After a break from marine things for some epic IG, I'm back with another epic Marine devastator detachment before I head out for the holidays. Enjoy!

I've finished up some more epic marines now that i've gotten the sgts I needed. This ismy last IF tac detachment for the time being. Now only have 8 stands of Terminators and 4 thunderbolts to go before the army is complete.

Dude..epic marines smepic marines. Go do the Nesewdjet-Nedjety again. (which, by the way, I was driving here in California someplace..and I saw a sine that said Nedejety =-O ) I think you should start a new thread for the Epics, and have a solitary thread for the Nesewdjet.

Ah I will, but epic marines go so fast that it's hard not to just do a complete army before moving back to 40k. I think I only have 8 stands of terminators left for the full army. I'll probably work up the AoBR tac squad next though... eventually I'm going to break down and do the rhino that I've had sitting around while I figure out what I want extra armor to look like too.

Another week and almost done with the initial state of the marine army. Only 4 stands of terminators to go for the full 3500 points! I've also gotten 6 of the marines from my final 40k tactical squad basecoated and ready to go after I finish this epic army.

a small update with my 40k marines. Because the AoBR marines have the large tactical insignias, I've decided to make these marines part of the I'ahkeb companies which gives them a black helmet with a green stripe. I'm somewhat one the fence about how it looks and I'm tempted to just give them solid black helmets and black weapons casings with a green stripe on them instead so I'm posting this wip guy to get a little feedback before I try to finish up the first 6 guys tonight.

I've finished up the first 6 of my last tactical squad from the I'ahkeb companies of my chapter. They just need to be sealed tomorrow and then I think I'll be back to a couple of forgeworld epic warhounds before the last 4 guys get finished.

Well I've finished up the last 4 tactical marines for my force. This gives me three full 10 man tactical squads. I'm not the most pleased with them; the basecoat gave me trouble again, I think I pulled back too far when I was spraying. After that it just went downhill. But they are acceptable and they are done which means I can move on the conversions and fun aspects of the force now... after more epic OOP warhounds or something :jaw:

Thanks! I'll be back with more marine stuff soon, but I've got to work up some epic shadowswords for a painting event and then some more work on the epic commission I'm working on before I can get back to this.

Since the razorback turrets finally came in I can start in on the transport that has long been languishing on the modeling table to give at least one squad something to roam around in or to tack a pred turret to. The image below is a sneak peak photoshop chop job to show where I'm headed with my vehicles:

That's quite a well-done photoshop job there; nearly had me fooled. I really like the direction you're headed with this, looks great!

Fooled me too. Good thing you said something, or I would have called it amazing! Thats hella cool. If you can pull that off, that'd be so awesome.

I realize it's been ages since I posted in this, mostly because I've been working quite heavily on my epic IG and Titan legion armies. I've not forgotten my 40k marines, but epic, painting commissions, getting married, and grad school have all taken their toll. When I can paint up a usable detachment for epic to a good standard in a week, you can see how it gets more time than 40k.

Anyway, all that to say here is the imperial fist lander I finished up mostly tonight. Now that I see the pics, I think there might be a couple of areas where I want to add boltgun and black to help balance things out. However I'm pretty happy with it overall especially all the modifications that went into building the model. Enjoy.

@Kurgan: Thanks, but I don't know how much I'll do. I have a ton of extra marines laying around so I can probably get another two tactical detachments and three more dev detachments out of that alone. More likely I'll just end up doing a couple of dev detachments more, speeders, bikes, and maybe some rhinos and razorbacks. Truth be told, I have a commission right now that I'm doing an epic army for a guy that is two full battle companies, two terminator detachments, and a full reserve company plus air support and armor... all as IF so by the time that ends I'll probably not want to paint any more epic marines.

I've only got 9 chimeras to go to finish out my guard and once that's done I've been promising myself to go back and paint up a 40k dread that needs a ton of conversion work to switch up to something a bit larger scale again.

Ok made a few adjustments, I think I'm going to shelve this one for the time being and if anything decides to pop out at me I'll make more changes. I think I've gotten the color balance issues worked out of the new setup now too so the highlights and shadows should be showing up now and the whole craft shouldn't look quite so radioactive.

It's update time again, and here are the dreads I've been working on this week. I've got to say these are some of my least favorite of the current epic line. The proportions are really screwed up on them and the detail isn't the best nor are the poses (Everybody dance now comes to mind). All in all though, I think they turned out pretty well.

I'll be taking a break from epic for a few weeks to work on some heavy conversions of these guys larger brothers. After that I'll probably be hitting the last of the razorbacks if I don't work on them while mulling where to go on the conversions.

I return to 40k with WIP shots! I've nearly completed the front torso, just have some GS gap filling and sculpting on a few joints and I'm trying to decide if I really want the cartouche in the middle.

I'm also a little stuck on what to put on either side of the aquilla on the lower torso. I'm thinking of perhaps adding some tubes or armor plate. After that it's finishing up the casing above the head and the shoulder armor before moving to the legs.

More progress on the dread, I believe I've got the front center torso and top done except for detailing which I can't do until I finish the shoulder armor. If all goes well that will be done by the end of the week.
