What I'm working on at the moment

lol. jamie it is good to keep your eyes open when your are out and about for stuff you can use for your basing needs. little plants that you can then spray with 3M spray mount so they dont deteriorate or little twigs and pieces of stone, and of course, sand from the beach!. thing is for convenience it is easier to go down the GW route and if anyones interested i can post up pics of the contents of some of the little tubs. in one of them you get lots of resin basing extras! 2 of each and i think there are like 86 in total.

You have random gw bits in your garden. :)

No but seriously the resin part have realy disapointed me. Don't get me wrong there are a few really cool things in there but most of it is just really random gw bits on gw sand and than cast into resin. If they at least had bothered to make it look somewhat naturall but all those helmets just are upright and some of the bits are simply stupid. I mean who want's to put his minis on a base with a grenade lying just in front of his feet. But the edged brass that comes it is what is really cool and I was thinking of buying another one simply to get a second sheet.

So really I have mixed feelings but overal I must say its a good set.

I'm using really everything I can lay my hands on :tu: From the gw basing materials (I live in a flat, sadly in a city without a beach ;) ) to sprue, left over bits, stuff I see at my local hobby store or cork from whine bottles. The only thing I try not to use is things that could rot or decay.

not on bases, but I have used it for fantasy terraine. It looks really nice and I could imagine using ist for basing I just never have had a army themed in such a way. Best thing to glue it with is pva preferably quick-drying because it is a bit springy and you might have to hold it in place until it has setteled a bit. The only problem is that I have found it to dry up a bit with time.

So enough thread hijacking :tu:

ok heres what i plan on putting on my bases as i am making a themed gaming table. it will have lots of lush vegetation and hills with some rock formations and some ruined buildings. theres will be a corner, around a 1/4 that will gradually become desert.

this company also makes a special glue for gluing foliage to plastic, wood ect.

AH HAH! i found ya!

and i realised ive actually read up on this thread a fair few times too :D

Im here at work with Vhizsi

aaaannnd on topic: i noticed you put a "silencer" on one of your marines. im doing that too for my chaos. but im going all out on customisation of weapons... as in all weapons count as bolters but they are all modified i added an extended clip to one, shortened its chassis, the Suppressor and so on.... i want to play Call of Duty 4 now :D i also lengthened the chassis on another and added the suppressor and a long-rifle scope using two normal space marine scopes.

so how many points do you have of DAs now?

and come to think of it, how long have you been collecting/playing?

and when are ya getting me that Baneblade? :P hehehehe just kidding.

ill add you as a friend.. and My Thread is the only one in my profile "Sairus' Neo Imperial Conglomerate" or some such thing.

i want to see your Vets Completed too!

you get a Purity Seal!

This is such an entertaining thread. So much energy and design going on. Very inspiring. Is the Ork/Angelina picture a play on Beauty and the Beast?

Anyways great thread and ALOT to paint and work on. This thread could easily go another year with all that work ahead, literally... :D

hey stella cadente, cheers for the comment and dont worry about it not showing up in the thread. you still commented and i appreciate it. i need to get some units painted so i can post them up here as and when they get finished. the orks wont be started until the spring time. theyre so i have two decent armies to play at home when i have company. the orks seem like a lot of fun with the new codex. but thats not for this forum lol. anyways ill speak to you soon take care bud.

kastor, in answer to your first question, i technically have over 4000 pts as i have ALOT of stuff still in boxes waiting to get prepped and assembled. maybe more. as to your second question, i started playing warhammer fantasy battle first edition when i was 9 and i also played warhammer fantasy role play, talisman and mega city one. then i moved onto rogue trader. which is basically 1st edition warhammer 40K and the first miniatures i ever had were space orks and eldar pirates. im 30 now so i have been in the hobby for 21 years. ok i cant get you a baneblade but i can certainly get one in the new year and convert it up. when i do i will be sure to post up pics. i think ill paint a few vets over the next few days and actually stick at it and not get side tracked with other stuff. pics will go up soon. tell Vhizsi i say hi. anyways speak soon ok, takecare mate

Master Toddius, wow thanks for the praise. i really appreciate your comments. and i think what youre doing with your Dark Angels is amazing. it is good to have a fellow DA player pushing the boundries with conversions ect. as to the last pic i just happened to put the codex down on my bed on top of the film preview mag i get occasionally. lol. i didnt intend for it to come out the way it did but you know what it is a good pic of angelina ~smiles~ she is a major babe, swing! anyways im gonna go chk your thread and see what you have came up with. speak soon

and to all of you guys on B&C, have a great xmas and new years.

Hi Kanan,

First of all, i feel kind of dumb giving you the advice to start a wip-thread, but hey....in my defence there are many threads to keep track of... Especially with you DA-people. You guys are a creative lot and there seem to be many DA-players in the pc&a aspect of the hobby. :D

Oh well, i must say, it sure looks like you have a lot of fun converting and comming up with new sollutions. I really like the speeders. Didn't think the predator sponsons would fit so well, but they really seem to work. If possible, if it's not too much work, i'd like some more photos of those from diffrent angels (like from above and from the rear and so forth). Because i might just use that myself since i've been thinking of maybe going the da-route as far as rules go with my own marines. I belive that those sponsons might be very fitting for a Sammael speeder.

Keep up the good work,

Cheers!

Desert Eagle i do not mind at all gettting some pics up. i am actually uploading them to photo bucket now. with regards to my Tsunami variants i could also take some tutorial type pics of the two speeders i was building which are still only partly assembled now. ie of how i got the sponsons to fit so well ect. there was a little cutting with a scalpel involved and the use of epoxy putty as a filler. if that is what you would also like to see then let me know as i can take pics later on tonight as i build the speeders. they got sidelined while i have been playing C&C3 and other such distracting stuff lol.

oh i made a variant sniper rifle. it is supposed to be based on the basic bolter but modified with a longer higher grade material barrel which is also fitted with a suppressor. it has a 7 round magazine and is semi-automatic fire capability. the weapon comes with a standard marine scope which also has a night vision and electromag modes. i assume that in the dark a tyranid doesnt betray a heat signiture therefore an electromagnetic mode would prove useful for detecting them. oh it is the one on the bottom left. the bottom right weapon is a prototype combat shotgun for use by marines. it is fully automatic and fires 3 types of round. penetrator rounds which are rocket assisted like a bolter round with an armour piercing tip. scatter shot which is a standard scatter type shotgun round but instead of pellets uses tiny darts with a mono-filament umbrella at one end. great for shredding organic targets. and lastly hell blight rounds which are solid shot rocket assisted rounds that have been blessed and consecrated for use against the forces of chaos.

Stella Cadente, glad you liked my weapon conversions. are you still looking to sell your Dark Angels as there maybe someone on here who would like to buy them from you. not sure how you would go about it as you do not want to incur the wrath of the Holy Inquisition lol.

Brother Bohemund, well for a game which involves a player you dont know and who isnt how shall i say brave or up for the challenge then use them as a standard land speeder tornado with the appropriate weapon configuration ie heavy bolter or multi-melta and assault cannon or Heavy Flamer. but in a friendly game with a player who is up for it then use them as 2X heavy bolters (NOT twin linked) and an assault cannon though some of my variants carry a nose mounted multi-melta. also glad you liked my variant bolters ~smiles~

Yeah, thanks mate. As i said, should i go the da-route there is a very high probability i'll use those for sammaels speeder in some sort of way, i like them. The shot from above kind of gives the speeder the shape of an A-wing, doesn't it? Maybe the thrusters could be re-fitted right behind the heavy bolters? And by all means, i'll gladly have a look at how you work out the fit.

Cheers!
