Decal Solvent

Recommended Posts

I've been searching high and low for Micro-Sol Decal Solvent ( link ) but without much in the way of success.

My question is, does anyone here know:

1. a dealer in Northern Europe that sells Micro-Sol's Decal Solvent?

2. a dealer in Northern Europe that sells the equivalent of Micro-Sol's Decal Solvent?

3. anything else that might help?

NB.The closest stores I've found so far are in Belgium and the UK, respectively.

Thank you for you time. :yes:

I tried both the Humbrol and Testors (Italeri) kinds before I finally found Micro Set & Sol while on vacation in England, and have to say that the Micro stuff works alot better. My suggestion would be to mail-order it from somewhere, assuming they don't charge ridiculous amounts of postage :woot: One bottle of each (Set and Sol) will last you a lifetime.

I am sorry for bringing this one back from the quasi-dead.

I've recently gone back to a project that requires a setting solution for decals and haven't had any luck finding Micro-Sol or it's equivalent (in quality) in any of the local shops.

Anyone out there who knows of a retailer, for Micro-Sol in Northern Europe?

Hi Brother Nihm,

There's a few UK stockist who'll send Micro-Sol to Europe;

- Have a look here or here

However there's also a company called Daco Products run by a dude called Danny Coremans based in Belgium who apparently do Decal fixing solutions that are allegegly "better" than Micro-sol, they will also deliver to Denmark have a look here, the site isn't the best to navigate you'll have to find a link for "complete price list" and look for Product codes DCPR01a (soft), DCPR01b (medium) or DCPR01c (strong).

Although I do know there's some shops in Denmark that stock Daco Products, these are;

- Lynx Hobby, Thorndalvej 4, Stenhoej, 9900 Frederikshavn, Denmark

- Stoppel Hobby, Grundtvigsvej 15, 1864 Frederiksberg, Denmark

I use Micro-sol, although I don't put many decals on, but my Father-in-law who does a lot of military modelling swears by the DACO stuff.

I forgot to mention that I've picked up a bottle last week, my old printer broke down though so I need to pick up the new one before I can proceed with my tests.

Just to let you know that I haven't forgotten and that I will get back to you about whether Daco is good or not. :lol:
