sgt.Krueger
http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/gg284/Beggijones/?action=view¤t=P1110009.jpg Ok so if this picture posts it's a Crimson Fists techmarine, part of a veteran squad of 'former techmarines' who were with the chapter's fleet somewhere away from Rynns World when the rest of the chapter attempted to stop a Waaaagh! through suicide bombing :) Anyhoo, he is painted red gore, apart from the left arm which is painted with a regal blue/white/hawk tourqoise mix The dipping stuff is something I bought in Copenhagen, Denmark. Its called 'Fanatic army painter' and is specially produced for a hobby store in a neighboring town to Copenhagen (called Roskilde) It's my first attempt of photographing a mini and I did it at night, I can post better pictures tomorrow All the best Krueger Dang! it didn't post, can anyone post a 'how to' for posting pics, I'm an old man, my search-fu is non-existing

manwithmachete
:: bump :: Has anyone tried that Army Painter system on Blood Angels? I was thinking of trying it since I'm a lazy painter... I love painting bases for my minis (I make lava bases for them... I love them!), but for some odd reason I can't be bothered to paint a tac marine since it's almost all just red. Remmah
I have started dipping models myself recently. I can't remember the name of the brand but it is divided in 3 categorys. Light shade, medium shade and dark shade. They all dry up without any gloss. I use dark shade on my red orks, and it looks really good. It makes muscles and facial features really stand out. On red power armour i think it would look out of place though. Dip makes a model murky and darker, IMHO red power armour should be vibrant and shiny-ish. Arschbombe
Sounds like Army Painter. I think for reds they recommend the light shade.
cygnnus
I'm painting my BA right now using the new GW washes. Base of Blood Rad. Wash heavily with Ogryn Flesh. Then glaze with GW red ink. Seems to work pretty well for a quick and dirty scheme. I'm also doing my Death Company with the new washes. Base coat in Shadow Gray and then two washes of Badab Black. Sorry... Obviously, the Assault Marines are not completely finished, but you can get a sense of how the red will look with the wash/glaze technique. But the DC are done (the last link) and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out considering how quick the process was. I finished all 6 in about 5 hours total...
