bodde
It has been a while seen I posted last time. After I finished my Grey Knight army I was enqurage to make a tutorial for my bases. One month ago we played a local tornument, finished in the midle of the feild with my GK's. The ydid a good job out there. For that tournument I made two objective markers in the same way as the other bases. So here comes my quick guide to Gothic style stone floor bases: 1. Take a base offcorse 2. Cut 1x1cm 0.5mm plasticard pices 3. Glue them onto the base http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k277/bodde_2006/GK_base_1_m.jpg 4. Work with a knife to get nice edges and and the right stone feeling, maybe add some sand also http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k277/bodde_2006/GK_base_2_m.jpg 5. Give it a basecoat and add some thick gloss varnish to give it more structure http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k277/bodde_2006/GK_base_3_m.jpg 6. A layer of codex grey http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k277/bodde_2006/GK_base_4_m.jpg 7. A bath in black inc http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k277/bodde_2006/GK_base_5_m.jpg 8. Dry brusch codex grey http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k277/bodde_2006/GK_base_6_m.jpg 9. Dry brusch ghostly grey http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k277/bodde_2006/GK_base_7_m.jpg 10. Dry brusch skull white http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k277/bodde_2006/GK_base_8_m.jpg 11. Add some static gras if you like http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k277/bodde_2006/GK_base_9_m.jpg 12. Also I add some gloss varnish to give them a nice finish but not shown here. Enjoy

The Angelus Sanctus
Very nice tutorial there with the stone bases, well done! Been trying to find a way to get some nice stone/tile bases for my Sisters of Battle, and i have to admit, this method definitely looks like it has the best results. Tanhausen
Very nice bases! When I saw the first pic... I didn't expect much, to be honest! But the final effect is very very nice!
Atticus_Ross
Bought the stuff, made the plasticard squares. Going to attempt this in a snow like environment instead of grass!
