Dreachon
I'd say get more marines, with 5th looming on the horizon your gonna need everybody you can get your claws on. chillin
Well you do need some movement, so I would suggest a rino. I used to like the defiler, but I haven't had one last past round 1 lately. So if my opponent gets 1st turn the defiler doesn't even get to fire it's weop. 150 pts is too much for something that does nothing 1/2 the time, so I stopped using them. See I put my vehicles behind terrain when its there :> or or get a land raider its like a rhino but bigger and better :> + can be used to transport terminators if you wish. Maelekor the Wanderer
I wouldn't go for any of them. Dreads are unreliable. Defilers are good, but are a priority target and tend to die fast. Plus they don't tend to get their points back. A battle cannon is tempting, but until 5thed where all partials hit, I wouldn't go for one. Rhinos are alright and are probably on the horizon for you, but as a lone armoured unit they are soft. I would recomend a Predator Tank as it would add accurate fire that can take both infantry and tanks. Gideon Bane
With that particular load out a Rhino or some Raptors might be a good idea. Buying jump pack bits in most places and a regular marine squad would get you twice the number for the same price or less too. Roultox
If your getting -any- armored vehicles you have to consider something. Either you have numbers to take hits for lascannon and similar fire, youve got some terminators so that will lessen the fire on your vehicles somewhat until they fall down. So if you get a bunch of things high AP needs to kill, then that will be effective. However splitting your army up isnt advised much so when considering a rhino transport, you should go heavy mechanised if you get any rhinos. So, 2 rhinos I would suggest or none. If you like melee, get icons in your units and headlong into battle with rhinos and teleporting terminators. If you prefer ranged with the melee backup, I suggest more marines. However you seem set on a large vehicle of some sort, and a defiler will come in handy in table quarter games and long table edge games with enough terrain to make use of a mobile battle cannon so a defiler I would go for. Just remember to use terrain and distance, otherwise run it along with your units for a melee charge if the enemy is mostly melee as well and you have superior melee. (I suggest extra close combat attacks, because lets face it, a reaper RAC or a spendy TLLC isnt enough to keep a fleeting "dread" back) So 2 rhinos / another box of marines / defiler are my suggestions in that order. chillin
See I put my vehicles behind terrain when its there :> - so do I and everyone else. A defiler still dies to quick for my taste, esp against an army with decient-good hvy weop power. Too bad I like the model ^_^ , when we start playing 5th with the 5+ invul for vehicles in cover I'll try it again, otherwize it goes the way of my dread.
