Hello folks, It's been a while. Haven't had much time or drive to do anything 40k-related in the past couple of years but I made a few purchases here and there, and the Pile of Grey grows larger. To try and combat that, I've set myself the task to paint every couple of days and to paint the stuff that I feel like painting. In the past, I've always pushed myself to paint models for a specific project with a relatively strict deadline and it never really worked out. I'm hoping this new, more fluid/flexible approach will work better. Anyway, to start us off, I've been painting some Tyranids recently. I got the Leviathan box last year and slowly built up a 1000-point army list for an escalation league in the late summer that petered out after a few weeks. Now, in 2024, a friend of mine is getting into 40k with a fledgling Deathwatch army and I've felt motivated to put some paint onto my Tyranids with the hope that we'll be able to organise a game for some point next month. Here's the result of the first few painting sessions: - 10 Termagants - a Winged Tyranid Prime I'm currently working on the Screamer-Killer from the Leviathan box. I've also got plans to work on some Adeptus Titanicus scale models, some Necromunda gangers, and some Space Marines for both 30k and 40k. Thanks for reading this far; take care!

A custom Career Path for use in Dark Heresy 1st Edition, a Warhammer 40'000 roleplaying game. The aim of this document is to provide a framework in which players can create characters who are part of the Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum but specialise in military intelligence (specifically SIGINT and CYBINT) instead of the usual roles in military service. That the Emperor, blessed in His wisdom, would come to desire such a trove of knowledge, appears self-evident even to us, who live in the shadow of His passage. It was thus then, that he would send forth his Angels of Death, the then-nascent Legio Primus - the Angelum Mortis - to root out the entrenched xenophile cults that had come to inhabit Europa by that point. The operation was swift, if bloody, and fiefdom over the stellar body would be ceeded to an enclave of the Helvetian Technocracy - an offshoot of the Machine Orthodoxy that had weathered the Age of Strife in isolation most extreme upon Terra. Where then Deimos and Phobos of Mars would become the twin-seats of the martian synode of Beherrean, and Io became the heart of the lunar Simvulsean Complex, Europa would become home to the Ansilean Circle, a branch of the Technocracy responsible for the research of weaponization of warp phenomena. Due to the high-priority technologies developed and improved upon - research that held keenest interest among a number of the Emperor's subjects - the station had long been obscured from regular imperial authorities and been declared interditum absoutis to any and all who did not hold the appropriate seals of authority. It is during the early stages of the Horus Heresy that elements of the Alpha Legion would conduct a series of assaults on the Solar system - most famously the grand assault on station Hydra, in the orbit of Pluto - and research outposts would prove to be some of their most favoured targets, both due to the wealth of material and knowledge that could be raided there, and the relative isolation in which they existed even in this most fortified of circles. On the third day of the Septimus in the thirteenth year of m31, all contact from Europa would cease, prompting Lord Dorn to send out an investigative force of Imperial Fists to ascertain what had transpired and - should the situation require it - secure and extract any technology still present in the Ansilean vaults. It is to be noted that Lord Dorn was, at first, unwilling to send out any of his own men, for in those early days of the Great Fratricide many things had been uncertain and he - rightly so - feared more direct attacks against Terra and thus sought to hold back his own forces as best he could. It was only after a private audience with Lord-Hierophant Ecneon, master of the Technocracy, that Lord Dorn would relent. The investigative force would quickly discover that a strike force of the Alpha Legion - henceforth termed Strikeforce 'Lintwyrm' - supported by allied Mechanicum and Militia elements - henceforth termed as Strikeforce 'Koleikos' and Strikeforce 'Sarthaccan' respectively - had disabled all communication in the facility and begun off-loading the present technology. It appeared then, that the stationed Helvetian forces had been seeded with operative elements of the Alpha Legion many years prior. This is the documentation of the Euripides-incident. :::::::::Unspooling fragmentary audio-data recorded by Legionnarie Karst of the Imperial Fists::::::::: :::::::::Data is heavily damaged::::::::: :::::::::Please stand by::::::::: :::::::::Data partially recovered::::::::: :::::::::Open the record: Y/N?::::::::: :::::::::Input: Y::::::::: +For the Emperor+ :::::::::Close the file: Y/N?::::::::: :::::::::Input N::::::::: :::::::::Fareth well, Inquisitor Yannik::::::::: :::::::::The Emperor protects::::::::: ++Pict-Captures extracted from reconstructed Helvetian Cybergholam++ ++Identity unconfirmed; presumed to be Consul-Delegatus Autilon Skorr++ We are not gods. Hello folks, To cut a long-ish story short, I was going through the weapon options for Van Saar and came across the Suppression Laser and its Focusing Crystal upgrade. The Suppression Laser's short burst profile is S4 AP0 D2 Am4+ Knockback, Plentiful; with the Focusing Crystal added, the way I understand it, it becomes S4 AP-2 D2 Am4+ Knockback, Plentiful, Unstable, right? The reason I ask is because YakTribe's Gang Manager tool modifies this profile to Am5+ and removes the Plentiful trait and I can't figure out why. Anyway, thoughts on and potential solutions for this matter are much appreciated and sought after. :)

