Nice nice nice!! Very nice stuff you got there, the over the top is done in a great way. You have made some really unique PM´s there and I must say I reeally like the feel with very bloated and possesed fell you got with them. THe painting is really good as well! I will keeping my eyes on this space for more nurglylishus stuff ;)

Lord with TL lightning claws is finished. Later I will make bitz for a sorcerer and of course a version with a daemon weapon, a scythe.

3 plague terminators need to be finished but I will start with a defiler first. It will be the most complicated and time consuming conversion I have ever done. Keep watching this space...

Started with my Defiler. Although all the inspiration I found on the web, the idea of Defiler + Giant has been done before many times (even GW has used it in the upcoming Soulgrinder model), I found it most difficult to make a start. The idea of the "puss bucket" I got from the plague reaper, a model I am planning to make when my army has grown enough for normal sized battles. Some ideas I stole shamelessly ;) , like the head of the daemon. I am suprised to see none of my inspirations have finished their project. I haven't seen one painted on this forum. Maybe I will be the first then. Don't expect it to be finished too soon though... I haven't even started on the arms and weapon options.

It looks very WIP now. But I encourage people to get inspired and do it better, so these pics show how the model is built up.

Until next time, some pics:

Update:

Daemonbody is fixed with a strong pair of magnets, so removable and turns 30 degrees both directions. Makes the model a bit more dynamic. Still a lot of work to be done, mostly details :P .

On one hand, I like that the torso is larger giving it a well scaled look of a centaur. However, the application of the midsection seems a little rushed to me. It just appears to be a large tube of greenstuff without any definition as far as the body goes. I only mention this due to my current work on my own where I tried to keep the giant's physique defined even while making it decayed and bloated.

Overall, it's still impressive but I think it could use a little more work to define the midsection.

@ Cadaver:

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was a bit envious about your version, it looks a lot more like the Soulgrinder GW is releasing. But I was suprised how small the Fantasy Giant body actually is. When I was looking at the Defiler cannon, I thought, how small! Too small for my taste. So everything became bigger.

I will look at the torso how to make it better. It still is WIP, raw planning and stuff. Arms and shoulders need more work also. Details details. So much more work. One lucky shot and it's boom, gone hours and hours of work in a second... :P

I made some changes, the Reaper Autocannon looked to heavy to be put on his arm.

Is that a WeenieWhammer? And what's with the tub of white...? Hooked...up?

anyways, nice job on the death guard!

no no, I think he's over compensating for something...

Great job on the lord, very cool. I may have to attempt something like him soon...

Keep it up man

Miniman

Well, what I did was when adding greenstuff thicken the boady and arms somewhat but still kept the fat folds, exposed spine, etc. to keep the body definition there while adding a little thickness. While yours is much thicker and larger, the same principle can still apply.

You could add some love handles and fat folds so the mid section is less tube like. Fatten up the arms which could be a two step solution to add size while covering up the arms bands and other detail pieces I thought looked too Fantasy.

I'm near done with mine now, so I should be able to give you a visual of what I've done to maybe give you some more ideas. Your's is good as is but I think it can be even better!

Did some more work on the body. Still not finished but it's getting there.

I see the arm with the reaper autocannon is slightly twisted but it fits almost seamlessly, same as the flamer arm.

After a break in which I painted a winged hive tyrant, I finally started painting my defiler. It's still very in progress, but to get an idea. :D

The defiler is almost finished. One paw, some of the body and detailling is all. It's a real pain to paint, especially because the legs are already assembled and fixed.

To keep myself interested, it's really really boring painting those legs, I started on my Land Raider. After much thinking and pondering, I just decided to start off. The assault ramp was most challenging, both in the thinking and the actual modelling. But I like the idea of the nurglators being vomitted from the vehicle. The spawn bodies will be filled with tentacles and/or spikes from the spawn sprue. Acting like a dozer blade! :P

The doors are magnetic so I can decide to place the lascannons where I want. On one door I made a mix of daemon flesh and some tank interior out of a havoc launcher. Later I realised how I could use it in the game if I decided to use one on the Raider. :P Just pop of the door, here it is!
