Upcoming releases discussion

I’m hoping they will do Shadowswords at some point. Sabre tanks would be nice also -

Kits in direst need of replacement/updates
Red_Shift replied to Evil Eye's topic in + AMICUS AEDES +
Completely agree with the other suggestions. I would likely to humbly suggest the IG basilisk, an ancient kit that would benefit from a remake to include heavier artillery types as well - bombard etc. Im also rather fond of the Salamander scout tank. Ratlings to plastic. Servitors are iconic and listed in several codexes without models being easily available -

Rogal Dorn - The Emperor's Crusader book
Red_Shift replied to Tolmeus's topic in + THE BLACK LIBRARY +
I enjoyed it, although I had hoped for more. The premise and initial set up were excellent. I found the end foe to be rather disappointing, I had hoped for something more horrific. I also found the prose quite grating at times. Dorn was the competent tactician expected but I feel we didn’t see any new aspects to his character. I'm finding it hard to say much more without spoiling it and I’m aware only the few of us lucky to have the limited edition have read it. I would say overall it was good but well below great. -
Managed to bag my first ever limited edition BL book. I am a Dorn fanboy though!

I kind of like them. I think they could do with some different heads that look more obviously dwarf like and a cool helmet. I’m more worried about upcoming vehicle options. I don’t like the hover bike and it makes me worried that any re-imagined land train will be unrecognisable. I feel like GW have played things safe and fairly generic rather than do something more risky like a more 80s metal vibe.

Old Man Yarrick cannot die, because the Orks believe he cannot die, and as we have seen their psychic consciousness can make things happen. The remains of one of the lost legions were merged with the Imperial Fists, and later became known as the Soul Snakes. That’s why Lysander couldn’t use the Soul Spear.

Throne of Light (Dawn of Fire 4) review threads

I’m now at chapter 24 and I’m struggling to see how Haley is going to pull this all together. There are tons of different characters and sub plots and I cant really get a sense of the overall narrative. It’s a bit disappointing as I normally love books by Haley but this feels forced somehow.- 96 replies

For me it’s far too much money although I appreciate if you do want all the contents it’s a significant saving. The terminators being old models and the lack of some really inspiring character models doesn’t help. Now if it were a bfg launch box I might have just thrown money down anyway but it’s all variations of power armour and I’ve got companies worth painted up already.

I thought it was great. I am a fan of pulpy, easy to read 40k books though. Give me this over the latest siege book any day.

Review of WH+ It's current state and it's potential
Red_Shift replied to Orange Knight's topic in + AMICUS AEDES +
I got sent a really long survey about Warhammer plus and what I thought about games workshop. I’m surprised there haven’t been any threads about it in BaC. I got the impression that GW know it’s not a success from the phrasing of the questions. I was already suspecting that from the constant stream of attempts to get people to buy in around the time of release. im interested to see what the next exclusive models will be, I won’t be renewing if they don’t meet expectations. I don’t think they look particularly special from the teasers, a shame because an exodite model would have been a real draw. -

It is a good animation but it’s not as cool as the grey knights one which pre dates this by years. Seems a curious choice for an animation unless a model follows it. A model/diorama of this would have been a real draw to make me renew Warhammer plus.

Damn, I missed out on the space marine anthology, distracted doing diy! Interesting if it’s Mortarian next, I had assumed they would alternate loyalists with traitors.