-If the Warmaster has turned his back on Terra, what are my orders? -Tell him his brother Rogal will have him answer for it. -Rogal Dorn to First Captain Sigismund [source: The Flight of the Eisenstein, Chapter Fourteen] [ + + + + + ] Event Description: Welcome to the 8th iteration of the Sons of Dorn Expansion (formerly known as the Imperial Fists Expansion), an event designed to motivate you to get your unpainted models out of their dusty boxes and to slap enough paint onto them to call them "finished"! If you want to join in, follow these four easy steps: Gather your unfinished models that represent one of the many Chapters of Rogal Dorn's bloodline (or even the mighty VIIth Legion itself); Take a picture of them in their current state and post it in this thread along with a vow to paint them before the end of the event (Sunday 24th April 2022 at 23:59 in your timezone); Once the models are painted to a level that you are happy with, take a picture of them and post in this thread to mark your vow as complete; If you've managed to complete your vow before 24th April and feel like painting some more, go back to step 1 and do it all again! If you lack the inspiration and/or time to come up with an inspiring vow, consider using the following example as a foundation: If you have any questions, check out the Q&A section below. If you can't find an answer to your question below, feel free to ask in this thread or contact Dosjetka via personal message (PM). Now get building and painting in the name of our Primarch and the Emperor! Event Q&A: Q: Can I vow models that already have paint on them? A: Yes! You can vow any model as long as you consider it to be unfinished. Q: Can I paint up my models in the colours of a custom Chapter of my own design? A: As long as you claim them to be from Dorn's gene-line, you can! Q: Can I paint models that are currently in service of the Deathwatch or the Legio? A: Of course, as long as they're from a Dornian Chapter; they still wear their Chapter colours with pride on their right pauldron after all! Q: Can I vow models that are vowed in other events? A: Yes! Q: Can I post ongoing progress pictures or just when the final ones? A: The more in-progress pictures, the merrier! Q: Is there an event banner for my signature space? A: I'm glad you asked! It's tradition on the B&C to have signature banners for events and this is no exception! I've already got the banner in my signature, what's your excuse? 300x100 pixel version: 33x100 pixel version:

In case you missed it, Fafnir Rann is getting a plastic model: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/02/15/black-library-celebration-2022-meet-the-hero-of-the-lions-gate-spaceport-fafnir-rann/ Given that I'm in the middle of building a VIIth Legion Zone Mortalis force, this release couldn't come at a better time: I'll be using Fafnir Rann as is. Now I'm curious to know how you will use your Fafnir Rann model (should you get one)? Will you: Use it as is for your Imperial Fists Legion force? Convert the model to use in another Legion as a character? Use it in your Imperial Fists Chapter force as a captain/other character? Use/convert the model for a Chapter force that is from Dorn's lineage? Use/convert the model for another power armoured force as a character? Or something else entirely?

Hello folks, After being disappointed with the state of the game lately and my abysmal on-table performance with my Black Templars and browsing the Lexicanum pictorial list of Space Marine Chapters, I ended up painting this fella from the Emperor's Hands Chapter in a couple of hours: Note: the symbol doesn't match 100% but I had spare Iron Hands decals I wanted to use. I'm pretty happy with the end result and would like to paint some more one-off models. This is where you come into the picture: I would like you to suggest names of Chapters you'd like to see painted. These can be official Chapters or DIY Chapters, so long as they have a colour scheme that I can refer to. Once suggestions come through, I'll pick the one that I like the look of and apply that colour scheme to a model and then share pictures of it all here. So, if you'd like to suggest a Chapter name, please follow this link: https://forms.gle/CDZ6DeuDEAkQzFt48 I'll check the suggestions over the next couple of days and then paint the next model whenever I have a couple of hours of spare time this week. Thank you for looking, take care!

