What I'm working on at the moment

thanks King Tiger, yah i like the ForgeWorld spaced armour alot. i tried making my own version of extra armour but it doesnt look as good as this.

thank you Brother Caedrius for the comments, i hope you have alot of fun building your Tsunami as i did. i was looking through my parts bin and i found some of the early Tsunami prototypes. i think i will go back and fill in the gaps and maybe tidy them up a bit. anyways have fun with your next project :D

hey thanks SeattleDV8 for the praise. which Predator did you mean? the one with ForgeWorld parts or the one on the previous page whith parts from a Tamiya 1/35th kit?

cheers wargamingbunker for the comments, gamewise i think you have a valid point about that Multi-Melta wielding TDA Marine. i tend to put at least a couple of those chainfists in a squad but still losing him in a game is not really very helpful. i am really glad you like the extended chainfists :)

hey LuNCHBiZZLe, glad to meet a fellow converter. i think this simple hull plate swap does alot for the look of the Predator, kinda reminds me of a British (AFV) Scorpion, the recessed turret combined with the ForgeWorld spaced armour really looks nice. though the resin parts needed to be immersed in luke warm water and dry fit to the Predator to ensure i could straighten out the warpage. there is a little gap at the base of one of the plates which some greenstuff should put right. anyways thanks for the kind words. i will eventually get round to painting some of my models :)

heya Android Kain, im glad the Tsunami is a big hit with you. i have made a version of the Tempest but this Variant lacks the Tsunami side mounted Heavy Bolters, it looks ok but i want to smooth out some of the kinks before i feel happy to put paint to model. are you going to make a Tsunami Variant yourself? and thanks for the comments mate. makes me smile that theres still plenty of interest in what i do on my thread.

cheers everybody

ok well i took a break from watching Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex to come up with this guy. hes based on the GW tyranid hunter model with all the Ultramarine icons cut and filed away. that left me with alot of empty space so after a rummage in my bits box i came up with some suitable plastic bits to embellish him with. not a big conversion really but i am happy with the results. anyways comments and criticism welcome.

That tsunami land speeder looks great. Usually land speeders look a bit flimsy but with the extra bits of armour/guns it looks dangerous.

As far as the points for such a creation is concerned I'd always add on an extra 10pts or so to represent the rareness and extra work thats gone into it by the techmarine.

Lots of interesting and inspiring conversions which i always like to see.

Kanan- It was the Forge World bits Predator. Just the placement of the turret gave the whole a elegant look. (odd way to describe a warmachine , but thats the way it hit me) Thanks for sharing and extra thanks for getting me back into creative mode.

hey chaplainmikey cheers for the comment ~smiles~ yah i am glad you like the Combi-Melta, madscuzzy converted some of his Bolters for his Sternguard and the inspiration came from there. oh and its actually an ammo box cut off a Storm Bolter on the plastic Terminators sprue. i hope that helps.

ok i just came up with this concept. a Space Marine fighting in close combat with his fists ~grins~ its no where near complete but this is what he looks like thus far.

Your vet is basically what I'm doing as well. I bought the BT Sword Bretheren + about 8 other pewter vets and converted them with a little green stuff and plastic da symbols. I think yours came out great.

I dig the extended bolter conversions as well. I've been using 1/8" tubing myself on my bolters.

Good stuff as usual. Keep pushin on.

hey there Master Toddius, great to see you on here after so long ~smiles~ thanks for the comments regarding that Tyranid Hunter i converted, i think its ok but if i took more time and maybe used different bits it would have been better. i am though working on a new tank for my Dark Angels based one a Tamiya 1/35th Challenger II Iraqi Freedom and some serious delving into my bits. i may even get that ForgeWorld Macharius Vulcan and just use the Mega Bolter turret on my conversion but we shall see. anyways i hope all is well with you.

ok well i just finished a few more Veteran models so here they are...

here are the two vets with left handed weapons which were a little tricky to do.

i ditched the punching arms for this model and gave him weapons so hes more useful in game terms

I quite like the vets to be honest, vets are rather skilled and so will be more precise in aiming and might like to try odd show-off shots.

Either that or or the guns to heavy to be held normaly!

I really like the variant of the bolter on the last guy,i'm wanting to do some variants myself,so mind if i borrow this one?

hey King Tiger, thanks for the comments, and no they werent meant to look 'gangsta' they just seem that way to you ~sticks tongue out at you~ i just wanted a more marksmanship style aiming with their weapons so i cut up a couple of lefty Dark Angel Power Sword arms and attached the modified bolters to them. to be honest i think they appear to be sighting carefully down their Boltguns to lay down a 3 round burst of suppresive fire against an enemy.

thanks chaplainmikey for the kind words. glad you like my variant Boltgun though others have done similar before me. so please feel free to borrow the idea. just make sure when you cut the pistol grip from the Boltgun that its a straight cut otherwise your foregrip will be wonky/askew.

the suppressor is a length of cotton bud tubing cut to fit and then filed so the end is completely flat, this ensures the new suppressor sits right and is in alignment with the weapon. ive done some other bolter conversions, i think i may have posted some of them a few pages back in this thread but my more recent attempts were inspired by the stirling work of a fellow Battle-Brother madscuzzy, so do check out his WIP as its much more awesome than mine ~smiles~

best regards

Liking the look of them so far,and will definitley be keeping my eye on them as you progress.

Where did you get the chained body for the marine second from right? Is it actual chain or part of the model?

Also i'm liking the colour so far on the lighter green vet,i think its a nice shade of green for dark angels,id certainly be happy with my marines that colour!

thanks chaplainmikey for the comments. the Marine youre refering to was made using chain i got from a bracelet purchased at Claires Accesories. these were very cheap and offer a great source for this particular chain which i find is the perfect scale for W40K. i want to use it on that Predator with the Spaced Armour.

the light green Veteran was a test model just to see if i could find an alternative green for my DA. glad you liked it so far. ill post some more updates later on to show how the colour scheme is coming along.

catch you later mate
