Brother Nihm
The newest Codex is for the upcoming WH40k 5th ed. rules - so no new Codex (bar C:Legions) in the forseeable future. davidren2401
They're right, for proof I direct you to the Nurgle daemon weapon, carefully worded (a rarity in any chaos dex) so that when 5th comes it will start wounding on a 2+ instead of a 4+ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134638-ccsm-5th-ed/#findComment-1550103 Share on other sites

Black and White
Why would the nurgle weapon wound on a 2+? It clearly states poisoned attacks that wound on a 4+. davidren2401
Because in 5th ed Poisioned Weapons are becoming a universal special rule (The upcoming Dark Eldar and Daemonic Legions make use of them too) and the universal special rule will be the latter printed and thus over ride the codex. Corrupted
Were going to get a re-roll not wound on 2+. If the str of the wielder of the daemon weapons is >= the toughness of his opponent he will gets re-rolls, other wise it wounds on a 4+. Which is still awesome IMO, its like having lightning claws in every situation which the current daemon weapon doesn't help, and still being to wound a big bug on a 4+. It almost makes up for force weapons not working on hive tyrants any more. Ju'kosian
Similair, obliterators have twinlinked flamers, I don't know what the hell that's for. 5th edition codex is the current one. chillin
Similair, obliterators have twinlinked flamers, I don't know what the hell that's for. - TL flamer means you get to reroll to wound. Souchan
See now, one of the bigger hints is the fact that taking a land raider as a dedicated transport for Termie's is no longer scoring, where as in 4th pretty much every codex with dedicated Land Raiders had this addendum. With no vehicles ever being scoring anymore in 5th, well that rule doesn't need to be there  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134638-ccsm-5th-ed/#findComment-1552174 Share on other sites
styx
Well, at least Chaos will do well in the scoring "Troops". As the word has come down that if at least one model is alive it is scoring. With our unit sizes up to 20, you can do some mean stuff to take objectives and be impossible to wipe down for scoring outside of Necrons, Orks, Nids and Guard. The last three just have so many bodies and Chaos and Necrons with the 3+, crons also with that WBB. Brother Nihm
It certainly looks that way. We also have access to large PM squads with nasties like powerfists. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134638-ccsm-5th-ed/#findComment-1552212 Share on other sites
Souchan
Don't overestimate powerfists, if the current rumour stays a PM champion with PF will only have 2 attacks(barring the PM's charging). A full on 20 man PM squad on an objective in cover is still terrifying though :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134638-ccsm-5th-ed/#findComment-1552219 Share on other sites

A full on 20 man PM squad on an objective in cover is still terrifying though :( THat is now a confirmed kill of the power fist(that will render a power fist useless to a single attack sgt).... confirmed on boLS. Souchan
PF rules will be bad for Templars... though maybe I shouldn't post this here? Brief reply to this and you can find more concerning that in the BT section, but quite simply, while templars will indeed only have a single attack when we get charged, the new preferred enemy rules (which we if the rumor stays the same will now be a bargain) will actually give us an intense boost :P Getting back to the topic of chaos, well not only do they have their 5th codex already, daemons are here/on the way and a lovely rumour that they plan legion codex as well(one big one? several little ones? who knows). Their 5th looks sweet^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/134638-ccsm-5th-ed/#findComment-1552607 Share on other sites

Best to abandon all hope for a release within the next two years anyway, Codex Legions won't be here for a long time with all the other 'dexes that need fixing first...
