work within the ruinstorm. Imagine it worked, but then the ruinstorm ended. Before it ended and while the ruinstorm was in place Imperium secundus was acting as it did and how Guilliman wanted it to; however the other half of the galaxy is still acting as usual they know whats happening in that side of the universe, they know if the emperor is alive or not they are in contact with each other through astropathy, so say the Emperor is killed and the throne is taken, everyone in this side of the ruinstorm will know that happened and then when the ruinstorm ends half the galaxy will know the emperor died and they will tell the other half that the emperor died, so then the other half of the galaxy will know that sanguinius isn't actually the emperor and that the triumvirate were lying to them, because sanguinius and the other two Primarchs told them that, but if they find out that the other half of the galaxy know that the emperor actually died on terra they will know that sanguinius, the lion and guilliman were lying. If they know they were lying a) they can't continue to have sanguinius be the emperor knowing that he's dead and they will think that sanguinius the lion and guilliman were trying to usurp the throne, either way Imperium secundus wouldn't have worked. -

Yes they didn't know whether terra and the emperor had fallen but that is irrelevant. You need to re-read my comment. -

Because they wouldn't have been able to keep it secret in the first place, which would lead to the population thinking Sanguinius and the Triumvirate usurped the throne. Yes the galaxy was split in two, but the other half didn't die, Guilliman decided to make a conspiracy of a new Imperium, but that would only last as long as the ruinstorm did, what do you think would happen when (say the emperor was killed and the throne taken) when the ruinstorm ended you'd still have half the galactic population knowing that the emperor died and Sanguinius was a pretender to the throne backed by the triumvirate, then the populus would believe they usurped the throne killed the emperor and tried to take the galaxy for themselves. I mean its hilarious to suggest that plan could have ever haved worked lol. Guillimans gambit was completely contingent on the ruinstorm. All three Primarchs knew the ruinstorm was manufactured. Its just a badly written book, it doesn't make Guilliman any less of a genius as we all know he is that, but that's why that novel was so badly written. -

Totally agree, Imperium Secondus was just so unbelievable. I don't like Guilliman, but to think he'd; have thought of, or implemented, such a ridiculous form of government or substitution was insane and like him or not Guilliman was one of the most intelligent Primarchs of the lot. -

We've just begun to see the "veteran" Primaris units in the form of the Bladeguard kits. It seems likely that GW, having already planned out the Primaris range, has already designed the replacement for Terminators and it is simply a matter of time until we see them get to them in the release schedule. All a mass buying of Terminators might do is accelerate the schedule a bit - there's no need to prompt GW to design a replacement when they've [probably] already done so. Speaking for myself, I already have a ton of Terminators crying out for paint. I don't need to buy any more in some scheme to get GW to adjust their Primaris release schedule. However, I agree with the principle that none of the Primaris releases that we've seen so far are suitable replacements for Terminators. Note that I've merged TorvaldTheMild's topic about Primaris replacements for Terminators with the ongoing "Primaris Next Wave" discussion since there is so much overlap between the two discussions (i.e., wish-listing for additional Primaris releases). Agreed. I've got something like 50 Deathwing needing painting myself As soon as Primaris came out I started converting my terminators into Primaris height, they look great but on close inspection their legs are so ridiculously small.

That may be true but profit will make GW or any business move mountains and also even if they don't they WILL bring back terminators anyone who has collected/played 40k as long as I have knows that. If they get rid of terminators they will for years but then they need new ideas for more profit or they will renew ideas and bring them back again just like so many other units like wulfen etc. But even regardless of that if everyone bought terminator models for one month and GW saw those sales and the interest, they would undeniably, incontrovertibly, absaloutely bring out Primaris terminators and that's not because I'm super intelligent (I'm a moron) but I understand the free market. Sorry for my grammar I'm drunk.

Reading the first two HH again?

The beginning of battle of the abyss was a horrendous boring nightmare to read but the end was amazing and I loved descent of angels, as a space wolves player descent of angels was one of my favourite HH novels, which is saying a lot. I loved fallen angels and Nemesis. Betrayer is my favourite bar none, age of darkness was awesome as well. I think people are far too hard on a lot of the novels up to prospero burns (there are a lot after which are awesome) but I think people have faulty memories they think the HH series started getting bad far before it actually did. After the first 4 many of the novels were up until prospero burns and after were mostly stand alone from the main story arc and were fantastic novels, I loved them hated few, after prospero burns its mostly been a :cuss show and you'll find one gem in every 6 you read but before prospero burns they were awesome even the worst of that lot are infinitely better than the majority of post prospero burns though, its literature so its all relative and just opinion. -
This worked in the past for sisters of battle, we should all buy a terminator kit next month to prompt (make) GW design Primaris terminators, I don't know about you but although I love Gravis armour It will never replace terminator armour. They can give terminator armour 3+ for all I care I want the models.

Yeah but after Prospero burns is when the series became so bad in comparison. The first 4 novels will always be the best and everything before Prospero Burns will be the golden age of HH novels to me. -

Reading the first two HH again?

What I also forgot is how sad it was to hear how lovingly and humbled Horus spoke of the Mournival. -
Its been more than a decade since I read the first three novels again and reading it again is so much more eye opening than the first time. The first time I was enthralled by Horus' immensity and I read him with awe (due to the amazing writing) but I never new how much I never caught on while reading. Abnett gave so many hints at Horus' character faults that made him turn to Chaos, like when Maloghurst refused to tell him about Vivar Petronella thinking that he was too important to listen to or deign to waste time on remembrancers and Horus getting angry with him telling him that he 'should' be biographized for his ego (subtextually that is). Anyone else re-read HH novels and found a new appreciation or revelation from re-reading?
-
Even if they are getting rid of him, doesn't matter to me, I have the model and bought another to convert him into a larger zerker like the rest of the new CSM's so he'll just become another one of my champions, with whatever the rules allow me to have. GW can't take away the lore from me but even then it doesn't matter because I only use champions in large scale games when I use more than one because I ALWAYS take the chosen of Khorne in my battles for my HQ (Khârn for the uninitiated, or for those that made a brain fart).
