legio daemonis
I just got some stuff in from GW today which I am converting into a DP and I was wondering what size of base do they use?? the monsterous creature sized base or the termie sized one? or does it even matter? b/c the Undivided DP on the GW site looks like it has a termie sized base and the nurgle DP looks like it has a monsterous creature sized base..... Thanks in advanced for any help L.G.D. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134343-dp/ Share on other sites
blamb
the undivided prince comes with a 40mm base (termies). i'm not sure what comes with the nurgle prince but the minimum size is 40mm. you can put it on a larger base but the base can't be smaller than the one it comes with. so you can put your prince on a 60mm base or a 40mm base but none smaller than 40mm. Sception
Rules-wise? 40mm base or larger, as mentioned above. However, I strongly reccomend at least a 60mm base for any monsterous creature. It's bound to be a large impressive model, it deserves a large, impressive base. models with feet hanging off their bases never look good, and chances are you'll want the wider base for stability, anyway. Vomikron Noxis
A winged DP (as any good Prince should be!) definitely belongs on a 60mm base. It's unstable and looks silly on a 40mm base! Khestra the Unbeheld
My guy's sitting fine on a 40mm, but I'm already considering a 60mm just for the better basing surface (thinking of adding an Ultramarine's face under his heel or something equally vengeful). :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134343-dp/#findComment-1550321 Share on other sites

Leethal
I use 60mm base. My friend uses a 80 something mm base. I tell you that thing can cover so much ground it's not funny. Sception
My own daemon prince wouldn't look half so cool without his big, 60mm scenic base: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134343-dp/#findComment-1560806 Share on other sites
