mr tough guy
They look great mate, love the fact that they have proper bolters, that has always bugged me with a lot of other "PreHeresy" armies. Great work mate, and a lovely paintjob!
Vash113
Spectacular work, and especially on all the old bolters. With such a great paint job ontop of the brilliant modeling those are some impressive models. Very well done, show us more!
Mac Gal
Awesome job. Bolters are great, i agree, but what i really love are old helmets (are they forge world, or from BT upgrade sprue?) and all studs on the armour. Keep it up.
Chyttering
It's... more beautiful than I ever imagined... Well done. Although I'm not really sure what the basing is supposed to be...
Hereticus
Nice work. The gold really sets them apart.
clone-trooper
Tutorial plz ? Ive had a secret soft spot for preheresy marines =P .
Auedawen
Wow, big fan of the black there. I'm always apprehensive when someone posts an army who's primary color is black (Templars and RG generally) but you pulled it off beautifully with the highlighting. Kudos
Brother Shrike
yeah where'd you get all the preheresy armour? and bolters? looks awesome.

Kushan Blackrazor
Now this is a rarity...not only is it Raven Guard but PRE-HERESY. Amazing! :D Talk about doing it differently... Very spiffy models.
Mulceber
Beautifully done. Quite possibly some of the best RG I've ever seen. -Mulceber
Cpt Stahl
Well done, I especially like the use of gold. I also like the PH appearence, I mean, that they are not the same, every marine looks personalized (that is what I like the most about the PH marines ) What about the chapter symbol ? decals or freehand ? Again, excellent & :P work ! Cpt Stahl.
Templar Assassin
Awesome job on the highlighting, as well as the theme itself. Makes me want to get started on those Raptors already... -Atilla
Jhaelrnya
yeah where'd you get all the preheresy armour? and bolters? looks awesome. If I'm not mistaken, the armour comes from the Forge World Red Scorpians conversion set. The bolters would easily be acquired through bitz, as you can order the Space Marine Backpack Accessory Sprue (99399999031) from the classic range still. Corvinvs
OK, thanks all for your praise. I try to answer for some questions: 1. Unfortunately my English isn't perfect from readable and usable tutorial :( I can only post some close-up pics of separate figures and some WIP pics. 2. Bolters are mix: some are modified standart bolters from modern SM-sprue, and some are green-stuff coppy of bolter from SM-biker sprue. 3. Only one helmet is from BT-spue, other all are created from standart helmets from SM-sprue + geen-stuff. 4. All torsos are from SM-sprue + geen-stuff, all legs too. 5. Pins are either very small balls from green-stuff, or "heads" of tailor's nails. 6. Raven on shoulder-pad is freehand. 7. Backpacks are modified from standart BP from modern SM-sprue. And now some close up and WIP pictures: Sergeant (in future simple veteran): http://legio-x.ru/ts/40k/preheresy-sm-wip-1.jpg http://legio-x.ru/ts/40k/preheresy-rg-sgt-1.jpg Two different SMs in Mark V http://legio-x.ru/ts/40k/preh-sm-mk3-wip1.jpg http://legio-x.ru/ts/40k/preh-sm-mk3-wip2-bt1.jpg http://legio-x.ru/ts/40k/sm-preh-mk5-fin.jpg http://legio-x.ru/ts/40k/sm-preh-mk5-bt-2-fin.jpg Two different SMs in Mark III http://legio-x.ru/ts/40k/sm-preh-mk3-bt-1-fin.jpg http://legio-x.ru/ts/40k/sm-w-ml-pa-m3-wip.jpg http://legio-x.ru/ts/40k/sm-preh-mk3-ml-1-fin.jpg SM in Mark IV http://legio-x.ru/ts/40k/sm-preh-mk4-1-fin.jpg I hope thet my answers will be a little bit helpfull :)

Ardus
One question you missed. How did you do the gold painting - NNM or metalics? and what colours were used. Thanks, Ardus.
