ShinyRhino
Folks are always looking for reliable and affordable bit sellers here in the PC&A, so I figured I'd review my most recent order. I'd been looking for some special weapons for my tactial squads for a while. Plasma/melta/flamer combos, as well as missile launchers seem to be beyond my meager wallet levels via eBay or the War Store. I discovered that Nate over at BitKingdom sells entire tactical wargear sprues for an amazing price. I also recently got the majority of a Rhino on eBay for a good price. But, I wanted to field a Whirlwind as support for my army. Again, BitKingdom had just the Whirlwind sprue for a great price. Beats other competitors by about 30%. I was leery about the ordering setup for the site, however. The crew never seemed to be on their online chat program, and I didn't like the look of installing third-party software to place an order online. I subscribed to the BitKingdom newsletter, and through it learned that you could now start the order process via email. So, I finally placed my order that way, using Paypal to fund the transaction. At the time, the store's catalog listed Whirlwind sprues as "Sold Out." I was willing to wait, as I didn't need the parts immediately. Nate responded to my email promptly, and addressed my issue with the backordered Whirly turrets. I lucked out, as he'd just gotten his weekly bulk shipment in, and happened to have some overstock of these after filling his backorders. He provided the procedure for submitting my order via Paypal, and also a confirmation email when he mailed out my order, along with the USPS tracking number. I had my parts within a few days, due to timing, luck and good weather (go USPS!). Overall, I'd rate the order as a 5 out of 5. Great communication and customer care. Great prices. Bravo! I'd recommend anyone looking for sprues or bits give it a shot. Nate seems to be responding quickly to past messed ups I've seen here at the B&C. Read the store's website thoroughly, and understand how his stocking process works. Then consult with him before placing your order. Pretty simple. Grond
Good to here...by the way, he(they) just updated the website today, so there are updated lists of what he has online Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134440-a-bit-kingdom-order-review/#findComment-1547877 Share on other sites
Rindaris
I have ordered twice from Bit Kingdom now. Got my stuff very fast and cheaper then I would have had to pay in the store. Definitely a welcome alternative. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134440-a-bit-kingdom-order-review/#findComment-1547948 Share on other sites
Arschbombe
I found the ordering process to be awkward, but it worked. Communication was a little spotty, but I got what I ordered fairly quickly even the backordered items. He only charged me once for shipping even though my order required two separate mailings. ducki3x
I just got my first shipment today, and thought the whole thing went pretty well - I'll certainly give him a look for my next order. The order-by-email system did seem a little awkward, but not too burdensome. Nate himself was very friendly and helpful, both during chat when I was asking about the service and keeping me informed of the status of my order. The packaging was a little thin and beat up on arrival (manilla envelope with some bubble wrap around the sprue), but nothing was damaged. The only real hitch was the USPS which sent the (clearly addressed) package to a similar named city in WI, not WA, but that's not his fault. Grim_Reaper46
I am Nate Slater, the owner of Bitkingdom. Thank you all for the comments, and shiny rhino I appreciate your feedback for starting a thread about Bitkingdom. We have added B/C forums as one of our sponsor's on our front page. I hope I can answer all the questions you may have. It is a honor to serve you all. Why the "awkward order system"? We would have a shopping cart, and making things much more simpler for you all. As for Gamesworkshop policies we are not allowed to distribute any of their products through a shopping cart. So we are doing our best to work around this rule. As for Meebo~ our online chat system. If I don't reply, it's not that I am ignoring you in anyway. I'm away from the desk, packaging orders, doing inventory, or out of the store etc.. just simply leave a reply with your email, and what questions you may have. The email our ticket system use's is bitkingdom66@gmail.com Thank you, -Nate Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134440-a-bit-kingdom-order-review/#findComment-1548395 Share on other sites
chr0899933
Hi Nate, do you ship to anywhere around the world? Peredyne
The ordering system feels a little awkward, but there are ways for the end-user to make it easier. I placed my first order today, and I just surfed through the website and when I found the parts I wanted, I copied and pasted the catalog entry to a notepad instance. Once I had all of the items I wanted, I put my name and mailing address into the notepad and then copied and pasted that into an email to Bit Kingdom. Sent it off and got a response in about three or four hours. It may not be the most streamlined system in the world, but I have no real complaints about it. Foolio_Displasius
Yep, I ordered via email too. I haven't gone back and placed a second order yet, but my first went pretty darn well. Free Spirit
Thnx for the good review. I, like many other gamers, are scouring the internet for other sources of bits now that GW foolishly left their bitz mail order. I think Nate's prices and choices are ace (would like to see more blood angel stuff though :D ). Let's just hope shipping to Holland won't be a problem... Arschbombe
I just noticed in the current WD that bitkingdom is listed as a new retailer. I don't see the other e-tailers in there. Pinky Narfanet
I'd guess that's because the Bit Kingdom's busily working on a shop. I stopped by their location today (it's only a couple miles from my house), met Nate and had a look around. Things look a little rough right now, but the guy has got some serious plans and I can't wait to see it all put together. Now to figure out what my first order should be... dahlberg66
Wow. I was using a ebay store that I thought had great prices on the bits I needed Like SM Jump Packs @ 9.25 for 5 but Nate has them for 3.99 for 5 plus a lot of the other bits are mostly cheaper buy a buck or two. Nate consider yourself to have a new customer on my next bit order. Hally
I've never really needed services like these, but seeing a store like this; replacing the lost bitz store, international shipping, fantastic prices, fast shipping.. It's just fantastic. I'll probably get some stuff from you upon my next load of minis  EDIT: And some of the names are hilarious :thanks: LEPRECON MIDGET http://www.bitkingdom.com/pictures/chaos/chaos-lord/lord14.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134440-a-bit-kingdom-order-review/#findComment-1580029 Share on other sites
tagg
Sorry to resurrect a dead topic but can anyone tell me how reasonable their shipping rates are? I read somewhere $75 and over its free but I don't want to order that much the first time I use them. Pinky Narfanet
It's not dead. It's resting. Shipping charges vary. Check out the Blog update for April 18th. It's pretty much at the bottom of the page. Nate gives an overview of his policy there. Bjornas
Does anyone have experience of ordering from europe? I payed my order with paypal about three weeks and haven't heard anything since. Sent a message through the feedback site earlier this week and immediately got "thanks for ordering I'll get back within 24 hours" and another mail including the bits I ordered and his paypal address (same as the "first" mail I got when I first ordered) in my mailbox, but didn't hear anything more after that. I don't have a problem with the order taking time to arrive, since it's being sent to another continent after all, but I'd still like some confirmation on that the money's been received or that the stuff's been shipped. Again, anyone had experience of this? /Bjornas Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134440-a-bit-kingdom-order-review/#findComment-1701203 Share on other sites
