Hey

Your gs skills arent terrible...there a million times better than mine.

Yeah, you should coz you made em ;)

Also, yeah the paintscheme is still a WIP and might just be for a few units.Im not sure if its evil enought to be chaos or dragony (its a word, because i said it is ;) ) enough to be dragon claws.

Hey, have you thought about messing around on the painters?

Might help you alot, but if you keep changing your mind, pick the first one you like and dont look back or go near the painters untill half your minis are done.

That way you wont want to start again :(

Hey

I really like the one with the black trim! It looks really cool :P Might have a go at painting it.

Also the red above was supposed to be blazing orange :(

Thanks anyway, there a lot nicer than any i could of come up with.

Ill have a go at painting that.

Hey

I had a little go on the painter, using your paint scheme but changing it with GW colours and heres what i came up with.

Im not sure whether it will look as nice as the picture, because of my painting skills but ill give it a go.

Thanks

If you want a brighter red, you might want to try starting off from a base coat of white, red gore, and blood red, with a highlight of blood red + water and an inked in darker red, not sure on what GW inks are called though.

But that's just a rough guide.

Hey

The GW blood red is actually brighter than the one on the painter anyway, and even if it isnt i really like that tone,it fits my fluff of time being tired and exhausted and there armours rusting and paints fading away.

Thanks for the tips thought mate :D

The way I chose the paint schemes for my armies was to go to my local hobby shop, look at the available paints and grab the colour I liked most. After that, I just held it up against every other colour there and set aside any that looked really good next to it.

I had a look at all the paints set aside and decided which of those would go best with the initial colour and that gave me my two basic colours for my army.

Next, I looked for a metal that went well with the two base colours. That gave me a complete colour scheme.

Hope this idea might help you in selecting a colour scheme if the other ideas don't.

Cheers,

PLB.

Wow!!

I want several!!

Thats a really nice job mate. How did you make it??Is it a greenstuffed chaos marine??

Ive now decided im definatlly making my own possesed and spawn.I just hope they come out half as good as yours.

I started off with a base primer black.

1. Tanned Flesh

2. Flesh Wash

3. Spacewolf grey (dry-brush)

you can get the possessed at yout local GW store or type 40k possessed into the ebay search and there you have it.

Hey

Thanks plaguelord,if this colourscheme dont work out for me ill have a go at doing it your way.Cheers :jaw:

Thanks headhunter, once i learn how to drybrush i think that will be the colour for my possesed skin.Cheers :)

As it is,im working on painting up a test mini in an adaptation of the scheme Corax-Rg made for me :)

My painting skills are bad,but i intend to eventually improve.

Also I noticed some of your pics (progress is good) however if you want these on the table top you might need to know (if noone has already pointed this out) but some of those weapons are 2 handed weapons. I noticed in some of the pics you have 2 2 handed weapons on one guy. You might wanna look into that. Typically these are 2 handed weapons

Flamer

Melta

Plasma Gun

LasCannon

Missle launcher

even a Bolt Gun

Hey

I know about that,i just really like the way they look and one of them has a reason for having a plasma gun and plasma pistol(which will become apparent when i make his base.) The main reason they have weird weapons is really a lack of parts of which to give them acceptable weaponry.

Thanks

Hey

Im working on the painting of the marines atm,im starting with Chaos Black undercoat, then a few layers of Khemri Brown to make it easier to paint the Blood Red Layers.Im not a very good painter but im hoping i can make this look good,im painting it on an SM body for the test marine,it will be harder on a Chaos Marine as the armour is Blood Red but the armour trim is Chaos Black.

Thanks for all the help everyone,it means alot to me.

once i learn how to drybrush i think that will be the colour for my possesed skin

Drybrushing isnt that that hard...heres what you have to do-

Firstly lightly dip the brush to pick up a small amount of paint, wipe any excess on a tissue and then brush on a scrap piece of paper until there is very little paint left on the brush (hence the name ‘drybrush’). To apply to the model, lightly brush with long strokes over the model so the paint catches on the raised detail only, repeat this until all detail is picked out. Usually this is done with a lighter colour to that of the model, but not always, you can use a darker colour if that is the effect needed.

Also when taking pictures of your models, it may help to use a macro setting and put a piece of white paper behind the model your taking a picture of.

Just a couple of tips for you

and thats pretty much it :D

Im looking foward to seeing how the painted models look

-Sgt Stabby

Hey

Cheers man,ill have a few trys to see how well i do.Thats been really helpfull.Cheers.

Yeah, the macro is on but useally im hoping to get the pictures done quick so i can get on with the rest of the models.I should really take more time taking photos.I definatly will from now on :D

Thanks mate.
