Salamanders Marines

Recommended Posts

I have just begun the mammoth undertaking of stripping down and re-modelling all of my old models from the past 5+ years of collecting marines (I have a full company), and here are the first few conversions for my first tactical squad. The general idea is that Salamanders excel at close range firepower, and so the squads with 2 assault weapons would be modelled to represent this.

My first squad is supposed to be dug in behind a barracade fighting their foe, and I am going for different action poses for all of them. I intend to include one with M40 Targetter bracing the weapon on the wall and looking down the scope, one hurling a grenade whilst using the wall for leverage, and one arming a melta bomb, and the sergeant using his Vox caster to report the situation. These will come in time, but for now here are my first few, lovingly nicknamed "Hudson"and "Marcus". Not sure on what to call the beakie. :P

Hudson:

Marcus (Yes he has a Do-rag and a goatee):

Comments and critiques are welcome, especially on the camera work :P

I like 'em - I don't see the Astartes using cover as cowardly, as long as you don't model them ALL like the beakie (he seems to be hiding a bit too much...). Marcus has a lot of character - really brings Gears to life with the facial expression while spraying a hail of bullets over cover.

By any chance, is "Hudson" named because of the character in Aliens?

Nice! Did you add the ink to make em show better in the photos?

You should turn the flash on or increase lighting (prefferably the latter) as this will increase visibility :P

I thought the beakie (who i think should be called Bob) had a grenade then realised it was a bolter mag, pretty sweet job man. Cough tutorial cough

:)
