i've been gone for a while

Recommended Posts

i've not played 40K for well over 2 years not (well near enough) i liked chaos the best. iron warriors were my main army. i've been thinking of coming back. so here are my questions:

-is chaos still a viable choice?

-what of the legion rules? i heard that i couldn't use my bassilisk.

-any exciting stuff coming up?

In my opinion Chaos is still definately a viable choice though it isnt the same as it once was

Legion rules have been thrown out the window (check the other thread about the Legion codex that may or may not come out) so no you cant use your basilisk, no servo arms, no siege specialists, no 4th heavy, no restricitons

Codex: Demons is coming in may i believe (again check the other thread) and 5th ed. is on the way (once again check the thread in rumors)

thank you

*insert swear word here* sake i hope there will be some rules (eventually). at least iron warriors still have a cool colour scheme.

There's reason to come back, but you're going to have to work harder to make things not suck from both a fluff perspective and a gaming perspective. And yes, Dreadnoughts can have plasma-cannons but it's way more risky, as the fire-frenzy rules are now much more lethal to your own troops.

For now, you could always count your Bassie as a Defiler, and not send it forward in combat *shrugs*.

At least it gives you something to do with a lovingly converted model.

I would have NO problems letting someone use their IW Bassie as a stand in for EITHER a Vindi OR a Defiler.

As for chaos still being a viable option? Hells yeah!

If you listen to The Doomsayers, then you might as well set your army on fire, and forget that GW ever existed. If you listen to the people who have a degree of sense (or two or five), even on the end of the spectrum for people who still don't like the new 'dex (such as our very own Refuse), then there's still plenty of things to do with your 'dex.

If you're an optimist like me, then you'll still find tonnes of usage out of the 4th ed dex!

It really depends on how you want to view things.

Cheers,

Lawrence.
