Looks fun. I like the variety of units. They seem like they'll all work well together, and together allow you a fair bit of flexibility. I do see some areas for improvement in the details...

Leutenant

-Power Weapon

-Bolt Pistol

-Mutation

-Strength

-Sorcerer

-Doombolt

-Mark of Undivided

Drop Mutation in favor of Spiky Bits. Cheaper, for basically the same effect. Also, is Doombolt really worth 25pts to you? Remember, most Heavy Bolters are 5pts. You might want to drop that.

Leutenant

-Mark of Slannesh

-Dark Blade

-Speed

-Furious Charge

Excellent! Add D Strength for S8 on the charge, just to be really nasty to enemy ICs! :P

Obliterator Cultx2

Always fun.

Chaos Marine Squadx12 (BP&CCW)

-Mark of Slannesh

-Power Weapon

-Strength

-Visage

-Doom Siren

-Sonic Blasterx2

-Flamerx2

-Infiltrate

I usually recommend power fists over regular power weapons. I know a lot of people absolutely hate doing that with Slaanesh, but I still think it's the better option. That one's up to you I guess. However, if you don't give him the fist, for the love of Slaanesh, give him meltabombs! Also, why no heavy weapon? Instead of the flamers (read comments for the next squad), give them a Blastmaster. That'll let you be effective at range, as you walk up the field, and will also let you deal with various different kinds of targets.

Chaos Marine Squadx9 (BP&CCW)

-Aspiring Champion

-Power Weapon

-Strength

-Visage

-Mark of Undivided

-Rhino

-Smoke Launchers

-Extra Armour

This is the squad that should have those flamers! The Rhino lets you get close enough to use them effectively. You can also do "drive by" shootings, spraying flamer death from within a Rhino moving up to 12". And, if that's not fun enough, you can tank shock a unit, forcing them to bunch up next to the Rhino, hop out, and blast that concentrated cluster with 2 flamers!

Daemonettsx6

Daemonettsx6

Lovely! Absolutely lovely!

Heavy Support

-Chaos Havocsx6

-Mark of Slannesh

-Blastmasterx2

-Sonic Blasterx2

-Infiltrate

Chaos Havocsx7

-Mark of Undivided

-Autocannonx2

-Lascannon

-Tank Hunters

I'm not sure how I feel about these guys. Only 2 heavy weapons per Havoc squad? Why? And if you're only putting 2 heavies in, why give them more than 5 men each? Here's what I'd do. I'd drop the undivided squad entirely, put 8 men in the Slaanesh squad (8 total, not 8 more), give them tank hunters instead of infiltrate, and replace those 2 sonic blasters with another 2 blastmasters. That'll give you a nice, mobile squad capable of effective tankhunting and also pretty good at infantry hunting. Maybe even make it 10-men strong, just to make sure it survives.

Chaos Defiler

-Indirect Fire

-Parasitic Possession

-Mutated Hull

Decide right now: do you want to hide this behind terrain so it can't get shot, or do you want to put it out in the open to draw fire from your more vulnerable units? If you want to hide, only give it IF, as the other two upgrades would be a waste. If you want it to draw fire (and fire directly for better accurracy), take off IF, as that would be a waste. Either way, you'll save at least 25pts of useless upgrades.

Thank you Aidoneus. You're right, I made a few small changes. I think the two pie plates add a little strees to my opponent. Plus I couldn't decide what I wanted my one to do so whey not decide on both ^_^ I'm thinking to have my main forces walk up one flank and unleash the Daemonetts while the BC's whittle down the other flank. The oblits and Havoc squad can go where they're needed.

Slaneesh is good, probably the best all around Mark in 40K. In fantasy where magic and close combat count for so much more Tzeentch and Khorne are more powerful and Nurgle might even be better than it is in 40K. In 40K Slaneesh and Undivided with the exception of a few rewards or special units seem to have the best stuff, playing a pure Marked army is a big sacrifice in 40K and may soon become impossible or even less attractive...

I hope I didn't start a trend by suggesting two defilers. I do think it gives you more options and puts fear into opponents. One shot can take out your lone Defiler but hopefully you can do some screening and make use of terrain to keep one alive to fire for a while. The Rhino could screen the Defiler, or at least force a leadership test to fire upon the Defiler.

I don't have any experience with Blastmasters and Tank Hunter, but the idea is sound. AV14 always worries me, these guys and H2H are your only options. I've long been a fan of the humble Mealta bomb, especially on innocent looking aspiring champions (ie one not tooled up for H2H). I also like Mealta guns which although lacking in range get an extra +D6 penetration, you could stick one in either of your troop squads. I'm tempted to try a combi-mealta from the armory out more frequently, you can even mount one of those on a Rhino, keeping your two flamers...

Yes, well if I was indecisive about 2 defilers before now I'm not anymore. I played iron warriors last night. Here was his list.

  • 10 months later...

Even though I still have my dark Angels army to finish touching up on, and then and Eldar Army I already have a single model for as well as the start of some backstory, I still have thoughs of wandering to the darkness and power of Chaos.

I don't own one of the new codexs as of yet but I've looked at my friends and some of the stuff can be mean. I made a list up of what I currently own

-Demon Prince

-10 Khorne berserkers

-12 CSM being used as Noisemarines

It came to around 850 points with the upgrades, but I digress. cashflow is 0 right now and again I have an army to finish and a line up to follow.

Here are some pics of the WIP Daemonprince in the meantime.

He still needs wings and a bit of touchup. Also I apologize for the foggy parts of the pics, my photography skills are not yet developed.
