MaveriK
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r35/Azn_MaveriK/forum%20post/Dsc00414.jpg Once again our world of fire and ice finds itself slowly exiled from the "Eye of the Wolf" (as our ancestors have once called it) from its immense heat, bringing forth the long winters of Fenris. This marks a celebrated gathering ushered in by the masters of the runes in a week long great feast under the stars and aurora borealis of the night. There in the island continent of Asaheim, at the valley of the wolves they gather.. not far from "The FANG." Great sagas new and forgotten are told, deeds of honour and glory are spoken. Warriors of Russ who have fallen are remembered, and those who show great promise are praised. Rune Masters whisper amongst themselves of secrets and of things to come, of great deeds and of warnings foreseen.. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r35/Azn_MaveriK/forum%20post/WolfRunePriest002.jpghttp://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r35/Azn_MaveriK/WarWolves%20WIP/DSC03096.jpg "let the sagas be told.. " as the old stormcaller would say The sons of Russ gather at the great feast and celebrate, watching the rune masters in awe. It serves many purposes within the once legion.. its long tradition honoured amongst each great company. United they gather, united we the "sons of Russ" gather.. from the old and wise to the newly inducted.. each and every warrior priest test themselves (body and mind) mastering levels of shamanistic traditions. Testing themselves against each other, sharpening their skills in combat and unlocking the secrets of the runes. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r35/Azn_MaveriK/WarWolves%20WIP/DSC03091.jpg Forgotten incantations of runic lore are spoken, new weapons are forged, totems are blessed, and finally on the seventh day, testing their "rune-magic" in a display rarely seen amongst the sons of Russ against warp spawned elementals of fire and ice. Only the bold and only the brave survive, only those strong enough live through the trials and the ascension of first winter's feast. Only those worthy of their Wolf Lord and Russ himself stand triumphant!! Dark Bjoern
Be gentle, it´s the first time that i wrote a batrep in form of a short story and my english is not so well. But i hope that it is readable and you´re enjoying it. http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Space%20Wolves/Runelordrightside.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Space%20Wolves/RunelordandRetinue1.jpg Umbridge 144, Armageddon Sector Wolf Lord Krom Dragongaze was looking around. The casualties were low and his men where celebrating their victory. Three month they´ve fought against the orcs. Three month they had tolerated the presens of the Dark Angles. But tomorrow they would trim the "cats" the claws. He thought about who will have the hornour to represent the the Space Wolfs. Three off the present warriors come to his closer choise: Einar. Einar, the Bear. No less than 45 orcs he had killed in this conflict. It was during the final fight, that he saved his Lord´s life. The Lord has just killed the Whaaaghboss as he noticed a movement to his left. Too late he saw the Killabot. The punch hit him hard and send him to the ground. The crude maschine went after him do give him the deathblow, as Einar came up over his Lord and parried the punch with his storm shield. He swang his mighty thunder hammer and smashed the killabot. Voltar, he was recently promoted to the Wulf Guard. He leads one of the Grey Hunters packs. Unter his leadership they were holding there position at the only bridge crossing the Redwood River in a 100 miles radius. With only 2 men casualties he holds the position against a horde more than 10 times their own strength for two days until reinforcements arrived. No, the hornour due to someone else. The Wolf Lord stand up: "Brother Thorgrimm! It´s up to you to represent us tomorrow." He raised his mug for a toast and the howl Great Company shout out their agreement. Thorgrimm Stormclaw, the old Rune Lord. He leads the attack off one of the orc camps, were they try to build up a stompa. And it was he, who killed the Big Mec and his bodyguard singlehanded. Fast as the wind he came out off the nothingness, with his Frost Blade and his Rune Stuff. Despite off his age of 425 years and his terminator armour he fought with the fury and the swiftness of a Blood Claw. He raised his keg and noded. The Field of Hornour laid among the ruins of a destroyed imperial town. Master Belial himself