The Predator is looking great mate, the colour looks goodover such a large area, and i'm really liking the conversion now that there is some paint on it.

The sniper rifle looks good too, although i think the scope is maybe a little too thick.but thats a minor criticism.

Good stuff man!

glad i could help you get your project started HJL ~smiles~. good luck with those scouts, i hope you can post pics up on B&C of your progress. cheers.

hey chaplainmikey, thanks for the vote of confidence on the Predator. i did about 4 layers of dry brushing to achieve that final colour, this is prior to giving it a wash with Thrakka green.

the conversion wasnt massive but with the Ceramite/Plasteel armour plates, they change the overall look of the Predator and give it a more menacing appearance.

the sniper rifle uses various parts including part of a Bolt pistol, a Marine Flamer and the scope from the Lascannon from the plastic Heavy weapons frame. i personally like the scope as its supposed to be a very powerful set of optics with various modes including night vision so it will be quite big. anyways cheers for reading. ~smiles~

just some updates on what i was doing tonight, theres some Company Veteran conversions and the early stages of the Dreadnought painting.

thanks wiplash for the comments regarding the Storm Shield ~smiles~ and the Dreadnought Heavy Flamer is from the old Landspeeder Tornado kit, the one with the metal heavy weapons. i bought several of those old kits and i still have the weapons in my bitz collection.

Hey Kanan ! Well I thought I'd read through the WHOLE thread again to remind myself of everything you were up to, it took several cups of tea and many Jammie dodgers !!! Your work rate is incredible you put me to shame ! it's all looking awesome but everytime I look at your stuff I end up skint  keep up the amazing work and as soon as I'm able to get cracking again I'll post some stuff you're bound to recognise, well if your gonna rob ideas, rob from the best !!! many thanks mate, catch you later.

Hey

I forgot just how much you updated in my time away from the B&C. Right.

The landspeeders look lush, tbh i actually prefer it with a closed and painted canopy,it somehow looks right. It looks like the guys inside were worried about enemy fire and completed closed themselves in,with just slots for them to see from.

The dread looks nasty, but in the right way.The colours looking good cant wait to see it done. I also look forward to seeing the rest of your squad painted up.

Quick question,i noticed on a few of your models you have a small handle on the front of the bolter, just behind the barrell.Where is this piece from,as i wouldent mind putting some on my models.

The land raider with the extra plate armour looks really menacing, and is definatly a similar look to one im planning for the future.

Keep up the good work, your an inspiration to us all.

hey Rossco, long, long time no speak. im glad you made an appearance ~smiles~ im also glad you had a read through the old WIP thread again, how do you feel about the choice of green for my Veterans and did you like the Dreadnought? theres also some stuff i was working on secretly but all will be revealed here.

i came across a new model kit in 1/35th by AFV Club. theyre close to Tamiya on build and quality but there instructions arent as good. all in all very happy with what i got and i finished the majority of the build this morning. so i hope you enjoy the pics. speak soon mate

hello there Red Dragon, and i will say this once more, long, long time no speak. its good to know youre still alive ~smiles~ thanks for the praise regarding the Landspeeders specifically the enclosed Tsunami/Tempest variant. cheers mate.

yah im liking how the Dreadnought is coming along so far, chk back later in the week as there will be updates on some of the painting projects including the Dread.

i think you may mean my Predator MKII with all the ablative armour, and i look forward to seeing your version.

are you still updating your WIP thread these days??? anyways thanks again for all the kind words, i really appreciate it as well as all the interest shown by you and everyone else over the past year and a half.

my stuff is what it is because of all the decent ideas and feedback people have given me in that time. many thanks.

and now without further delay here are pics of the Stryker M1126 ICV, or as my DA will classify it, the Hurricane APC.

hey Red Dragon, i forget to tell you where the Boltgun fore-grips came from. you know when you cut the pistol grip from the Boltgun or whatever Marine weapon, before you glue it to one of the 'firing arms' well keep it as thats what i use. hope you get round to converting some of your Boltguns.