Lost zygote: Oolitic kidney -> all Marines are less resistant to toxins, but lack of the oolitic kidney can also lead to implant malfunction/rejection and organ failure; Organisation: Followers of the Codex Astartes; Favour close combat, relentless; Quick reaction is the hallmark of this Chapter; Nominal Chapter strength; Combat Doctrine: Favour strength and cunning; Chapter Friends: Imperial Guard raised from a specific world; Chapter Enemies: Eldar Corsairs (specific group); Beliefs: Revere the Emperor above all;Battle-cry: "Forward, for the glory of the Emperor!"Name, Heraldry, & Livery: Chapter name adjectives: Sable, Fiery, Omega, Brothers, Millennial, Mailed, White, Bloody, War, Imperial; Chapter name nouns: Marauders, Brothers, Sons, name of its Chapter's home world, Hunters; Heraldry: raven, chalice, talon, clenched fist, sword; Livery: orange & dark pink.

++ Dark Heresy Campaign: A Future, Severed ++ + A discussion and recruitment thread + Deatrix Cestelle, head of the influential Braunvieh Guild on the feudal world of Zillman's Domain, is found hacked apart in her office late one night with little motive to justify such a brutal murder. The prime suspect is nowhere to be found and the generous use of industrial-grade desinfectant on the crime scene has kept the local investigators from drawing any solid leads. The case has caught the eye of the Adeptus Arbites and, for reasons yet unclear, the Inquisition is gathering assets on the Domain. You are one such asset and it is your duty to uncover the thread of truth from the fabric of deceit and lies, uncover what sinister plot hides behind what appears to be just another crime among countless others. Welcome, Acolyte. This thread is to serve as the recruitment and character concept discussion for the proposed game of Dark Heresy (1st Edition). Dark Heresy: A Future, Severed is the first scenario of a campaign for three to six players that focuses more on investigation than combat, though there will be some deadly action to keep you engaged and on your toes. After all, in the 41st Millennium, the possibility of a violent death lurks at every corner. The investigation will begin with your characters deployed to the town of Mital-Dorw situated in the northern reaches of Zillman's Domain, a low-tech feudal world where the legitimacy of the king is ensured by his possession of a working lasgun and where accidental visitors often end up burned at the stake for using even the most basic forms of technology. The game is set in 998.M41 in the Calixis Sector, a year before the 13th Black Crusade and the cataclysmic events of the Fall of Cadia and the Cicatrix Maledictum. For character creation, you may pick any home world/origin (including those found pp. 21-25 in The Inquisitor's Handbook, for example) and choose any career with the exception of Grey Knight. If you wish to create an Adepta Sororitas character, you must follow the career options in The Inquisitor's Handbook and not those in Blood of Martyrs. In principle, you may select any Background Package and Alternate Career Path as long as your character meets the prerequisites, though I'd appreciate folks letting me know first that way I can check that it all fits together properly and will know what to expect/plan for in future investigations. The game will begin with all players writing a brief intro to how their characters ended up catching the eye of the Inquisition and their journey to Port Vegmund, the gateway into Zillman's Domain. If you're interested in joining the Inquisition as a lowly Acolyte, bringing the perpetrators of this brutal crime to justice, and bringing the secrets hidden behind the curtain to light, go ahead and post below, including any character concepts you may have started working on.

