turelhim vampire
I have just begun the mammoth undertaking of stripping down and re-modelling all of my old models from the past 5+ years of collecting marines (I have a full company), and here are the first few conversions for my first tactical squad. The general idea is that Salamanders excel at close range firepower, and so the squads with 2 assault weapons would be modelled to represent this. My first squad is supposed to be dug in behind a barracade fighting their foe, and I am going for different action poses for all of them. I intend to include one with M40 Targetter bracing the weapon on the wall and looking down the scope, one hurling a grenade whilst using the wall for leverage, and one arming a melta bomb, and the sergeant using his Vox caster to report the situation. These will come in time, but for now here are my first few, lovingly nicknamed "Hudson"and "Marcus". Not sure on what to call the beakie. :P Hudson: Marcus (Yes he has a Do-rag and a goatee): Beakie: All three: Comments and critiques are welcome, especially on the camera work :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/109452-salamanders-marines/ Share on other sites
Terminator Tomatron
i tell ya, they are some cool pose's the epitomy of dynamic! although i do think the "duck n cover" one is my favourite it seems a little cowardly for an astartes, but then there is a fine line between bravery and stupidity! :P :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/109452-salamanders-marines/#findComment-1254749 Share on other sites
The_Chaplain
don't know why, but I'm picking up a gears of war vibe from this squad :P excellent work brother Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/109452-salamanders-marines/#findComment-1254758 Share on other sites

Brother Bohemund
Boy, I realy love those guys! ;) Although Markus seams to be toppling over. Any chance to get a better pic of this realy cool chain-bayonet, cause I think I have to steal this idea from you  (if you dont mind) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/109452-salamanders-marines/#findComment-1254827 Share on other sites
Brother Garrod
ducking ? looks to me like hes firing blind over the wall with his bolter while keeping his head down >.> Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/109452-salamanders-marines/#findComment-1254835 Share on other sites
noxinwerd
When all three are together it looks like Hudson is telling Marcus to quit being a coward and fight like an Astartes while showing how its done! lotsa_terminators
Very dynamic, reminds me a lot of GoW. It's always nice to see diorama marines, especially ones with as much character as these guys Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/109452-salamanders-marines/#findComment-1254844 Share on other sites
Dr. Clock
Does bs4 still work if you are firing blind?? Great conversions, though. Keep it up Cheers, The Good Doctor. Damocles
I like 'em - I don't see the Astartes using cover as cowardly, as long as you don't model them ALL like the beakie (he seems to be hiding a bit too much...). Marcus has a lot of character - really brings Gears to life with the facial expression while spraying a hail of bullets over cover. By any chance, is "Hudson" named because of the character in Aliens? Russ
Nice! Did you add the ink to make em show better in the photos? You should turn the flash on or increase lighting (prefferably the latter) as this will increase visibility :P I thought the beakie (who i think should be called Bob) had a grenade then realised it was a bolter mag, pretty sweet job man. Cough tutorial cough :) ~Nik Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/109452-salamanders-marines/#findComment-1255575 Share on other sites

Khornegor
This does remind me of Gears of War; the poses, the chain bayonet, the taking cover everything! And you did a great job replicating the feel of it if that was what you were going for. NemFX
Call the beakie either Nosey or Parker? If you get the refference it's that much better.
