A Bit Kingdom order review...

Recommended Posts

The ones who are waiting on stuff...have you received them yet? It's been two weeks.

Also, those $30 Baneblade promos with 3 units only. I DON'T believe it actually happen! If there is not enough funds to stock inventory for immediate shipment how can there be funds to do the promo. And more importantly what's the point of doing the promo? It's not like there is lack of publicity for the shop.

I think I can safely conclude that it's the lack of funds! That's why you have to prepay before he can order what you need. There's just no money to stock inventory.

This is my guess. Combine this with GW's odd ordering system restrictions (one order per week or somesuch), and you've got a steady formula for backlogging and lack of capital. I think GW's attempts to squeeze out other mail-order venues might be taking its toll on BK.

Still waiting on my dice...

Ordered on 4/7/09

Luckily, (I guess) I'm very new to the hobby and don't really need the dice right this minute as I'm still painting my first army. But I have the sinking feeling that I may NEVER see my items without having to put way more effort into this than I should have to for such a low ticket order.

Still waiting, but according to his post on Plastickrack he's "taken care" of my order already. Not sure if that means that he's shipped it or what, though... I never got a shipping confirmation e-mail.

See here is what is confusing. What's the point of having two or three different websites? Especially if you are having problems with running one. What's the point to plastickrack? How about bitswap? Either the business plan is really flawed or something fishy is going on.

I've given up buying here as it's not worth the effort saving very little money in exchange for so much hassle.

Nate called to confirm my order of one of the $30 Monoliths which he told me he had 10 in stock on the shelves. That was on my way home from Adepticon, April 4th. He asked again for my receipt number on May 4th and said he had "recorded" it May 8th but I am pretty convinced I will never actually get it.

I drove by, but didn't stop, the other day. I talked to him a few days before that. Nate's car was in the lot of the new store. I've been reluctant to go by because the wife's been out of work for awhile now--and the temptation is great. Anyway, I know that the move has been difficult for him and he's run into some snags--what those are wouldn't be my place to describe even if I knew what they were.

Barring significant personal problems (I've got a funny feeling creeping up on me), I'll try to swing by and point this one out to Nate again this weekend.

If anyone has specific questions relating to their order, they can drop them into my mailbox. I don't need much information, just your question and the order number (or contents of your order if you don't have the number) and your name.

I do not need any bank/credit card information.

Did anyone notice it's been a month since he stopped taking orders? Maybe some close by can go there and take a few pictures of the actual shop and the amount of inventory that he has.

I stopped by earlier this evening and chatted for a while. With his permission, I grabbed a couple shots with my cellphone. The links are to my photobucket account.

Stacks of some40k boxed sets.

Nate by the Codex shelf.

GW Paint stand.

There is actually quite a bit of inventory (not all of it power armor-related or even focusing on GW). But the store is not fully stocked yet. There have been some "behind-the-scenes" delays which is why he hasn't been accepting more orders online, but he is selling to us locals.

Wow...reading this rise and fall was quite interesting. I notice that the site has been down for months and that isn't encouraging. I wish him luck, but it doesn't take much to make a gamer on a budget gunshy. I'd rather spend $15 and get what I ordered than spend $10 on the same thing and potentially lose it after tons of trouble. The WarStore is good enough for me.

Up maybe.. But the 'running' bit remains to be seen. I doubt it could be called running with the experiences i've read and had. Nate bit off too much too fast and couldn't man up and say it. That's the long and short of it in my eyes. There are other services out there, some even . Nate is a good guy, I consider him a friend, but I wouldn't do business with the man.
