Do terminator legs make a marine into a terminator? Probably not. (...) I keep wondering why this simple contest of "paint a chaos marine" must be so damned difficult for some people.

I suppose terminator legs do not make a terminator marine, but I thought it would be safer to ask. And this nicely links with the second part of your reply. Taking a stock Chaos Marine and painting it is very straightforward as far as sticking to the rules is concerned, but if you prefer to do conversions and are in doubt about complying with rules I think it is better to ask (as I have in two instances) than to risk committing to a project than could be disqualified. ;) I am sorry if my questions sound superfluous.

Not that I want to enter for the prizes, just want to participate, but being disqualified pretty much ends participation...

Regards and thanks,

I believe Aaron the Unforgiven has the right quote for that Chrono:

When considering submitting a piece for a competition, you must, without fail, ask said competition's coordinator any and every question you can conceive of in an attempt to bend said competition's rules and restrictions to suit your personal desires. This rule must be especially observed if entry into said competetion involves no fee and includes a prize generously donated by an individual who gains little or nothing from such a venture.

I know no Terminator armour is allowed, but "TrueScale" figures are; but, having in account that a often used method to make TrueScale marines is to use Terminator figures' legs, are these allowed?

I think you should all enter whatever you feel like, and pour your heart into the completion of your mini. When your done, it'll either be in the competition, or disqualified. The next morning, the sun shall rise again.

I teach 7-8 graders...some of these responses resemble the behavior of my students...<internal voice echo> "I know I can do this...I can probably get away with this...I miiiiiiiiiight be able to justify this..."

Well, I said I would wait 'till I'd finished painting my Space Marines for a tourny before starting on my CoC entry. That tourny was yesterday (I came joint 13-16th / 18 ), so I now have no excuse to stop my evil modelling and painting now! :)

Never knew you had it in your LunchBox....

Jw, how old are 7/8 graders? In the U.K you subtract five to the age to get the year they are in. How does it work in the U.S? I've always been interested... because I'm cool like that :P

Yeah, it's about the same here as well.

I have started on my model! (At last ) One part of the model is mainly tiny bits of junk held together with GS, which means the whole thing gets bent with the slightest touch. ;)

I'll leave it to set overnight, then clean it up tomorrow... It'll probably be a nightmare to paint, too.

Why did I sign up for this? :D

PS: I hope that was ambiguous enough to avoid the 'Don't discuss your entry' rule. ;)

I dont think I can make it. RL is throwing a curve-ball again... but if I DO make it, it'll be nothing special.

So no Chaos-sorcerer with a 2-handed kite (actually, aeither a disc of Tzeentch or something similar) in his hands, being dragged across the floor, pretending to cast "winds of chaos".

Maybe I'll try a bunny-eared bezerker instead.... hmmm... ;)