represented the Dark Angles. Thorgrimm was quiet and relaxed, the Master of the Death Wing was a mighty opponent, but he would only be second winner in following fight. Two bullets has been founding their target, but where bouncing off at Thorgrimm´s terminator armour. Belial has revealed his position and this was his doom. Since half an hour they were lurking around through the ruins, always being concerned not to give the other an advantage. But now he would bring it to an end. Thorgrimm charged. The might of his runes covered him behind a veil of stormclouds. A moment later he was at Belial´s position. With a furios combination of blows he send Belial to the Ground. The Dark Angles would remember this day for a long time. Like you can imagine, i´ve fought against a DA player. He challenged my for the "Lion and the Wolf"- scenario. He was very arrogant in his behavior. It was the first time that he played at my favorit GW store. After i killed his Belial he was pissed, grabed his army and left without playing the rest of the scenario. LoneSniperSG
I need a little touching up on him. At the time I painted this guy, I was mixing burnished gold and yellow to make.. well.. different gold. Not very clever. I was also still painting plasma green, instead of the metallic blue But.. http://img47.imageshack.us/img47/9333/picture49rw5.jpg May I present Forkunnr Stormsinger. He has stood tall and not allowed himself to be felled by the loathesome DUST of none other than MY ROOM. MaveriK
I played a game of apocalypse over the weekend.. it was against a chaos player. It was a GONG SHOW! anyway to make a long story short, he had 4 Daemon Princes, lets just say "stormcaller" helped my Rune Priest and his Wolf Guard Bodyguard allot.. I managed to killed all four separately before dying with his last Daemon Prince. It was good rolls on my part that day! and his Rune Weapon is now a sacred item for my army hahahaha :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/118231-masters-of-the-runes-updated/#findComment-1406046 Share on other sites

Lionsbane
They need to take that head and add it directly to the next SW bitz sprue exactly as it is. The Chaos Marauder one you used for your RP Littlbitz. Looking good so far guys. Wolf Brother Spyrle
Here is my WIP Rune Priest. I gave him a Brass Rod and some wolf skulls for his Rune Staff. I need it with all the damn eldar where I play. And I figure if he is doing the right thing and casting "stormcaller" then he won't be shooting anyway. Just one question. Does it count as a second CCW? Spyrle Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/118231-masters-of-the-runes-updated/#findComment-1408512 Share on other sites

MaveriK
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r35/Azn_MaveriK/forum%20post/DSC00777.jpghttp://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r35/Azn_MaveriK/forum%20post/DSC00782.jpg currently working on my new Rune Priest, the model itself carries a battle axe, I will either turn/paint it into a frost blade or a force weapon, he also has a chaos marine plasma pistol, just because I think it looks far more badass than loyalist plasma pistol. He was very easy and simple to convert, I added a snowy owl (chooser of the slain) for him. I plan on adding more to him by using green-stuff, adding things like wolf tooth necklaces, misc weapons or pouches, and lastly adding more to his base when I am done. I also have a female Rune Priest on the works from warhammer fantasy, a bretonian or a wood elf mage OOP mini. I've also added a rune stone to my Njal Stormcaller base, just to add more to its look, character and overall effect. Denkal
Beef, I'm loving the barechested rune priest. VERY manly, and worthy of a keg or two of fine Fenrisian ale. Here's a few picks of my Rune Priest, Skaald. Forgive my poor photography, just recently got my camera. EricBasser
Denkal. I like that model, but I think I've seen that pose before. . .I know! Shakespeare's Hamlet. Yup, definitely Hamlet. Right down to the Frost Blade. :D "Alas, Poor York. I knew thee well." I really like the hooded model though. Denkal
Yeah, that's the hamlet pose. I was digging through my bitsbox, looking for a good left arm, since all his weapons were on his right arm (The bolt pistol, frost axe, and rune staff weapon), and I grabbed a bolter arm and the wolf skull you get with Grimnar, and figured it was as good as anything. It's a converted Dark Angel Vet, with wolfy bits. He's also got his own little Wolf Guard retinue with matching robes. Definitely adds character.