cheers

the hurricane looks pretty good so far, but i'd recommend putting some armor over the sides to obscure the wheels (they would be rather easy to blow out with 40ks technology dont you think?)

there easy to blow OFF (not out) with todays technology, but they don't put covers over them still

thanks The Chaplain for giving me a good idea to convert the model further. the thing is it looks pretty neat with all 8 wheels showing so what i may do is have the extra armour as detachable. well we shall see, perhaps a trip to my artshop to procure some plasticard or thin foam board.

and King Tiger you are indeed correct modern wheeled armoured vehicles do not have additional armour covering the exposed wheels, i guess current thinking is the additional weight would be detrimental to performance and also would make repairs on any of the wheels more complicated and time consuming in the field. also debris from traversing rough terrain could build up between the wheels and the armoured panels and result in the vehicle becoming bogged down/stuck.

more pics of the Hurricane APC with chaos black undercoat. cheers.

my jaw dropped from your models

very nice :D

but don't you think that the heavy flamer sponsons are somewhat too ''blood angel'' like? because the BAAL is not only the only one wich has assault cannons, but also havy flamers, and that's what makes them unique. an: a DA predator; couldn't he better be out-plams'd with 2 side plasma cannons

(because i thought DA were plasma users)

aaaaaaahhhhh whatever.... nice models!!!!! ;)

purity seal wothy!

8-wheeled APC looking good kanan. I like the way you incorporate a few 40k bits into your models so they look more authentic and 'familiar'. It's almost trickery - of a good kind .

The Deathwing Dread – it looks promising but needs considerable lightening from it's current burnt looking state. But they effect once properly unified should be stunning. Gotta love auto-cannon arms for star quality looks too eh?

Cheers

Awesome work Kanan. I'm really liking ALL the conversion work you've done. Which is a hellov a lot.

I, like most forumers, joined this thread recently, and just now started reading it. Reading it metaphorically...I dot really feel like reading all 11 pages, except for fluff, and pictures. I read the first two, and decided that I'll just skim pictures to save time. And the conversions got better and better!

The only one I thought was a tad funky, was the Stalker Pattern speeder. The airfoil thing looks a bit out of place...The speeder itself is pretty boxy, and then the airfoil is roundish.

I'm also glad that you aren't like most people, and just delete old pics, because I find that extremely annoying, when I open a thread, and find that half the pictures have been deleted, so all I get is a little white box with no picture!

I like the way that its all conversions, conversions, then all of a sudden PAINT! Great stuff. I really like that dreadnought too, for some odd reason(before it got paint). Once it got paint, it looks awesome! As a former DA player, I know how hard it is to paint DW,and tested many formulas, and my drybrushing never turned out that nice! (though, I hope you'll be making it much lighter..)

On the InfamousAgenda deal...(for some reason, that was at the page where I started reading again...at the top, and got me interested(not interested in the thread, in the argument)) From reading what he posted, I felt that it was completely valid. It wasn't super demotivating or anything (coming from a 3rd person standpoint, completely unbiased atm) I didn't feel that the wording seemed overly rude or whatnot, (probably cuz thats how I normally talk..) he was just saying that you should "get some paint to brush!" I thought it was semi-humorus. The hair thing was a bit much though. And then when he was talking about drybrushing, it seemed to me like he was just giving you a tip.

No need to fly off the handle..I obviously got here way after your post was edtited...and the people after that..why would you respond like that? THAT is unnecessary. Saying someones name sums up someone...maybe YOU should all edit your replies. Though, its still a good thing that you're defending Kanan

Good stuff Kanan *watching

Wow i really like the apc,it really reminds me of the Apc in the aliens film.

Great thing is too is that it looks big enough to house a squad of marines, unlike the small rhino models.

I also really like the look of the missile launcher on the model, just appears so cool to me.

Good work and hope we will be seeing pics of the dread again soon.
