Mark 5 Armour

Recommended Posts

Okay, rivets are a real pain. It took me almost a year to get the things on!

I added some more cables on the torso and the thigh armour as well.

I still need to work on the torso cables so they go around the back and do a bit of green stuff work.

Vow! simply vow!

this is exactly how a markV should look like imo

the coolest armor type and you have really brought it to live!

I do hope that GW will give us pre-heresy perverts some plastics when they release the codex this fall.

Excellent work brother, really inspiring!

all the best

The rivets are from Grandt Line Products. Here's a link to the page on their website. I just sent them an email letting them know what I wanted and got it in the mail a few weeks later.

The rivets on the helmet are 0.032" dia Round Head.

The rivets on the legs are 0.043" dia Round Head.

I'm going to have to make smaller rivets out of green stuff.

Thanks for the compliments guys! And the next update won't take a year, I promise!

this is the most amazing conversion ever

I would sooooo buy thousands of them if you could cast it

agreed - MKV armour can be a git to get, and this has got to be the best version of it i've ever seen. people would pay top money for this kind of thing, Brother Aristeo ... just a suggestion :D

at any rate, a lot of time and effort has gone into this, and i congratulate you for it :) an outstanding piece of work, Brother.

best of luck with the project!

holy crap! if youy look at the last pictures it just doesn't look like a conversion, i mean cut and stick conversions are usually messy but you us them to seve time with green stuff and then cover over the edges with green stuff

but cutting and sticking without greenstuff! i didn't know it was possible!

its astounding

btw have you given in to the temptation of the vindicator?

Woah! you have way more patience than me to do those studs like that! I just used humble PVA glue B)

However, really great look to the model, will be looking to see the finished article - will that be a year too? :P :P

No, it will not take another year to finish! A promise is a promise after all.

I pieced it back together and this is what I got:

Now I need to do a bit of touch-up work and some small rivets with green stuff and this thing will be ready for paint! Now if I could just figure out how I want to paint it...

You know Tagsta, I've really been wrestling with the idea of how to paint this. I've been thinking of World Eaters a lot recently too... when I get home I'll throw a berzerker head on it and post it up to see what it looks like.

I really want to paint it in either a desert scheme or a gray urban scheme. Any suggestions?

I just realized! I've been pronouncing your name correctly since I first saw it! Your signature got owned!

On topic: Go DIY, the first founding legions have too much personality to dedicate this model to. This model would make a wicked pre-heresy World eater, but how many of those are there? too many to count certainly. Go individual and creative man!

Well Swordhand, I never wanted to do the Pre-Heresy thing anyway. I was thinking of making a 41st millennium World Eaters warband. I started thinking of mounting a Lord on one of the new Juggernauts and some wicked Khornate conversions for the Berzerkers. I've always been really inspired by these pictures:

But you're right...there's too many World Eaters armies, Pre and Post-Heresy. I may still make that Lord on a Juggernaut though...that thing is just Sweet!

Anyway, back on topic... I've had an idea for a while that I think I'm going to run with.

I'm still going to post a picture with a Berzerker head just to see what it looks like. I'm going home now, so it shouldn't be long.

Give me some feedback brothers! Desert sand or dark gray color scheme? Let me know what you think will look good.

Oh yeah Swordhand, thanks for pronouncing my name right!

i think that you should go for a pre heresy WE paint job, or a loyalist one (pre or post heresy). you mite be able to get away with a heresy era one, but i thik pre would look better imho

either way, the model is very well converted.

No no no, this is all going wrong!

It has to be pre heresy, pretty PLEASE!

...I know - MAKE HIM A WORD BEARER! - they have dark grey armour with a lot of scripts and oath-papers. That way you get a grey marine and I get a kick out of watching people on the other side of the globe do as I say ;)

This would be a wicked word bearer - and almost no one does pre heresy word bearers, honest

all the best

Krueger