LIBER ASTARTES SWAP CHALLENGE 2021 Monday 1st February - Sunday 2nd May [+++] Greetings, fellow Liberites! It is with great pleasure that I bring this announcement to you: after a first edition back in 2010, organised by @captain_shrike and @Ferrus Manus, and a second one over a year ago in 2019, organised by @Brother Cambrius, I am happy to organise the third iteration of this fun, creative event in the hopes that it'll get people writing, modeling and painting! Similar to the previous event, this event will champion the writing of fresh Chapters of Adeptus Astartes or Warbands of the Heretic Astartes. However, if you already have a Chapter/Warband posted here in the Liber and don't feel like creating something from scratch, you may also revisit and update your existing article instead. Now, to make things easier to organise and run, the event shall be divided into two distinct phases. PHASE 1 (2 months, 1st February - 29th March) Participants who enter the challenge must submit an article that describes the history and customs of their DIY Chapter/Warband by Monday 29th March 23:59 in their timezone. Much like Cambrius before me, I am loathe to put a minimum word count requirement on this challenge. The bare minimum should cover the core tenets of your Chapter/Warband, along with a selected history, a colour scheme (using the B&C's very own digital painting tools or GW's Primaris heraldry card), a Chapter/Warband symbol (description or image), and whatever other details you deem necessary for someone to be able to build and paint a model representing a Space Marine from your Chapter/Warband. For examples of what's expected, I'd recommend checking out Cambrius' Avenging Fists and Demolishers, Olis' Seventh Sons, Lysimachus' Paladins of Dercia, my very own Praetors of Denzarr. You can also refer to the following brief list of stuff to include, pilfered from the last event: What's your Chapter's name? What do they look like? What is their personality? What is their identity in the world of 40K? (eg are they heroic knights of honour, shadowy assassins, cold and logical soldiers) If you're still not sure if your Chapter/Warband fits within the above requirements, drop a message here on in my inbox, and I'll get your sorted as soon as I can. As mentioned earlier, you may choose to instead update an existing Chapter/Warband of yours and submit it by the same deadline and following the same basic requirements. If you're a madman like @Brother Argent, you may even submit multiple entries if you so wish. [!] Important note [!] -> when you submit your vow, please also state what type of Space Marine (Firstborn, Primaris, and/or Heretic) you can assemble and paint during Phase 2. This is very important because not everyone has all of the aforementioned options and it would be a shame if someone got lumped with an Ultima-Founding Chapter but doesn't have any spare Primaris to paint, or a Warband but only has loyalist Space Marine bits. Now, if you'd like to post your vow for this event, feel free to use the STC provided below and embellish it as you wish. And here are some snazzy signature banners to show that you're a cool kid competing in this challenge (many thanks to Cambrius for these). 300x100 pixel version: 33x100 pixel version:

Further details about this shall be posted closer to the start of Phase 2 but rest assured, it's all quite simple. + Warriors of the Sarlevin Crusade on Anara XVII, 902.M36 + + Crusade badge of the Sarlevin Crusade, 902-910.M36, illustrated by Artifex-Primus Domyn Iqtchan + + Thought of the Day: You carry the Emperor's Will as your Torch, with it Destroy the Shadows. + + + + Welcome to my latest hobby project and return to one of my first loves in the Warhammer 40'000 universe: the Black Templars! The very first Codex I bought when I got into the hobby around 2007 was the 4th Edition Black Templars one and while both Warhammer 40'000 has moved on since then, I find it to be a fantastic ressource for any Black Templar fan, especially when building a "historical" force that isn't designed to fit in the current (i.e. M42) timeline. Below you can see the results of my first serious attempt at a Black Templars army. A meeting of B&C staff members had been set for June 2018 and I didn't want to turn up without any painted models! My initial plan was to build and paint 500 points of Black Templars but unfortunately I never got that far, only managing the above before burning out. That said, they still look good two years later and I'd like to both touch up a few issues present on these models (even though I loathe going back to work on completed models) and expand this force into something I can actually use in larger games. The two main issues are: I used some spray can varnish on them and four models got at least partially coated in a fine grey layer of varnish; I'd very much like to fix that with a bit of Nuln Oil to darken the grey areas. The Assault Marines don't have the correct shoulder pad trim colour (i.e. red); I need to fix this ASAP! Now, after that's fixed, I'm looking at ways to expand the force. Since it is set in the murky years of M36 shortly after the 6th Black Crusade, there will be no Primaris Marines in this force. I already had a few models earmarked for service within my Crusade and those will no doubt be the first candidates for a slap of paint. Below you can see a non-exhaustive collection of models that shall receive the black and white colours of the Templars. The old school models that have paint on them will be stripped and repainted. The rest are either already WIP or need to be started on from scratch. To help me organise myself and my collection, here are a couple of lists containing models I have and wish to add to my Templars and models I don't have but wish to purchase, assemble, and paint. I'll try and prioritise the models I already have but there's unfortunately no guarantee of this: I'm a bit of an implusive buyer and hoarder, and I get distracted quite easily. Models I own and wish to add to the Sarlevin Crusade forces: Chapter Master Marshal in Terminator armour with storm bolter and relic blade Captain Castellan in power armour with storm bolter and power sword Two Emperor's Champions (perhaps three, depends on the number of Fighting Companies I end up going with) At least two Chaplains Apothecary in power armour with bolt pistol and chainsword Lieutenant Sword Brother in power armour with master-crafted boltgun and power sword (the old Castellant Dracos model) At least three Sergeants Sword Brethren with various wargear options to lead my Crusader Squads Some more Initiates (at least seven, with bolt pistol and chainsword) Some Neophytes (at least six, with bolt pistol and chainsword/combat blade) Some Sword Brethren (at least one squad equipped with power armour & jump packs and another equipped Terminator armour in the "Assault" configuration) Bike Squad (with at least three bikes) At least one more Dreadnought Thunderfire Cannon Land Speeder Storm Rhino Razorback Predator Two Land Raiders Models I wish to purchase to add to the Sarlevin Crusade forces: Chaplain on Bike Attack Bike to add to the Bike Squad At least one more Predator A Vindicator or two Of course, neither of these two lists is exhaustive. Anyway, thank you for having a look and I'll be back soon with some progress.

