Spacefrisian
I want to make a Soulgrinder which can double feature as a Defiler (Magnets) Does anybody know by any chance know with what it comes with. I believe i saw something like a Autocannon but i'am not sure. BTW i will be making it from a WFB giant and a Defiler, and i might put it up in the WIP section (as defiler of course). Also to note i saw a defiler version of the 2 models put together so its not realy my idea for some part. davidren2401
The defiler comes with a twin linked auto cannon arm and a twin linked heavy flamer arm. It also has a havoc launcher on the sprrue which can be mounted in place of the heavy flamer. DuskRaider
I'm not sure if the Soulgrinder has any ranged weapons, but you COULD use it as a CC Defiler... think about it, 5 attacks base! Sons of Horus
i read somewhere (can't remember where though) that the soul grinder is a formidable foe in CC and ranged combat. i think it was on the GW website. davidren2401
The soul grinder does have a ranged weapon. It's right arm (whether you go with the sword or claw variant) has a number of nasty looking guns protruding from the back of it's hand. It has 3 weapon options (phlegm, tounge and vomit). You have to choose one at the start of battle and stick with it but they're all fairly lethal, tounge is similar to wind of chaos stat wise if I recall correctly. I played against the daemonarmy on friday and it was a fairly impressive vehicle on the field. You weren't specific as to whether you meant the Defiler or the Soulgrinder, so he answered to the best of his abilities and totally appropriately to your post. Just say "thanks." blamb
It's meant to be an unbound defiler isn't is? It looks like it's morphing weapons (oblit style) so you could use it as counts as. Can purchase a weapon that is equivalent to a 24" range Railgun (same S and AP) but it has 50% chance of hitting anything. Can also purchase the Phlegm with 36" Strength 8 AP 3 Assault 1, Large blast and only costs +25pts. Keeps Harvester with this upgrade. Spacefrisian
That last 1 sounds strange but seems a very effective marine killer. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/133979-soulgrinder/#findComment-1547306 Share on other sites
Whoopxi
Also based on that little snipit of information... Notice its not labeled as G36 or Ordinance... so its all or nothing from it until 5th ed comes out when all blasts will scatter. Silent Shadow
I don't think you can use both codexes in conjunction with each other, please tell me I'm wrong though. Maladon
I don't think you can use both codexes in conjunction with each other, please tell me I'm wrong though. That's correct, chaos space marines have lost the ability to summon god specific daemons, only generic lesser and greater daemons. But don't feel so bad, so did the fantasy chaos mortals army, they lost there ability to summon also... Generic daemon for all. :P :D  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/133979-soulgrinder/#findComment-1549264 Share on other sites
Vlâdvar The Destroyer
it would be quiet easy to say a soul grinder can count as a normal defiler, as its already been pointed out, it comes with guns on it right arm, that can count as autocannons, the maw cannon can count as a battle cannon & then all u have to do is add a twin-linked heavy flamer like maybe on the big claw arm (make that magnertized) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/133979-soulgrinder/#findComment-1551497 Share on other sites
Kaptain Von
I don't think you can use both codexes in conjunction with each other, please tell me I'm wrong though. Oh, you can. Provided you and your opponent have paid for enough models to play Apocalypse, anyway. If you're just playing pickup 1500 point games, it's one or the other. One way you could do it regularly is to play 3000 point pickup games: enough to qualify for the Apocalypse rule set, but not enough for crazy expensive nonsense to start appearing.
