A Bit Kingdom order review...

Recommended Posts

So even given the mixed bag reviews on this thread I went ahead and threw in a bulk order (9 basilisks and 10 rhinos) yesterday.

I will update once we see how this plays out.

Ok so one complaint so far.

Apparently they're moving their phsical store location so orders from last week are not being shipped out promptly.

My only gripe about this is customer service related, as I feel like this ought to have been disclosed when the orders were taken, not after the fact, since presumably this was a planned event.

Ok stuff received today (4/17).

Everything arrived with only one minor issue (missing two of the Space Marine Vehicle upgrade sprues for the rhinos) not a huge deal and I doubt I'll bother making a stink about it but worth noting.

So I'll confirm the prior reviews, its not super fast so you won't be scrathcing any sudden buy urges with them. I also go the feeling that my stuff got shipped when it did specifcally because I called that day to check (monday, 4/13).

So I'd recomend Nate's store (bitkingdom.com and plastickrack.com) with only the caveat that its worth a bit of effort to reach out to him to get your stuff in a timely fashion.

Now to get to work on this pile of sprues sitting on my floor, a new IG regiment awaits!

I've no experience with bitkingdom but have found thecombatcompany.com.au to give a good service. The bits I ordered came in a variety of bags, and the veterans box sets I ordered came in original shrinkwrap. The whole lot was packed securely in a box with a good collection of foam beads. I've just placed another order now. My good experience may be due to my being based in Australia and I'm not sure how international orders would go, but Oz/NZ members might take note.

Yes, but is that place cheap like bitkingdom?

I ordered about $56 worth of stuff on March 26th and I'm still waiting. I'm pretty sure this is because of the move, but frankly, having to wait a month to get $50 worth of stuff is ridiculous. I've ordered from them before, and had no problems... but I'm guessing he's really busy or something and a huge wave of orders came at him just as he started moving. I've called him twice and he said that he'd ship my stuff out last friday the first time and then next monday when I called him today. I'm not sure what's going on.

It's not because of the move. You have to keep on calling. What did you buy...bits or whole kits?

I also placed an Order back in Feb. Received 90% of it within 2 weeks. The rest I've been patiently waiting, contacting/calling 1/week. Last night I sent him a final email, and the rest of my shipment is in the mail now with tracking, plus he dropped in a bit extra.

I'd hope this is a one time issue due to the move, but at least he is trying to make things right. Personally, I'm willing to give him another chance; I just won't expect the product the next day (I didn't with the first order). He is very friendly and personable, and he seems to take his customer service policy straight from GW.

Hmm...I was going to check with him to see what he has in stock today but his website seems to be down. It's redirecting me to a company called Welch Products.

Just called him...he says they are redoing their website right now. Might be down for a day or two.

Still waiting on my orders. Called him last week and had the items that were keeping the shipment back replaced with some other stuff of equal value that he had in stock. Told me like always that he'd hopefully be able to send the stuff tomorrow.

Have yet to receive a shipment confirmation e-mail.

It's been 51 days so far.

Sounds like what I've been going through. I ordered a codex, can of purity seal, and a bunch of dice from him on April 7th. sent him multiple emails, none of which have been relied to. I've spoken with him on the phone numerous times. Apparently all of the dice were out of stock, so i had him ship what he had. That stuff finally showed up two days ago. Never received shipping confirmation or tracking info even though I asked for it several times.

Still waiting on the dice.

If I hadn't been stuck in the hospital off and on for the last month taking care of a sick wife, I would have been pursuing this more aggressively. This is by far the *WORST* online shopping experience I have ever had. I understand that he's inundated with orders while trying to move into a new store, but his priority should still be on his customers who have already given him money. I've been waiting just over a month for my stuff, it shouldn't take this long to get ANYTHING these days.

Interesting to watch the progression of this thread since I started it oh-so-long ago. I think the main problem was the lack of a business plan at startup. Nate got too popular, too fast, and then tried to expand with gimmicky website hit generators like $30 Baneblades, with only three in stock. Add into that the complexity of tryign to run a brick-and-mortar store, and you're left with a big old mess.

I've since migrated to a couple reliable eBay bit sellers for my bit buying impulses. Easier to order, and you know the stuff is in stock.

They moved their physical location a little while ago, and have been busy setting that up. if I remember the email newsletter right, they were also dreadfully behind on bitz and kit orders, so were stopping incoming orders until they caught up, and reset themselves for better customer service.