IMPERIAL FISTS EXPANSION IV Are you are loyal Son of Dorn who has models to paint but no motivation? Are you part of the Emperor's finest and wish to beat the snot out of those cowardly Iron Warriors who hide behind their walls with their so-called "big guns"? If this sounds like you, welcome to the fourth edition of the Imperial Fists Expansion! An event that started out very small with only a handful of Frater joining in the fun which has now grown in size and popularity among the Sons of Dorn here on the B&C. Last year we managed to have twenty-five participants with twelve of them emerging as victors over the forces of Chaos that had spilled forth from the Eye of Terror. This year shall be a little different though; indeed the Iron Warriors have seen us muster for painting war and have started gathering their own forces to try and challenge us. This is why I turn to you now, brothers and sisters, children of Rogal Dorn, to join the fight and to give the Iron Warriors and their miserable allies a beating they shall remember until the End of Time. Rise, Sons of Dorn! Mankind calls and we shall answer! Raise shields and stand firm! Blood shall be spilt and glory shall be had! Rise, in the name of Dorn and the Emperor! OUTLINE The Imperial Fists Expansion (IFE) is an event open to all Sons of Dorn, whether in the disant past of M30/M31 or in the dark future of the 41st Millennium, with the aim of getting your unpainted models out of boxes and onto the painting table! You will have four months to paint as many models/points as possible. Since we are competing against the Iron Warriors, the aim shall be to paint more points than they have in the same time frame. While you will only be able to vow Codex-legal units, there will be one small exception that I will cover later on for people who just want to paint a one-off model to test out a colour scheme, join in the fun without committing to paint too much, or both! Reward-wise, there shall be two types: personal rewards shall be in the shape of signature banners for each and every person who completes their vow(s) in the given time and if we beat the Chaos side (which we will ), I shall craft a victory banner for us to proudly display as the winning team. For those of you who are new to this, you might want to check out last year's event to get a feel of what it shall be like (ie. heaps of fun). For the veterans... welcome back, battle-scarred Astartes! RULES The rules for this event are simple: 1. TEAMS You pick a side between the Imperial Fists and their successors or the Iron Warriors and their splinter groups. If you are reading this, the choice is already made. Welcome to the winning team, Frater. 2. VOWS Every participant on either side must make at least one (1) and up to a maximum of seven (7) vows. Each of these vows must have at least one (1) and up to four (4) Codex-legal units. There is no limit on points. To be accepted, the vow must be posted either in this thread (for the Sons of Dorn) or the Iron Without thread (for the Sons of Perturabo) using the following format (minor variations accepted): It is crucial to note the following things:If you fail to complete one vow, then all previous vows are considered void and do not count towards the final points total; You must start work on your vow after having submitted it. Miniatures that are entered into the challenge must be unpainted, undercoated, or in the very early stages of painting. If you are unsure whether or not your models qualify for entry, please ask. A vow must be completed before another is made. Also, once submitted, a vow cannot be modified in any shape or form so think before you pledge! 3. VICTORY Once the event is over and the dust has settled, a number of things shall happen. Firstly, for all of those who have successfully completed all of their vows, there shall be a signature banner celebrating their personal success and the upkeep of their promise. Wear it with pride as you continue your activities on the Bolter & Chainsword! Secondly, Lord Thorn and I shall have the wonderful task of going through all of the vows and do the tally of successful vows to determine which of the two teams is the winner. The winning team will receive a special signature badge to celebrate victory over their rivals. DEADLINES FIRST VOW START DATE: Saturday 20th August 2016 PAINTING START DATE: Saturday 27th August 2016 FIRST VOW DEADLINE: Saturday 17th September 2016, at 18:00 GMT PAINTING END DATE: Saturday 3rd December 2016, at 18:00 