I have long thought about using the marneus calgar torso for an HQ, due to the nice design and the cape. Perhaps that might be the best route without having to file off a ton of superfluous chapter specific iconography.

To answer the question, this is a rough scheme of what I am going for:

(Though I really should hit up that Marine coloring book the B&C has here, it looks kinda fun)

The color scheme will be Revilers-esque.

It still needs a bit of work, (such as adding an aspergillum to the staff and fixing that bookmark) but I think it gives a good general idea of what I am going for here.

Thats just the general gist of the scheme really. Metals will be verdigris bronze as an example.

Sadly, there are no longer termie command squads in the SM dex. Even when there was that entry, the option to take a banner wasnt there.

 

BUT, Deathwing can take a banner in one termie squad.

 

That said, I am going to make a banner, so that when I am using this army with deathwing rules (likely) I can have the option to choose from in my collection.

 

I already have an apothecary termie, so I may as well add the banner too.

One point tho, It never struck me before, but seeing that Corvus helmet on termie chassis reminds me a lot of the good guy aliens on The Fifth Element.

For some reason I love those beaked terminators. the scouts look awesome aswell.. and uhh is the dread gonna have a beaky to fit in? <_<

Well, you gotta love the handy dandy space marine painter that the B&C has.

 

I have been fiddling around with it, and I think this is the scheme I am going with. A rough example, as there is no crux terminatus, etc on my models, but I think it portrays what I am trying to achieve.

It is indeed quite plain, but I think I am going to stick with gray (perhaps a bit darker shade?) on the models.

The =][= symbol on its right shoulder pad is a verdigris bronze. I had to throw it into photoshop to spot the corrosion in order to represent it.

I am thinking that I might do this with all metal components in the army to get this effect.

if you do the bronze thing dont go too heavy on the blue like in that pic thats my opinion

I worked on my termie banner bearer yesterday at Tower Games. I figured since I already have an apothecary, I may as well make a BSB for them as well when I do use them for Deathwing.

I am not so sure about the brazier mounted on the top. It literally is over the top. If I dont use it on the banner, then I need to find out what and where I can use this very fluffy brazier bit taken from the new VC corpse cart.

The banner isn't glued yet, so I made the banner pole a little long so I can adjust the height of it later on. It just slides up and down the pole, like a frisky stripper.

I think I may just use the banner capital of the new plastic space marine commander from the AoBR boxed set instead of the huge brazier.

I am particularly proud of the drilling I did through the hand. It looks quite natural and appears as if he is made to hold the banner pole (the arm used is the outstretched stormbolter arm)

I picked this banner because I feel that a full fledged company standard that many space marines use is not really fitting for the =][=.

Instead, I feel they would be more likely to display ancient relics of one sort or another. With that in mind, I plan to paint the banner to be a simple piece of fabric that is aged to look like an ancient burial shroud. Again this is fitting, since the armies symbol is taken from the sisters of battle insignia for the Order of the Argent Shroud.

I think simply copying what is on this Argent Shroud banner on to the termie banner would suffice.

Just the part of the burial shroud and nothing else. Think of it as a imitation of the Shroud of Turin on a stick, and you wont be far off.

 

Anyways, the usual feedback concerning this is much appreciated.

i agree with above posters that the blue green brass (although it will look good) may be a little over the top if blue/green is over used.

I believe its one per cart. I don't play fantasy. I traded the bit from a friend.

The Standard Bearer is awesome. Not sure about the giant flaming basket on the top :lol: Perhaps you should use the smaller emblem on top instead.

Alright, after taking advice here into consideration, I went back to the old termie painter and came up with this:

It has just a slight shade of greenish blue to the grey though a few shades darker now. You might not have even been able to tell there is a greenish hue unless directly compared.

I was going for an Ordo Minoris (minor unnamed order) when originally planned, but after reading Gav Thorpe's exquisite fluff in the Thorian sourcebook (For the Inquisitor Game) found HERE, I think I might make this the Chamber Militant of the Ordo Sepulturum. Not sure on the army name however.
