Welcome to part three of the Blood Angels Unit of the Week series! Following the release of the 10th edition Index, there is no better time to discuss all the units we have access to. Each week a different unit will appear, with the idea being that we discuss how best to use that model on the battlefield. Where part one will discuss the units from the units found within Index: Blood Angels, parts two to four will discuss Index: Space Marines, part five will be Imperial Armour, and part six will be Legends. Note, this isn't to lament any nerfs, etc, from previous editions; the rules are as they are so try to unlock its potential for those who wish to use them all the same. Similarly, this thread is only for using the option being discussed; it matters not if you feel something is a better choice as such comments aren't constructive to the topic and shall be removed. Without further ado, here's this week's entry: Bladeguard Veteran Squad What are you thoughts here folks? How best would you play an Bladeguard Veteran Squad? To compliment a list, or to build a list around? What size squad are you using? Which Detachment are you using? What delivery options are you using? What deployment options are you using? What Leader are you using, if any? What weapon options are you using? Stratagem synergy of note? Over to you.

Welcome to the Veritas Vitae Series! Following the release of the 10th edition Indices, there is no better time to discuss all the tools that we have access to. This ongoing series of articles focuses on what a Blood Angels Force Commander has at their disposal, with advice, information, and tactics plucked from the readily available to the more obscure parts of GWs rulesets. Like all Veritas Vitae articles, these remain active and are in flux, so we can add and update them as the information contained within changes. So please chip in with any and all suggestions to help your fellow Frater to victory against the daemon, the heretic, the xenos, and the traitor. Leaders A Blood Angels force has a plethora of leaders for units that are found in the various support books available to us. This guide explores what they are, what they do, an how best to maximise their use for our army. Article Setup The following are notes on the setup of article below: Header in Blood Red, Leader is found in Index: Blood Angels or Legends: Blood Angels Header in Enchanted Blue, Leader is found in Index: Space Marines or Legends: Space Marines Header in Administratum Grey, Leader is found in the Index: Agents of the Imperium or Legends: Agents of the Imperium Keywords will appear in Bold format Important points will appear in underlined format Locations The following are direct links to each sourcebook: Core Rules Codex: Space Marines Index: Space Marines and Legends: Adeptus Astartes Index: Blood Angels and Legends: Blood Angels Index: Agents of the Imperium and Legends: Agents of the Imperium Core rules The following are core rules which apply to each Leader (BRB, pg 39): Before the battle during the Declare Battlefield Formations step, Character units with the Leader ability can be attached to one of their Bodyguard units to form an Attached unit. Attached units can only contain one Leader. Attacks cannot be allocated to Character models in Attached units. Can be targeted with the Epic Challenge stratagem Links The Leaders a Blood Angels force can use are split into six different categories, the links to which can be found below: Ancients Apothecaries Captains Champions Chaplains Chapter Masters Librarians Lieutenants Techmarines Allies Furthermore, a list of which unit can be lead by what is found here. Acknowledgment The idea and groundwork for this article was done by DavidBarret82 over on Reddit. The original article can be found here.

Without further ado, here's this week's entry: Librarian in Phobos Armour What are you thoughts here folks? How best would you use a Librarian in Phobos Armour? To compliment a list, or to build a list around? Which Detachment are you using? What unit is he leading, if any? What delivery options are you using? What deployment options are you using? Stratagem synergy of note? Over to you. Please note that Librarian, Librarian in Terminator Armour, Librarian on Bike, and Librarian with Jump Pack will be discussed elsewhere.

Welcome to part two of the Blood Angels Unit of the Week series! Which Detachment are you using? What unit is he leading, if any? What delivery options are you using? What deployment options are you using? Stratagem synergy of note? Over to you. Please note that Chaplain in Terminator Armour, Chaplain on Bike, and Chaplain with Jump Pack will be discussed elsewhere.