GMT All deadlines shall be strictly observed. Make sure you give yourself enough time to post your vows and then complete them to avoid any disappointment! There shall be no exceptions! LEGAL UNITS Each vow must be made up of at least one unit from the latest Codex: Space Marines, Imperial Armour Vol 2 - War Machines of the Adeptus Astartes, the Angels of Death supplement, or the relevant Forge World Horus Heresy books and dataslates. These can be mixed and matched but their source must be clear. If you have any doubts, please ask. There is one exception to this rule for the people who just want to join in for a bit of fun without painting masses of models: You can vow a single, infantry-sized model (in power armour and variants or Terminator armour) of your choice as your first vow. No other units can be pledged in this first vow and you can only make such a vow once during the whole event. Whatever the wargear choice, model in game terms, etc. this entry will always have a fixed value of 50 points. This is to give people the opportunity to model and paint a one-off model of their choice while also allowing them to contribute to the overall effort. Deathwatch The question has come up a couple of times whether Dornian Deathwatch members are allowed or not. While you cannot use the units in Codex: Deathwatch, most of them have equivalents in Codex: Space Marines so if you'd like to paint up a unit in Deathwatch colours which is made up 100% of Imperial Fists and/or successors, feel free to do so! IMPORTANT: It goes without saying that all models must represent a member of the Imperial Fists Chapter/Legion or one of their many successors. It also goes without saying that all vowed models must respect WYSIWYG as much as possible. Last but not least, your models must be anywhere between a 'still-in-box' state to assembled and basecoated with the main colour to be accepted. If unsure, please ask in the General Banter thread or PM me. TROPHIES Since we are doing this event in tandem with the Iron Warriors B&C community, Lord Thørn and I have decided to introduce the concept of trophies. Trophies are a way to add detail to your models while also giving you a small points bonus for the overall points score. The given bonus will be a +10% point increase (rounding down) for the trophy'd unit when we do the totals at the end of the event. To be eligible, at least 50% of the unit's models need to have a trophy. For example, in the case of a Dreadnought unit made up of one Dreadnought, you only need to add a single element to the Dreadnought's base (a split helmet) for it to be considered trophy'd. However in a five-man Tactical Squad, three of the five models need to have a trophy for the unit to be considered trophy'd. In the case of a ten-man Squad, at least five models must have a trophy. A trophy can be one of the following (non-exhaustive list):The helmet of a fallen warrior; A banner that has been cast down; The burning remains of armour/a vehicle; Etc It goes without saying that these trophies must represent the opposing team (in our case, Iron Warriors) and must immediately recognisable as such. BANNERS 300 x 100 px http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_11559/gallery_45765_11559_29798.png 33 x 100 px http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_11559/gallery_45765_11559_3638.png IMPORTANT STUFF Out-of-competiton vows There could be cases that what people want to build/paint cannot be reconciled with the rules posted above. For example, some might want to do crazy conversions or scratch builds; others might want to paint miniatures from other gaming systems, such as Epic, BFG, etc; some might miss the deadline for joining in; or some want to paint models which aren't included within the allowed Codecies and books. It’s also a possibility that some cases people might want to paint miniatures from the rival team (HERESY! ). With that in mind, out-of-competition vows are allowed and can be added to the Rules & Vow thread (this one) but shall not be counted towards the team totals at the end of the event! You are expected to finish your vow(s) however so make sure you get them done by the deadline! If unsure... I could put whole list of other things here but most of that is common sense. However, if you have any questions concerning anything that might be unclear or not mentioned in the post above, please do not hesitate to ask by posting or by sending me a PM! The most important rule of all Have fun! Ave Imperator!

