Also just less messy than asking on other topic where there 40+ pagies & it been asnwer 20 odd times before. Now I#ve not had much time to read codex Chaos on background (just trying get time) only parts on the Alpha Legion wipe a chapter, group of Spave Wolfs turning chaos (well red corsiers) & a Sarg who take over a whole plaent :D also anyone else who read the codex is more then free to chip in there bit as well, of course :teehee: Also to sort out any mistake anyone made when given there answer. So anything you want to know about the new codex that is no breaken GW IP rules or any of the B&C rules. If I´m right on this, an IC joining a cult unit : Would prevent that unit from using vet skills that is particular of that unit? According to the Universal Special Rules section, a Khorne Lord (for exemple) won't gain Furious Charge when joining berzerkers, but the berzerkers from the unit the Lord joined won't lose FC.. (same goes for the other 3 cults) C ) Related to point B : a non cult aligned character: Is free to join any unit? Or he can´t join cult units unless it bears the icon of that power? He seems to be able to join whoever he wants.... No problemo about an icon.. I'm hoping to be correct on this, as those marked Lords with lesser abilities than their cult troops seems really strange/unbelievable to me.. And since you can gather what the mark of nurgle does (hasn't changed a whole lot), you can look at the noise marine scan and figure out pretty much exactly what the plague marines will be. They have the same special weapons to choose from as before. Basically take a regular chaos marine, give it the mark of nurgle, give it fearless and feel no pain as well as blight grenades. A champion can take the stuff you'd expect and the squad can have a couple special weapons or plasma pistols. T5 + feel no pain? Yes please!! For CSM, special weapon at minimum, then either another special or a heavy for a 10 man plus squad. Yes, the LR is a dedicated transport for termies. I say it work like it dose in 40k right now. I alway though if a IC join a squad who fearless would then make the squad fearless until he left or got killed. But don't quote me on that. Yes still there to take Heavy & Specil or 2x Specil but you need 10 models or more (up to 20). Other wise just one specil weapon & the Champ plasma pistol if you pay the pts. So you can get 6 Land Raider in total from my understanding (3 Heavy, 3 as transport) So sorry if anything mess up or wrong I will have a proper look that the codex, but the above from a quick glance I had there. Is it true the mark effect is confered by a banner/icon, so a banner of undivided provides the bonous like the mocu currently? Meaning that each individual in a squad has no individual mocu but gets the benifit from the singular banner? If this is the case then I see LOS sniping and other underhanded tricks to rob the benifits of a marked squad by taking out the banner bearer. For non cult units they can take a banner that gives them the mark be it the new chaos undivided (don't remember the name off the top of my head) or for one of the four powers. This means yes to nurgle raptors if you are of the mind. And yes if the model with the banner gets it then the unit looses the mark (if I remember rightly). But this dose not have any effect on the cult troops like plague marines and such. They have their marks as part of their profiles, and not as a unit upgrade. Who ever told you that talking out there rear. They DO have Frak & Krak grandes, Lord, Sorserer (sp), Chosen, Chaos Marines, the four Cults, Bikes, Havocs. Could someone explain how the marks work in the new dex? It Icons now who give the power say like Bezerker +1 attack. But if he get killed then you loss that power given to the unit. So be careful where you place that Icon bearer :P As said Cult units are not effected. You can't have tooled champions anymore, just a few mundane options (regular marine stuff) where as icons make the unit as a whole better and act for summoning and count as a teleport homer for Deep Striking. Spellbound Posted August 8, 2007 Share Posted August 8, 2007 I converted all my Aspiring Champions to be holding banners for their units, as it specifically said before that the champion could be the guy to hold the icon. Is that not the case anymore? As with most codices, usually the "character" of the squad doesn't have access to squad options like plasmaguns, etc so can he still take the icon? I'm just going to start picking models and painting a dot on their base as their "icon" if they keep switching it up like this. Pretty soon everyone's going to have some sort of icon, and I just won't tell my opponent which is the real one. I'll mark his base and write it down somewhere or something so it doesn't change. Disappointing I have to now stick all my plasmagunner marines in different squads of basic guys as they can't join the ranks of the blastmasters, but such is life. On the other hand, all of my troops will have sonic blasters and bp/ccw! If the sonic blaster still has an assault firing mode, that means I'll be able to run in, double tap, charge, and still get the bonus from 2x ccw AND charging. Eat that, Grey Knights!
