Hi, So, considering the schedule for the first phase of the project Kelborn has put up, thought it might be a good idea to compartmentalize discussion around the different factions and the planet. This thread is for discussing the Planet on which the Warzone is set (and potentially moons?) No polls with this one ;) Please discuss the name of the planet, and any cultural and geographical elements you'd like. Suggesting settings for battles and shadow wars would be a good idea too. I've seen quite a few good ideas for political factions on the planet already, which could make great setting off points for necromunda-style campaigns and RPG campaigns too. I'd also like to see some ideas for characters discussed - who's the Planetary governor? Is the head of the local PDF trustworthy? Why does the ceremonial garb of the ecclesiarchy on this planet look vaguely silvery? ...

Hi, So, considering the schedule for the first phase of the project Kelborn has put up, thought it might be a good idea to compartmentalize discussion around the different factions and the planet. This thread is for discussing the Adeptus Mechanicus involvement in the warzone. Should there be a necron cult? If so, are they the only adeptus mechanicus forces that appear or will there be a hidden enemy theme? If there are several Adeptus Mechanicus forces, should they come from the same forge world (or forge system), or should several be involved? Should they be "normal" forge world arch/magoses, or perhaps should some be from an Explorator fleet? Should there be admech elements on world in force prior to the emergence of the necron cult (for example, tasked with maintaining the hive-city dredgers which are the first to turn up xenotech...) or should they all come in after the beginning of the war?

Hi, So, considering the schedule for the first phase of the project Kelborn has put up, thought it might be a good idea to compartmentalize discussion around the different factions and the planet. This thread is for discussing the Astra Militarum and Inquisitorial presence on the world (I figured I'd lump them together as there'll probably be less discussion surrounding them and we don't want to have toooo many threads in the Liber :P) So yeah, put forward any regimental homeworld ideas, heroic guardsman kill teams, and dastardly inquisitors that might wish to take part. I love the look of Vostroyan firstborns, and think they deserve more screen time. While I think the Ordo Xenos is an obvious choice of inquisitor taking part, is it not too obvious? As there was a lot of discussion around the Dia de los Muertos necron cultists, perhaps an Ordo Hereticus is sent to investigate first, before the Imperium is able to discover necron involvement (by which time it's too late for the Ordo Xenos to send their own representative). Further, if we do create an Adeptus Mechanicus bio-transferance cult, the Ordo Machinum might be alerted to weird happenings on their home Forge World/Ark Mechanicum/Explorator Fleet?

Hi, So, considering the schedule for the first phase of the project Kelborn has put up, thought it might be a good idea to compartmentalize discussion around the different factions and the planet. This thread is for discussing the Necron Dynasty/Dynasties participating in the project. So, I'll admit to not necessarily being up to date with the latest Necron developments, my knowledge base for them dating back to 5th edition, so if other members have more stuff to add in terms of questions or clarifications, please do so :D The first question regards whether we should pick up an existing Canonverse dynasty to take part - I've seen a few that could perhaps fit the bill, though can't remember the names off the top of my head; or if we should create a new group DIY - unless I'm mistaken I don't think there are any existing group DIYs out there? As opposed to the Space Marines chapter choices, I think creating a Dynasty wholecloth is more feasible within the scope of this project. Necron dynasties generally have less lore and less complexity in their writing, and there's definitely a good amount of development room. The second question regards how many sub-factions should we focus on for them: should there be a single all-encompassing Dynasty taking part? Perhaps a rival dynasty is trying to take over the tomb world? Perhaps there's a complex web of interlocking political factions all vying for control of the dynasty? Has a Destroyer cult taken root in the tomb world and is now trying to infect the denizens that are yet to awaken?

Hi, So, considering the schedule for the first phase of the project Kelborn has put up, thought it might be a good idea to compartmentalize discussion around the different factions and the planet. This thread is for discussing the Space Marine Chapter(s) which will be participating in the project. So, to start the discussion, I've posted a poll, inquiring whether we should include canon chapters and/or group DIYs (to avoid any feelings of favouritism, I don't think its a good idea to include members' pet projects, for example my own Dread Lords). I've included an option for coming up with a whole new group DIY for this project, but I personally feel that might distract from the aim of the general project, which is to create a warzone and flashpoint series, as opposed to an n-th Index Astartes article. The second "question" actually has two questions, one with the number of chapters to focus on in the article (three seems to me the upper limit that can reasonably be achieved for a project like this, but feel free to convince me otherwise ) and the other about whether the participating factions should be set in stone (like, we know all the chapters that took part in the badab war, it's hard for someone to come in with their DIY and say they were hunting for Huron on Badab) or if it should be a war on a scale where we aren't certain if there may have been chapters that aren't discussed that participated (for example the thirteenth black crusade or Vigilus) The third poll question is to do with the size of the Space Marine involvement in the Warzone, I don't think it needs any more clarification? Anyway, please discuss why you voted for which option, and give suggestions as to what chapters you might like to see I'll kick it off with: I'd quite like to see a return of the Taurans, but I also liked the look of the Hospitallers, perhaps paired with an Iron Hands successor (if not the Iron Hands themselves), eg Brazen Claws. I also think the Storm Lords have a cool colour scheme. I think keeping it to canon chapters increases the chance of finding someone willing to share photos of their models for such an article, which would obviously make the finished product look cooler. From a more selfish perspective, I have some Primaris marines from the Dark Imperium and Shadowspear boxsets that I'd be interested in painting up for this project, and I'm looking for a challenging colour scheme to improve my skills