Thought of the Day: “Death Shall Hold Dominion and Silence Fall; Consider.” War. If there is a single defining truth of the dark and terrible age in which we live, it is war, red and bloody. The ceaseless battle between Mankind and the alien, between the divine truth of the God-Emperor and the falsehoods of Chaos, between brother and brother, between light and dark, life and death – war is all. This treatise concerns but one war among many, but a war whose nature and secrets render it quite exceptional. It was a conflict that rose up to plunge a score of star systems into savage strife. A war which turned entire armies of the Imperium’s most powerful warriors against each other and in doing so swept millions to their deaths in its turbulence. I write of course of one of the most insidious and dangerous internecine conflicts to wrack our beloved Imperium in many centuries: the Badab War. - Inquisitor-Ordinate Talon Encarmidus, Ordo Hereticus, 5137933.M41 [imperial Armour IX: The Badab War - Part 1] =][= INTENT Welcome, brothers and sisters, Loyalists and Separatists, to another edition of “Back to Badab”: a thread that will serve as a loose framework to enable fellow Badab War enthusiasts to gather and share pictures and stories of their Badab War projects, and provide each other with ideas and feedback, while generally have a good time in dangerously close proximity to the dreaded Maelstrom. Since most of us are hobby butterflies, the main focus of this thread will be creating “kill teams” set in the Badab War conflict as these are far cheaper and easier to make than a full army, and can be used on the tabletop with the official Kill Team rules or a number of unofficial fan-made rule sets. However, after an excellent suggestion by @AHorriblePerson, I also strongly encourage people to create models for the various Badab War characters that were never granted anything more than a passing mention or, at best, a datasheet in one of the two Imperial Armour: Badab War books such as Elam Courbray, Anton Narvaez, and Tarnus Vale on the Loyalist side and Corien Sumatris, Thulsa Kane, and Ahazra Redth on the Secessionist side. GUIDELINES Please note that while the Badab War was an Adeptus Astartes conflict first and foremost, many other factions contributed to the conflict so if you would like to come up with a Kill Team representing one of those underrepresented factions (for example: the human, mutant, and xenos raiders and pirates that plagued the shipping lanes of the Maelstrom Zone, the human elements of the Tyrant’s Legion, the heretek scavengers that Huron used to recover a buried weapons store on Cygnax, the Mechanicus of Angstrom, or even the dreaded forces of the Ordo Hereticus and Inquisitor-Ordinate Talon Encarmidus himself) you are free and very much encouraged to do so. Also note that I strongly encourage you all to post some accompanying lore/story when you post pictures of your models. We are not looking for award-winning writing but adding a bit of flavour to your pictures will enhance the experience for all involved and really cement the idea that your models are part of the tragic Badab War. Finally, Primaris Marines as such have no place here as the Badab War is set in the first two decades of 900.M41, long before the events of the Gathering Storm, the Cicatrix Maledictum, and the Indomitus Crusade. That said using Primaris Marine models for true/art-scale conversions is, naturally, authorised. VOWS OF FEALTY For those of you who would like to “officialise” your commitment to this project you may copy and paste the text below, filling in the blanks while you’re at it to reflect your project, and post it for all to see your fealty to the cause of the Loyalists or the Secessionists. This is non-complusory and only here to help motivate people to get their project done by providing them with a deadline mechanism. MARKS OF AFFILIATION You’re encouraged to include the appropriate "faction" banner in your signature to show your participation and affilitation, though please keep in mind the forum rules regulating the use of signature space. 300x100 px http://bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_12339/gallery_45765_12339_50558.png 300x100 px http://bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_12339/gallery_45765_12339_12035.png RESOURCES For information and inspiration: Lexicanum entry on the Badab War Back to Badab, the original thread Badab War community log by @The Yak Index Astartes Resources, where you can find decals and such for some of the Badab War Chapters Shadow War: Badab, a B&C community effort to give the Badab War Chapters their own rules for the Shadow War: Armageddon game instigated and led by @Brother Tyler To the Bitter End, an Astral Claws log by @Noctus Cornix Truescale Badab War Kill Team, a mixed Loyalist/Secessionist log by @Brother Dallo Clawthorn, an Astral Claws log by @apologist Executioners Kill Team/Raider Group, an Executioners Primaris log by @Crusader of Dorn A Roar amongst the Thorns, an Astral Claws