For both Rhino and Land Raider..

Thanks Defiler, I don't want to see the multi-paged stupidity(IMPO) about it in the chaos section of the forum.

Damn, I made need to also start a EC army then with him in it!

Damn, I made need to also start a EC army then with him in it!

but you don't need an EC army for him . Can as well play him in a khorn army no rules against it.

question . abadon and his claw&sword does it count as 2ccw or as a two handed one just like all the other demon weapons?

also DG now how blight hand grenades , how is it possible for them to use frags ? can two types of grenades be used at the same time ?

I've heard varying things about the dreadnought frenzy table.

- Do dreadnoughts gain double attacks or double shooting when they frenzy?

- If they shooting-frenzy, what are the specific rules for which unit they target?

- Does somebody not being in charge range count as "no valid frenzy" result? Or do they still have to make the attempt?

Some other Dreaddie Q's

- Can they be daemonically posessed?

. . . guess that is all for now. . .

Pivot and Double shooting on the fire frenzy. No moving or assaulting.

- If they shooting-frenzy, what are the specific rules for which unit they target?

When fire-frenzying, they shoot at closest unit, friend or foe. If there's no viable target, counts as sane and can move/shoot/assault as per usual.

When Blood Raging, move towards closest enemy, fleet during shooting phase, must face the unit, then assault if it can.

You still have to move and fleet whether you can charge or not. The only time it gets to be sane instead is if it's immobilized.

- Can they be daemonically posessed?

Nope.

I'm curious about bikes. Especially since in converted them to have sonic blasters! Is that still possible? Do bikes still have +1A? Can they have Icon/mark?

No sonic blasters. Bikes do not have an extra attack, but do come with BP & CCW. They can carry any icon, which gives the squad the mark as long as the icon bearer lives.

Debates will probably follow about how Tzeench's mark works with turbo boost. If so, they'll have 2+ invulnerable saves when turbo boosting and a 5+ when not.

Some people may not like me for this, but I may have to take some Noise Marines in my Iron Warriors Army. I'm sorry, but the Sonic Weapons are too good to pass up. Another thing: The TS AP3 Bolter. I'll have to take a squad of them as well...

Speaking of dreads, someone with the codex might want to read the entry about the missile launcher carefully. Previously you could not have a missile launcher and a DCCW now the way it is worded it appears you can have a DCCW and a Missile Launcher. I was mildly annoyed at the no Havoc on a dread rumor, as I converted one up...

The havoc seems cheaper and if not better at least for the cost it is like why not throw it on your rhinos. The range is decent, so a rhino could roll around a corner and let lose the havoc missiles then assuming it doesn't die it gives rhinos something to do for the rest of the game.

I may be retrofitting my rhinos, if not all of them than at least one or two.

Elite is now where it is at, before I used to max out heavy support, but now I can see myself maxing out Elite in addition to troops. You can make some really cool Elite units, cheap scoring units or death dealing monster units.

I already have one 20 man painted squad in my army, but I will be doing my 20 bezerker unit some day and I'm glad that option was left to us. I think completely unmarked troops or Slaneesh is where it is at. This has nothing to do with Lash of Torment, I've always thought Noise Marines were the best, since 2nd edition, plus one iniative is nothing to laugh at either.

Plaguemarines are bit more expensive on the whole, I wish their champ could get the Plaguesword or something for fluffiness. Thousand Sons and Noisemarine champs have unique options but not Nurgle and Khorne. Nurgle Renegades are expensive, so I won't be using many, even though they fit my painted miniature collection the best. In 2008 I want armies with more scoring units, more heavy weapons, and more variety.

I plan to do up unmarked troops, slaneesh troops, and lastly Khorne, I can't do Tzeentch, I have an old Tzeentch sorcer model which wil be touched up but Tzeentch is definitely last, like 2009 or later....

Being a Night Lord fan, I'm curious as to how Raptors are looking. What's going on with them? Are they limited to only two special weapons?

Raptors only have the option of two special weapons on top of the AC!

@ Jeske- They count as a single daemon weapon but at a doubled str, normal int(6) and rerolls failed wounds!

I got to glance at the codex today myself, and wanted to pass on one little tidbit- No Combat squad rules for CSM's!

Some people may not like me for this, but I may have to take some Noise Marines in my Iron Warriors Army. I'm sorry, but the Sonic Weapons are too good to pass up. Another thing: The TS AP3 Bolter. I'll have to take a squad of them as well...

Nothing wrong with that at all now! . . . and really there never was. In Storm of Iron they clearly have some Khorne marked or Berzerker units as part of their force.

Personally, I am all about using Deathguard stats for my Iron Warriors as "bionically enhanced marines."

How right you are!

That is such a cool idea.

Just paint them extra rusty...

You wouldn't get heavy weapons in your troop choices, but you could still have chosen, terminators, or dreads with heavy weapons plus of course 3 Heavy Support choices. Should be a pretty shooty list. I priced out a 7 man plague marine squad, with a champ, two special weapons, and a rhino and it came to just under 250 points. You don't have to have 7 models in a squad and there is no bonus to doing so but Plaguemarines and Nurgle Renegades are not cheap so any army using them extensively will be outnumbered pretty badly.

I'm wondering what people are thinking about daemon weapons.

Honestly I liked the idea, its a bit of a gamble weapon but still rather good (thinking mostly about the Undivided one)

But on a closer examination, I'm not sure what they give you that you couldn't get from say twin lightning claws.

Speaking again primarily for the Undivided weapon = +1S. A lord attacking basic marines would look something like this:

3 attacks + 1 charge + 4 from daemon weapon (2-6 range average = 4) so 8 attacks total, 5.3 hits 3.5 wounds/dead marines

Now with 2 LCs it would be:

3 attacks +1 charge + 1 2 CC = 5 attacks, 3.3 hits, 2.5 wounds/dead marines

So the daemon weapon on average will kill an additional marine BUT costs you 10ish points more and has as chance of wounding you and stopping your attacks. Assuming its not a Khorne weapon, you have a 1/6 or 16.7% chance to not attack so over 6 turns it would look like:

daemon weapon 3.5 dead marines X 5 turns attacking = 17.5 dead marines, 1 self inflicted wound

2 LCs 2.5 dead marines x 6 turns attacking = 15 dead marines, no self inflicted wounds

Some people may not like me for this, but I may have to take some Noise Marines in my Iron Warriors Army. I'm sorry, but the Sonic Weapons are too good to pass up. Another thing: The TS AP3 Bolter. I'll have to take a squad of them as well...

Can alway use "count as" rule & make them some sort of specil team for the IW. Slannesh once could be a drill team or somthing to attack fortaficastion (sp?) background wise & thasound sons can rep a specil commando unit, like ARC trooper from start wars clone wars. Fit in alright with the IWs.

Dreads don't need havoc launchers... Dreads need DCCW's... and not to forget the combibolters of dOOm tongue.gif

combi-bolters don't exist anymore. They are just plain twin linked bolters now. (not gonna stop me calling combi-bolters). But termies can now weild combi-plasmas.
