  1. I would use Pyroclast to claim/attack the objectives of the ennemy better than keep yours. For example with a Tactic Unit which follow them to keep the point . Personnaly I usually don't like to have expensive unit which don't move or keep moving .
  2. Just Google it calandancid , you will find it easily . ;)
  3. Hello guys , it's been a long time since I post . Was just reading again the Legiones Astartes book (Istvaan Campaign Legions) and particularly the Salamanders section ... .. and then I noticed it ... the LegionSpecific Restriction Rules (Disdain of the Dark Age) have changed since the Massacre book ... ... now ... Destroyer squad , posphex weapons and Moritat Consull can't be used ...in a Salamander Legion PRIMARY Detachment !!! So if u take an Allied Detachment of Salamanders you can have them ( I'm thinking especially of the Sallies Moritat ... ). But in the Crusade Army book it is not precisely written that a primary salamander detachment can't have a salamander allied detachment ... What do u think guys ? EDIT : just read the ERRATA and Moritat can't be taken as ally . But my question is still good for the Destroyer and phosphex
  4. Here is the quote : "The Devils in the Dark" - Massacre . p.117 : " ...Of particular note is the strength of constitution displayed by fully developed Salamanders Legiones Astartes , which has measurable superiority to the already superhuman Space Marine norms in relation to extreme temperature tolerance , radiological resistance an cellular repair . As a result of this latter factor particularly , only the Death Guard Legion are on record as having a capacity to process and resist toxins that exceed the Salamanders' gene-type..."
  5. You're welcome . Even without this Forgeworld book , it was stated in a few W40K articles , about Sallies , that they are oftenly stronger than the other marines , I will check it also at home.
  6. You are right about the Big E and his knowledge about the mysteries of the universe...who knows ? For the Sallies physical abilities it is written in the book Massacre . I will quote it later when I'll be back at home. Kor'vesh : As I understand your point of view (with my poor english) . You said that the salamanders were grown apart to be independant and fight against the odds. It's true at the beginning and this way of thinking almost destroyed the Legion until being reunited with Vulkan . With Vulkan attheir head their mentality have changed a bit . And so the fact to be raised apart at the beginning seems to a wrong method to me.
  7. Kor'vesh : sorry but I'm not convinced by your argument ,sorry . But nice try. Greyall: why not but this prophecy is an eldar one . And as far as I know it concern Vulkan and not the Sallies. Perhaps we must look to the unique genetic abilities of the Sallies: stronger and more resilient than the other space marine ? Or , they were develop apart the other ones because the Emperor wanted to watch if any of them had the "Vulkan's powerful and special ability" (if you see what I mean) and if yes to quicly destroyed the Legion .
  8. Thanks IHF for the answer . Any idea for the second one ?
  9. Guys , I was asking myself two question. If you have any idea on the matter it would help : 1 - Massacre , page 125 , the sallies vet Nar'van , does he have a MK VII helmet ? I know that Sallies mix a lot their armour ...but the only MKVII helmet that I know during the heresy era is the Lion's one. 2- Massacre , the history of tthe Sallies. At the beginning of the protoLegion , 3 of them were develop apart from the other : the 6th , the 18th and the 20th. I could understand for the proto-space wolves and the proto-alpha legion : they are and can be use as a counterattack if a Legion is rebelling , one with strentgh and the other with spy. In your point of view why so much secret for the proto-salamanders at the beginning ?
  10. To exsanguis : I don't think so. It is written "may apply the Master-crafted specialrule to a single weapon they possess..." As I understand it the character must have the weapon on him, not on the vehicle he is on. Or if he can , could the mastercrafted can be put on any vehicle weapon ?!
  11. Just asking myself (because I'm french I'm not sure of the rule) : Firedrake Terminator Squad - Favoured of Vulkan Rule : a firedrake terminator squad may be chosen instead of a command squad as a bodyguard for anyterminator armour-equipped Praetor of the salamander legion. So do these firedrake bodyguard count : -as an Elite choice Or - as the same HQ choice with their Praetor (like a Command Squad) ?
  12. Double post for the good cause (I will fix it in the evening) I asked on the forgeworld facebook page if they will make a guide for the colorsof the 4 legion in Massacre (as they have done for betrayal) ....and they won't...strange... Its a big problem for me because which green to use for the sallies ? Not the same in 40K
  13. I hope they will make Pyre Guard, but because they are all the seven the big heroes of the Sallies Legion , I think they will only create Numeon, the first captain. And I wonder if they will create the miniatures for them.because I am already preparing my own miniatures of them. (We have a pretty good description of their stuff in the HH novels) Perhaps an other characters they should create would be Umojen the Chief Librarian. (Who you can see in Thousand Sons and Gates of Terra )
  14. Ok I had an answer from Nick Kyme , this guy is great and kind : That's a gentleman !
  15. Yes Nick Kyme is a pretty cool guys with who you can discuss if you are not a too silly hardcore fan ;)
