Brother Plasticard
Its funny how many GS tutorial requests there are floating around...I checked the Librarium and saw just one on making robes. Its very useful, however I feel we, the B&C, should make a general all encompassing GS tut. A sort of collaborative work...I know there are some really good tutorials out there on many sites, including GW, but would it not be cool to have our own? :tu: Those who want to help, just take pictures next time you use some GS that show some helpful hints, tips and the like. I will post some more stuff such as what is GS, how to do the basics, what tools to use, etc. later today...when I actually break it out to do some work. Is it a good idea? Cheers! ++Edit++ People on board/collaborating thus far: Sgt Stabby Brother P. Brother Plasticard
Is it really that bad of an idea? I'll try to rephrase this into something that might make more sense... Would it not be cool if we had our own massive GS guide in the librarium? (apparently not... :o :D ) I am thinking that it would be cool if members contributed to this guide. It wouldn't be your average guide though, this would cover everything you need to know about GS, and not just GS but BS and stuff too. We would cover the following stuff (maybe?): -The Basics -Tools -Texturing -Gap Filling -Modeling -Chaosify Marines (Nurgle, Khorn, Slaanesh, and Tezeentch) -Mixing with other Putties -Techniques for Common SM Embellishments and Items -Etc...? Feel free to want to add to the list (if this project goes through), and if you want you can specifically take pictures and do a mini tutorial for the guide... Does that sound better? Or is this still lame? <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/129005-collaborative-gs-tutorials/#findComment-1485501 Share on other sites

Sgt Stabby
Some Simple Greenstuff Nurgle Symbols Firstly is what i call the Q-tip method : 1. Take a Q-tip like so- http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s64/Juicy-Dangler/DSCF0419.jpg And cut off one of the ends- http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s64/Juicy-Dangler/DSCF0422.jpg 2. Mix some greenstuff- http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s64/Juicy-Dangler/DSCF0423.jpg (easy huh?) 3.Now put it on the marine (in this case the shouderpad) and flatten it on to the area, then press the end of the Q-tip into it (the cut end) and create the Nurgle symbol- http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s64/Juicy-Dangler/DSCF0436.jpg And now the other methods... The pustule symbol: 1.Take 3 little balls of greenstuff- http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s64/Juicy-Dangler/DSCF0438.jpg 2. Place them on the shoulderpad (or wherever) and blend them together using a hobby knife and you should end up wth this- http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s64/Juicy-Dangler/DSCF0455.jpg And finally the inverted symbol method: 1. Take a small ball of greenstuff- http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s64/Juicy-Dangler/DSCF0443.jpg 2. Flatten it onto the shoulderpad- http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s64/Juicy-Dangler/DSCF0445.jpg 3. And using a sharp tool (i used this sculpting tool that came with a cheap hobby knife set, but a toothpick can give the same effect) press it into the putty and create the Nurgle symbol http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s64/Juicy-Dangler/DSCF0448.jpg There simple techniques but give a good effect Sorry about the blurry pics :) Hope they help! -Sgt Stabby Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/129005-collaborative-gs-tutorials/#findComment-1493080 Share on other sites
