WIP Black Falcon Chapter Master

Heru

Recommended Posts

This is my Chapter Master for my Black Falcons Chapter, who is also my namesake gamewise. He's made from a combination of kits namely the plastic Terminator boxset (Storm Bolter and Armour), the Terminator Assault Squad boxset (Lightning Claw), and a helmet from the Black Templar upgrade sprue.

The Lightning Claw gamewise is the only master-crafted item that the Black Falcons have called the Falcon's Talon (Master-crafted Lightning Claw)* it'll be painted gold and silver to represent the fact it isn't just any old Lightning Claw.

Sorry about already having the model primed, the sunlight though does help bring out the details.

*See more on the Master-crafted items and the Black Falcons in my Nexus League thread at the Astartes Vocates DIY Chapter forums.

Looking good so far. Nice pose, very realistic and commanding. The only observastions I have are that being a chapter master should he have more decoration or possibly a backbanner? Also I would give the model another once-over before painting as I see a few mold lines still (mainly on the power cables).

Apart from a backbanner and a dynamic base I don't really know what else I could add to the model without making it look cluttered.

You see I never see these other mold lines until I take I high quality picture of a base coated/painted model... better get the craft knife out...

It may be too late, but I would take the vent thing off the top of the helmet. Except for a few rare exceptions, PA helmets always look a little weird just stuck on a temi body. You should cange it a little, at least, if only because it's your chapter master.

On a side note, you have almost an identical color scheme as my very first original marine chapter. Cheers

I think I'll keep the vent, the helmet wouldn't be the same without it. Besides it's not any old PA helmet (man would those look bad...). Plus fluffwise it's an artificer armour helmet...

Yours were Black and Purple too? When did you create your original Chapter?
