What I'm working on at the moment

hey thanks Red-Dragon, sorry for the late reply, ive just been busy with RL anyways the tsunami weapons arent silenced although i like the idea. i just wanted to make the barrels a bit longer is all. they look good now so im happy. i revised the weapon layout for the Tsunami Variants, now the sensor array on all of them has been ditched and this particular one is the first to recieve the new nose mounts. greendestiny followed my design for the Tsunami in one of his WIP threads and that made me very happy and i got the revised sensor mount from him (thank you greendestiny!)

thanks for the praise on the tattoo design, im gonna get it done this year either my hand small or on my shoulder medium sized with some words, not sure what though. anyways good to see you back on here, and i look forward to seeing your work on here soon. many thanks mate.

hey King Tiger, well i understand why the design may not be to your taste and obviously the armament isnt legal but thanks for the comment ~smiles~ hows things going with your projects? anything in the pipeline? anyways look forward to hearing from you soon.

ok well right now im working on the Predator with the Tamiya Ablative Armour which is coming along quite nicely, pics will follow around the weekend and im about a quarter of my way through painting up a veteran which might be finished some time friday. theres also a rhino that has just had some Forgeworld Spaced Armour added to it which now just needs tracks and other details before its ready for paint. ok well ill post up the pics when ive finished more. thanks for all the interest everyone.

Hail fellow Battle-Brothers, seems like its been around 5 months since i last posted on here, anyways i was tinkering with one of my Predators and after seeing a 1/35 Bandai kit of a twin barrelled MBT from the Gundam universe i decided to modify one of my Marine tanks. so after choosing the Autocannon equipped Predator Destructor i set about removing the sensor pod carefully with plastic clippers and then with my modelling knife. once i smoothed down the surface with a flat file i then went through my spare Marine tank bits and found an unused Predator Autocannon.

i carefully cut the turret halves seperating the sensor pod part from the main barrel with my Tamiya razor saw then i got my modellers knife and carefully cut along the base of the sloped part of the barrel. i did this with the other half of the autocannon then glued the two Autocannon halves with liquid plastic cement. i then cut a small square of clear plastic from some packaging from a Tamiya kit. the plastic is around a 1/3 of a mm thick, then i glued this to the top of the turret slop where the Autocannon will be glued. this was done to fill a slight gap between the fit of the Autocannon to the main turret. once glued with ZAP CA Cyanoacrylate for plastic i left the whole turret to dry vertically attached to my desk with blue tack to ensure the Autocannon barrel wouldnt move from the position it was glued in. so without further delay please enjoy the pics of the completed Predator.

hey King Tiger i did indeed paint a model ~smiles~ it was a test mini and the rest of the vets in question will all be painted along similar lines. perhaps ill include helmet markings or stripes to differentiate squads ect. but yah i like how it turned out so far. now onto what i was doing in the early hours of this morning, using a can of Humbrol Grass Green acrylic spray, i gave a base coat to the DA Hurricane and the Predator. you will of course notice that this shade of green is alot lighter than dark angel green however i am going to darken it will some washes of Badab Black mixed with Thrakka green. then work back up to mid tones and highlights of Dark Angel Green mixed with a little Snot Green & Golden Yellow to get the progressively lighter shades i will need for the highlights.

anyways here are the pics. comments and criticism welcome

ok well heres the DA Hurricane after a wash of Badab Black, then a wash of Thrakka Green, then a wash of Dark Angel Green. this is before highlights will be applied in the form of a dry brush of Dark Angel Green mixed with a little Snot Green, then another dry brush along the edges of the armour with Dark Angel Green, a little Snot Green and a tiny amount of Golden Yellow.

any comments regarding the base colour would be welcome bearing in mind this is a Dark Angel vehicle.

many thanks in advance

Hey Kanan, was really good to see these 'in the flesh' (so to speak) the other day. The pictures on here make them look cool, but they just get better when seen!

I'm especially fond of the tsunami's, I think the idea behind that really fits nicely with the feel of the Land Speeder variants.

The paint scheme is all coming together nicely too, but far be it from me to offer painting advice on Power Armour! I'm still trying to work out how to get some nice effects out of my Salamanders and Space Wolves without them looking fresh out of a 1980's Saturday Morning cartoon...

hail fellow Battle-Brothers sorry for the long absence, real life often takes time out of the hobby but over the next few weeks i am going to be back in the painting/converting spirit ~grins~ i do hope all of your fireworks celebrations have been enjoyable and rain free. i had a great evening biking on my Scott MTB and enjoying the light show later in the night near where i live. and soon it will be xmas, for me i would like to get more time gaming at Heroes & Legends, my local gaming store partly owned and run by a close friend of mine. the atmosphere there is amazing and all the regulars and staff are just top people. apart from that hopefully regular updates and more models converted and painted.

hey Mjordin thanks for the reply, it was good to see you at GW Kingston that evening and i am glad you like the concept of the Tsunami which i developed and refined the past several years. you are too kind sir ~smiles~ and i wish you well with your Salamander and Space Wolf armies, i hope you get some more units painted to a standard you are happy with. like anything you will always be the most critical judge of your own work but if you are happy with the results then no doubt they will be outstanding! catch you on the flip-side mate.

haha yes King Tiger i do remember that situation rather well, more often than not a game will result in my Dark Angels famous last stand followed by the usual outcome of being wiped out to a man ~grins~ anyways it was good to see you over the summer, hopefully it wont be too long before i see you again. have a good few weeks and hope you have a great xmas.

catch you later ~smiles~

hey everyone... just in the process of finishing the build of my Storm Talon... which my room mate has dubbed the douche bug! lolz... anyways should have it finished tonight so there will be more updates later... not sure how i will convert it as i may just build it vanilla with lascannons but perhaps with some kind of missile system rather than the stock options for the missile pods... we shall see...

and we have one assembled and undercoated Storm Talon aka Douche Bug lolz. i also have ideas for a second and third which will be heavily converted with my usual more guns policy approach. photo shows the scale comparison quite well with one of my converted Atramis Airwing Valkyrie Vengeance pattern flyers... any ideas for conversions or any comments welcome. many thanks.

Lovong the APC, it looks suitably realistic due to the way its been painted, I love the weathering.

I also used a warhog to make a white scars jet along with a slightly smaller jet for a BA version. thanks for the pics of teh strom talon, I wanted to see more views of it which you have provided, not sure about it still, will need to the actual model in teh flesh.

thanks Beef ~smiles~. i love the 1/35th AFV Club Stryker too. so i bought three, the mine sweeper one and 2 of the ICV ones. oh and yeah i am glad you liked the paint work so far, i am currently painting the Storm Talon but will be working on the Stryker (SM Hurricane) tonight too so there will be quite alot of pics going up later on. and i like you also have a fondness for 1/48 modern day aircraft for use with 40K. bravo Sir!

i think they add a unique look to any loyalist army and i think the large GW flying bases are really handy. are you able to get them in packs or on their own or do they only come with the large flyer kits? and i figured a few people would like to see some better close up pics of the Storm Talon hence me putting them up. i wasnt sure about the Storm Talon either but i love aircraft and i had to get one even though i didnt like the Storm Raven/Storm Pigeon at all. the Forge World Storm Eagle is a far better kit in my opinion but yeah when we meet up for a game youll get to see the Storm Talon and make your own mind up.

catch you on the flipside

+++ EDIT +++

one of my favourite planes in the whole world is the A-10 Warthog/Thunderbolt II and also the F-15 Eagle (any version but the Japanese F-15J is lovely)
