ORDER HISTORY -- Five years after the Battle of Macragge, a large number of Sisters of the Order of the Valorous Heart moved from the Cardinal world of San Leor to Devlan (the site of first contact with the Tau), and founded the Order of the Winged Fire for the purpose of maintaining watch over the Tau and checking their expansion in critical areas. A few decades before Abaddon's thirteenth Black Crusade, (Approx. 975.M41) a large Chaos force worshipping Khorne appeared in the region wreaking havoc on Imperial and Tau worlds alike. For this reason forces of the Order have sometimes been seen fighting alongside the Tau against the Khorne Marines. The Order's immediate superiors on San Leor have sanctioned this occasional alliance, as Chaos is the foe of all. Because the Order's primary adversaries are the Tau and Khorne Chaos Marines, the Order uses a large number of tanks and Jump Packs to counter the Tau mobility and keep them from Khornate Axes. <Further information requires =][= clearance>

Regretfully, Vid of Order armour and Livery are unavailable at this time, so a description is included instead: Dark purple armour with dark grey accents on Sisters, silver accents on Celestians and gold accents on Seraphim. Canonesses, Palantines and Seraphim Veteran Sister Superiors have gold armour and purple accents. Order Livery prior to 999.M41 was black. Due to the vast distance between Devlan and the Eye of Terror, the Order was unable to be at the Cadian Gate alongside the many Orders who defended it. When word of the fall of the Gate reached Devlan, the Order was filled with grief at the loss and frustration at their inability to help. The Order then changed its Livery to light grey in symbolism of the fortress walls of Cadia on which their Sisters fell.
