Behold the Crimson Guard

GAR

Good job Gar, though I'm more interested in seeing how the RB paints up.

I love them. The custom greeves looks awsome, and the color scheme is very smooth and strong. Too bad you're not in the DFW area...I'd let you beat me.

Now that more Texans are coming out of the woodwork, at some point we should attempt to get everyone together. Apocalypse might give us a really good excuse. We're only 4.5 hours apart, easily driveable.

Howdy.

Been a while....

Yup....

So anyhoo, I have not kicked this army to the curb, I have just been kinda busy with life and stuff. But I have been wanting to get back to what I started.

So over the labor day weekend I took some time to assemble some more marines and do a little painting.

First up is the Razorback. Finally broke out and applied the gold to the tank. It needs to be washed and touched up, but it is a step in the right direction.

Next is the first half of the 2nd Tactical squad, unit designation 3rd squad of the 2nd cohort. The base color on them is red gore with a little mecharite red. It covered ok, but took close to 3 coats. A little annoying, but it will look better in the end I think. I have varied up my red recipe in favor of something simpler. I am confident the results will be what I am wanting.

I am hopeful the fall will be kind to me so I can keep up with weekly updates.

Wow, the Texans really are coming out of the woodwork here....

I think the models look pretty good but I gotta say (as an Ultramarine and a Greco-Roman nut) that they don't yet strike me as particularly Roman. If you're trying to avoid stuff other Chapters already use then I don't know how you'll keep from wandering into Ultramarine territory, but otherwise I'd say you can pretty much raid the Ultras for all the bits you could need.

@Honda and GAR: Regrettably I never managed to make it down to Rice to game with you guys after the Marq*E GW closed and now I'm up in Nacogdoches going to school. But definitely let me know if you actually do cobble together some sort of pan-Texas B&C thing and I'll try my hardest to make it.

I'll probably be at the Rice GW when the Black Reach set comes out tho for the Ork and Marine swap they're gonna have. (I have no need for Orks)

To be honest I wasn't really feeling the gold/red marine. But when you put a bunch of them together it looks good.

Same with the RB.

I like.

I get this about half of the time. I find it interesting that most folks either love it or hate it. I dunno. I like it a whole keck of a lot because it is very different from your day to day marine color schemes. Bright and shiny.

@Midas.

Its all part of my master plan for winning a GT. I shall blind you with my Bling! :tu:
