Maeklos
I was poking around on the Black Gobbo and really got to liking the new Ork plastic kits that they were showing in all kinds of sweet conversions. Really liking! Really, really liking! So, anyway, for my Iron Warriors I have come up with decent "counts as" models for Berzerkers (mutated Chaos and Loyalist Marines with bionic heads and chainswords for hands, etc) and Plague Marines (thickened armour and shields from the Bretonnian men-at-arms strapped to one arm). I still have left to do Noise Marines and Thousand Sons. I got to thinking that the new plastic Ork flash gitz guns would work great as the guns for Noise Marines. After all, they don't *have* to be sonic-based. They can just be bigger, shootier gunz with more dakka! Or would this work better for TSEQs? Big, heavy guns that would be a burden for the Marines to run around with (hence Slow and Purposeful) but be much more powerful (Inferno Bolts)? Any thoughts would be appreciated, as would any words from someone who's actually (wo)manhandled the Orky bitz and could guestimate if they'd work in Astartes hands as well as grubby Ork mitts. Maladon
Well for my Scourged army, which I'm still in planning stages with, I'm using the t-sloted berserker helm and terminator tabards on marines with the champion's tzeentch shoulder pad to represent them, with the AS being converted from a DA robed body with chaos arms and the Tzeentchian champion head and shoulder pad at least two squads of thousands sons with one AS with the terminator lord force weapon. But been thinking about noise marine conversion lately and put the Scourged on hold for now. Lay
I think Chaos servitors could work as TSons. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/132634-non-thousand-sons-thousand-sons/#findComment-1528054 Share on other sites
Ubermensch Commander
Ya could go the Defiler route on a smaller scale. Man sized Demon Engines. Take a bunch of metal parts, cast off bits of power armor, some big guns, sacrifice some poor schmuck, bind demon, and Voila! Thousand Suns in a Iron Warriors army. There is actually alot of ways you can represent it. Go with what you like the best......or what's cheapest and easiest to pull off! PS I really dig the idea of bulked up almost terminators as representing Siege Troopers(Sappers?) for Iron Warriors. That is a really cool idea and makes me hate Iron Warriors less! Seeing them as less straight jacketed as i used to! PPS-Im really just bitter from back when Iron Warriors got absurd amounts of heavy support and oblits (:cuss???) while the night lords got.........more raptors and bikes. Hoo fricking ray. Also bitter about what the Iron Warriors DID to my marines with obliterators and such. Wounding on a 5+ with chaplain does not make me happy. haha Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/132634-non-thousand-sons-thousand-sons/#findComment-1528068 Share on other sites
Cornelias
i'd go for fancy guns( maybe add the gargoyle from the tank sprue) and BIG shields( i'd suggest arbites ones but with no bitz ordering your kinda outta luck) this would encumber them or could represent a tactical slow march for your slow and purposeful  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/132634-non-thousand-sons-thousand-sons/#findComment-1528086 Share on other sites
