Hello everyone)
8th edition just started… and I've also decided to make a new start. From all the options, I've chosen to start my little Astra Militarum group - may be it will evolve into an army, may be will stay on the kill team level, I don't know) Why AM? My inspiration came from the Penal Legion - now I am finishing the second book, and strange, but after all the glories and fame of Space Marines, and especially new Primaris (which I don't like as an idea, please forgive me) - that side of war seems more… realistic. More grimdark, because - hey, Custodes, Sisters of Silence, Primaris - all these are fighting with chaos and evil… But AM is fighting with these threats also! And they are just ordinary men, without any enhancements or superpowers. And they are still successful!
Anyway, now I am here in AM forum, building and painting my first miniatures.
Galaxy is torn by wars on countless planets. And there are so many mistakes in all this chaos, and so many victims. Wrong drop coordinates - in the burning hell of battle instead of secure zone, wrong orders, lost squads in the deep rear, forgotten troops during evacuations or suicidal missions without any hope of return - all this is a reality of war. All these men were left to die or used as a pawns in a great chessgame. But some men just refuse to die so simple.
They are Deadmen - counted as dead, those who managed to survive in direst cases, on the planets swarmed with enemies, deathworlds or most cruel warzones. But their service is not over, and their fight contunues. Loners, guerilla war professionals, surgical strikers and just killers and scavengers, they were gathered and led by their dread commander. Who guides them now and who are they taking orders from - is unknown. Inquisition? Or may be, they are on their own crusade? Deadmen are specialized on a kill a leader missions, guerilla war in the deep rear, terroristic actions and dirty tactics.
Chosen painting scheme is rather simple - city camo, rather pale colours - because, hey, killers and terrorists do not wear shiny coloured armor trimmed with gold!
And the last thing - I do not have much time for painting, plus I do it very sloow, so for my little team there will be one post for a model. To make this little collection more fun for me, a post will contain… photos of the model plus - a Song that associates with that model. So if you like Militarum Tempestus and good old rock - welcome!
For the start - something about Storms and Tempests:
