BrightStarNova
According To The BackGround, The Marines That Faill A Battle Are Punished, But Those That Succeed In A Mission Are Given Gifts And DaemonHood On That. Is There A Legion That The Lords Do What They Want, And If They Fail A Battle, They Are Not Punished, But They Are Rewarded If They Do Succeed In That Battle On That? On A Side Note, Word Bearers, Alpha Legion, Iron Warriors, And Some Other Legions Seem Interesting On That. Please Reply With Information On That. :/ ;) ** ** Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134110-an-armylegion-question/ Share on other sites
AkiraCho
the legions that are less involved which pleasing only the gods, like alpha legion id imagine are more likely to not be cursed by their failiures however.. their gifts are equally rare i guess too, i mean honestly you cant have all the good without the bad, if you want power you gotta take the risk of Chaos Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134110-an-armylegion-question/#findComment-1543867 Share on other sites
davidren2401
I think the attitudes of a chaos lord to his minions is much like that of King Xercxes in the movie 300. If your captains fail have your weird ogre looking guy chop off their head. That'll learn 'em. And make a good insentive for their replacement. They may punish their fellow heresy era marines less harshly, after all they're looking a bit thin on the ground these days, you start lobbing their heads off left, right and centre and pretty soon you won't have anything but a company of wretched half-breeds. Everything I've read in the Horus Heresy seris suggested that marines (no matter they're stripe) are all majorly arrogant, so I imagine a captain being put on scouting detail for the next decade would hurt more then a barbed lash across the face Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134110-an-armylegion-question/#findComment-1543940 Share on other sites
BrightStarNova
The Alpha Legion Seems Really Cool And Interesting. Also, In The BackGround, What If The Terms Are Stated In The Pact, Before The Battle, And As Such, Say The Marine Fails The Mission, Has To Gather So Many More Souls As Punishment From That, But If He Succeeds, Gains Some Daemonic Gift That Was Negotiated Before The Battle. Would That Be Plausible? An Idea For A Chapter/Legion/Warband Was That Each Mutation Or Gift Was Negotiated On, And As Such, If A Marine Was Going To Get A Mutation Or Gift, That Would Be A Mutation Like Scales Or Wings On That? Also, I Apologize For My Grammar On That, But That Is A Bad Habbit On That. Hellios
Oh? How So? * Basically a Marine (normally a powerful one) will/can make a pact with a warp entity (again often a powerful one) as you say and that pact may require them to preform an act for them and if they suceed they will be given a boon. One the other hand if they fail the warp entity may well be displeased and punish the fool :S Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134110-an-armylegion-question/#findComment-1544341 Share on other sites
