disinfect
No more paintin' Yellow shoulder-pad marines! You're right Bushido, back to working on the greatest marines of all, the Templars. nick(I'm entry 36) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/13042-painting-contest-winners/page/2/#findComment-134252 Share on other sites
Commander Y
Now I just GOTTA KNOW, Sanger how'd you do the tracer looking bolter? Anything special to it? particularly the red laser eye. I have it on good authority (as in, He told me, and I've seen the model personally) that the clip was removed and stuck on the side, the resulting gap underneath was stuffed with two model railroad bolts, and the front was shaved flat -- drilled a hole for the barrel, and a smaller hole -- a divot, really -- underneath the barrel. The "red gem" itself is an MV lens -- same as a Greiff lens. Congrats to all the other winners, and to everyone who got their entries in on time! This was a lot of fun, and I, too, am left wondering, "what's next?" :) Thanks to everyone who voted! Aurelius Rex
Congratulations to the winners, I thought I had a slither of a chance until I saw the other entrants! Absolutely incredible. I was #31, the one with the 'skull plain' base BTW. Like other posters, I am looking forward to the next contest. May I propose a bike model this time, not too expensive, scope for originality of pose, and in the words of BlackAdder's Baldrick, 'I have a cunning plan.' :) :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/13042-painting-contest-winners/page/2/#findComment-134452 Share on other sites

Gunnar Hamundarson
Well. for the record, my entry was #8 It was pretty shocking to see Commander Y's entry had a closely resembling pose to my own (again, congrat's to you C.Y and the other winners!) They say "great minds run...etc", but occassionally one as inferior as my own can apparently stumble right along with them (now back to work practicing cleaner painting) :) An amazing collection of work out there and a special thanks to whomever the four were (you know who you are) who thought me worthy of contention :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/13042-painting-contest-winners/page/2/#findComment-134805 Share on other sites

Peredyne
A lot of these are truly great models, but I can't help but think of the Rogue Trader Field Police when I look at them. Plisken
Wahhh... sanger, what the heck is that thing you have as an avatar?? That looks very cool (and yet really scary)... it sure doesn't look marine related, so this board might not be the best place, but you need to share that somewhere. :) +EDIT+ :) Umm... nevermind, found it on your site. Chronophague
By the looks of it, he used the fabled technique "put two chaos marine chainswords together.. " Ie, lenghten one sword with another, shouldn't be too hard, cut the end of the first, add the other chainsword blade, make sure it's straight, then if there are gaps fix with GS.. :) cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/13042-painting-contest-winners/page/2/#findComment-148053 Share on other sites
Badaab
Ugh... a bike? That might involve me actually painting one of the seven or so I have around here (they've been grey plastic since their release in 1997). I'm keen on another infantry model though- possibly one that doesn't restrict the base size and/or weaponry... :) Joe Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/13042-painting-contest-winners/page/2/#findComment-148767 Share on other sites
StrayCatt
Whupps... Sorry joe... For the next contest you have to model a scout marine armed with a can opener on a 15mm base. ANd it has to be a left handed can opener... :) -Adam Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/13042-painting-contest-winners/page/2/#findComment-148783 Share on other sites

TheWickerMan
neither, it must be psychically manipulated by a six astropaths. all must be on a single motorcycle. of course all these and the marine must be on said 15 mm base. sorry if that was stupid.
