Deathwing project Some pics of actual situation: Dread "Caleb" http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/Lemariont/hangar%2032/DOS_08/Dreadnougth/dread007.jpg LR Crusader of Belial "Portador de Venganza" [Vengacebringer] Into.... http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/Lemariont/hangar%2032/DOS_08/LR%20Belial/2LR006.jpg Out... http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/Lemariont/hangar%2032/DOS_08/LR%20Belial/2LR015.jpg Other LR II ¿Crusader/Normal? Into... http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/Lemariont/hangar%2032/DOS_08/LR%20II/1LR006.jpg I´ll post here the updates news, and link for the post. If you can some suggest or ideas.. tell me please! Now, the problem is the decision about for Belial´s LR where i must put the torches and addons to get an vision of gothic machine, like a cathedral gothic. Master Toddius
1) First of all, I love the cathedral effect in the LR. Its very DA and very characterful. 2) I like that you're using the cathedral bitz on the exterior but I have a few suggestions: a: All the skulls must face upright or else its going to look strange. Cut the skull bitz off and reposition them upright. Easy fix. b: Reposition the flame over the skull after cutting of the spike. c: I would place all the signage bitz on the side of the LR. You have some much going on at the top of the tank, its getting a little too busy, IMHO. d: I would get one of the larger DA icons, split it and dress the armor plates up on the MM. e: I'd place the book just inside the door wall on the left wall opposite to the bolter rack. In this way we can say they are reading the litanies of the DA's while charging out the ramp door. And it adds a little to the interor. f: Becareful not to make the side doors permanently shut if you're doing such beautiful interiors. The best way to see them after the top is glued down is to have light coming is from the sides and front so everything is well seen. It also makes it easier to photograph. 3) Dry brush technique is a very acceptable way of painting, IMHO. However, the danger of dry brishing is doing it with thick paint left on the surface. My suggestion is to dry brush with very thinned down paint on the brush. Its more difficult because it requires more applications, but the result will leave a nice smooth surface. I've seen golden demons handed out for dry brushed models in the past that had super smooth surfaces. So its totally possible. :) Hope that helps A little. Great work and very innovative. Muy hermoso! Gran Trabajo! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/129997-deathwing-painting-project-1500-points-of-dw-to-paint/#findComment-1497102 Share on other sites
Lemariont
Grettins Battle Brother Master Toddius! The suggest are very good!!!!! 1) First of all, I love the cathedral effect in the LR. Its very DA and very characterful. thanks!!! i want a good vehícle for Belial and a representation of "Catedral Oscura" style. a: All the skulls must face upright or else its going to look strange. Cut the skull bitz off and reposition them upright. Easy fix.b: Reposition the flame over the skull after cutting of the spike. At first I don´t understand (my english... jajajaja!) but i get the LR and see the the skulls you say and I see clear do you want said me. Is a great Idea!!!!!! d: I would get one of the larger DA icons, split it and dress the armor plates up on the MM. I try now with DA simbol, a little. I´ll make photos. e: I'd place the book just inside the door wall on the left wall opposite to the bolter rack. In this way we can say they are reading the litanies of the DA's while charging out the ramp door. smile.gif And it adds a little to the interor. For the Emperor!!! Is the Best Idea!!!!!!! hahahahah! is wonderfull. I tried with a big boook... but then i search the little book of the new sprue of veterans DA and is perfect!!!! I´ll make some photos. f: Becareful not to make the side doors permanently shut if you're doing such beautiful interiors. The best way to see them after the top is glued down is to have light coming is from the sides and front so everything is well seen. It also makes it easier to photograph. Too late brother.... ummm.... I try post some photos "of the problem". Lemariont
Here some questions.... DEATHWING project This robbe o the other... http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/Lemariont/hangar%2032/DOS_08/Dreadnougth/dread011.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/Lemariont/hangar%2032/DOS_08/Dreadnougth/dread012.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/129997-deathwing-painting-project-1500-points-of-dw-to-paint/#findComment-1499229 Share on other sites
Master Toddius
I would go with the first based on the technical aspects of painting the icon on the 2nd. The first is easier to do and also exposes more of the DA icons as it is. The dread is coming along great. Love that DA icon on the base. Falk
Mmh, I prefere the second one. The 1st one isn't very dynamic, as it's totally straight and covers most of the space between the legs. Nice dread^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/129997-deathwing-painting-project-1500-points-of-dw-to-paint/#findComment-1499358 Share on other sites
demenhoth
i like how you left off one of the leg plates on the dread. maybe add little pieces still connected to the studs that hold it on though... like it shattered or something... Master Toddius
I like the mods you did based on your research much better. The finials instead of the sideways skull emblem works much better. And the balance of icons and purity seals is dispersed much more thoughtfully. I think its coming out great. The use of the DW stormshield with a censer and book is a brilliant move. Those are great ideas. I love how you think outside the box. Its great to see someone look at these bitz differently and come up with new and really good solutions. Very entertaining thread. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. :) Keep going bro. infamousagenda
Wow this stuff looks great. I really like the details and doodads your putting on your vehicles. Question though what color do you prime your models? The reason I ask is because it looks like you put some unprimed stuff on there and then paint over that or do you take it off and prime it a different color? Well anyways nice job. I'll be keeping an eye out on this topic.