log by @TheTrans The Murderclowns' Lament, a Lamenters and filthy xenos log by @Kinstryfe LM's Lab, a Lamenters log by @Mr Yellow Art Scale Carcharodons, a Carcharodon Astra log by @Trysanna From the Dark they came, a mixed Loyalist (mostly Carcharodon Astra) log by @The Observer In the Ashes of the Thorns, an Astral Claws log by @Soldier of Dorn A reckless disregard for the Codex Astartes, a Raptors log by @The Yak Sanctioned Fratricide, a Minotaurs log by @Freakiq The Space Marine Secret Police!, a Minotaurs log by @Caillum Lucifer's W.o.S.P., a Raptors Primaris (these days at least) log by @Lucifer A Reimagining of the 5th Tyrant's Legion, an Astral Claws log by Mantis Warriors Reborn, a Mantis Warriors Primaris log by @Naryn Sons Of Medusa Blog, a *drumroll* Sons of Medusa Primaris log by To the Bitter End, an Astral Claws log by @Noctus Cornix The Vega III Incident, a mixed Loyalist/Secessionist group project Vengeance is our Redemption, a Mantis Warriors log by @The4thHorseman The Tip of the Claw, an Astral Claws/Tyrant's Legion log by @Leviathus Raptors Taskforce, a *drumroll* Raptors log by @Seathal Siege of the Palace of Thorns, a Tiger Claws log by @Dark Brotherhood The Sons of Medusa, a *drumroll* Sons of Medusa log by @Grey_Death ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS A special thanks to @The Yak for the original incarnation of this concept that was created and run back in 2015. Across a galaxy torn apart by conflict and misery, Traitors and Xenos spill forth from their filthy strongholds. The Imperium is weak and these foul carrion birds spy an opportunity to feast upon the rotting carcasses of the Imperium's loyal defenders, torn assunder by a million wars, brought low by treachery and cowardice. Hundreds of billions die with their names consigned to oblivion, their heroic deeds that should shine as beacons of hope and courage are forgotten or ignored. And yet, one beacon has been lit, its glow and warmth slowly expanding, growing in strength with every passing day, spreading promise and fortitude wherever it goes, whatever it touches. Mankind's staunchest and most loyal defenders have not said their last word and rise yet again to raise their blades and shields against this legion of foes, to throw them out of His domain, to cast them down and eradicate their very presence from the stars. Dorn's children have defended the Emperor and the people of the Imperium for over ten millennia. They shall stand firm and spill the blood of their foes for ten thousand years more. Rise, Sons of Dorn! Mankind calls and we shall answer! Raise your shields and stand firm! Raise your blades and let them taste blood! Foes shall be cast down and glory shall be had! Rise, in the name of Dorn and the Emperor! +] Event thread [+

A tall, thin woman approaches while you are going through your daily weapon drills, alone, in the area adjacent to your personal arsenal. Her auburn hair is pulled back thight into a small bun hiding nothing of her porcelain features. Her dark green robes mark her as a scriptor in the service of Watch-Captain Lucien Ebarra while the gold-threaded decorations along the clothing's hem indicate that she is held in some esteem. She waits for you to finish what you are doing, standing in the low-lit doorway, just within sight so as to show her presence but not otherwise disturb you. She is tense, nervous perhaps. Her eyes never look directly at you but instead dart around the room, looking for something familiar to set her eyes on and finding nothing. Definitely uncomfortable. A wall-mounted servitor, nothing more than a reconstructed torso and head mounted into a small alcove, blurts out the result of today's training and it is above the minimum score required. You put your weapons down onto a grease-stained, rag-covered metal workbench and turn towards the waiting scriptor, curious to know why she has come. As you tower over her, she bows and without looking up at you speaks quickly in a slightly high-pitched voice. "My lord, I hope I am not disturbing. Captain Ebarra has requested that you read this as soon as possible." Before you even have the time to answer she adds: "He did not give any indication as to what it may concern." You turn your gaze to the outstretched hand an dataslate held by it. As you reach to take it, she suddenly withdraws her hands and lets go of it, as if scared to come into physical contact with you. You deftly catch it before it drops to the floor. The scriptor stands there, frozen both in fear and awe, mouth slighlty open and eyes wide. You ignore her momentarily as you concentrate on the contents of the dataslate. After conducting a quick bio-scan, it unlocks itself and reveals a few lines of text. ...[+ // // // // //+]... ...[+DEATHWATCH EYES ONLY+]... ...[+AUTHORISATION GAMMA-02348+]... ...[+ // // // // //+]... ...[+PLEASE COMPLETE MISSING DATA+]... ...Name: N/A ...Age [Terran standard]: N/A ...Rank/specialisation: N/A ...Biography: N/A ...[+AWAITING VERBAL OR WRITTEN INPUT+]... ...[+ // // // // //+]...
