Eberious
Thanks N.O.C, I do plan to play with them and I'm sure my mate will be up to have a battle with them in it. He would probably love the chance to try and smash my home growen units into the ground. But he like wysiwyg games really. I doubt that if I took them down to the local GW they would say pretty cool, but youre not playing with them....at least with the JP mod. But I suppose its up to the other player if he wants to or not. These would be the rules, 12" move 6" assualt So normal movment well in fact ....they would just follow the standard rules but they have JP's. And any rules for what ever they are armed with. Maybe if moving over or landing in difficult terrian on a roll of a 1, they then have to take armour save of maybe a 5+ to survive. Being in harder armour and being VET's. wiplash
wouldn't say an armour save but half next turns moving distance, i mean although they are heavy and more bulky this is overweighed by te fact that the armour is more superior Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/135946-holy-emperora-flying-terminator/page/2/#findComment-1569450 Share on other sites
Thorvald
Cool conversions, a very novel idea and as always well executed, can't wait to see the JP Dread. Midas
This is a most excellently executed conversion. Why cant you have Jump Packin Terminaters? Any sergeant can do it. Right? Eberious
Thanks all. @wiplash, do you mean that if I was to roll a 1 or 2 then they could only move half the distance instead of dying if failed to be saved by his armour? If so that I think might make to Uber, I do prefer a draw back as makes the game more exciting plus I wouldnt think the enemy player would agree. Cause at the moment (I think) if you roll a 1 moving thru difficult terrian with JP's you die without any kind of save. I may have mis-understood you. @Midas, I think the reason we dont get JP'ing Terminators is that...well uber unit and nearly everyone would probably take them meaning games would probably be over quickly making the game repetive, killing off a lot of newcommers or vets of the game. But if you play at home and your mates enjoy wysiwyg, or testing new units or characters then you can. Don't have my dex with me but I think only IC who have access to the armoury can select them, as seargents are part of squads which cant take JP's, well unless assualt SM's. Anyways back to project, will be working on the 3rd tonight after having a wee break. So should have some more pics. Eberious
Well, that was a long break....only a year or so. Been distracted by another war game. Decided to do some 40k modeling and thought I'd finish up my 5 man strong flying terminator assualt squad. This one has a little more detail as making him the captain type person, the one with the helbard will be sarge. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03150.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03151.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03153.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03154.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03156.jpg The greenstuff looks a bit untidy, some small cutting adjustments to do and a good paint job will cover it up. ;) Currently working on the last 2 guys, both will be weilding thunder hammers. C&C welcome. Forgot to say, it had been that long since I made the jump pack I had to use my own "how to do it" guide on page 1...lol  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/135946-holy-emperora-flying-terminator/page/2/#findComment-2004593 Share on other sites
Drudge Dreadnought
If it hasn't been mentioned already, this would be a great way to represent fleet in a shrike army. cathar the great
The idea is so cool and the double jumpbacks just look badass. Can't wait to see the complete squad! marine
That way if anyone says you can't have jump packs on termies you can just say that's how they drop into battle. :D that would be the easiest way if the opponent won't play against them Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/135946-holy-emperora-flying-terminator/page/2/#findComment-2004749 Share on other sites

koran
The position of both those terminators is really nice, very dynamic. Admittedly I hate the idea of a jumpack terminator and Im constantly surprised by a forum that's so strict in only allowing power armour then throws fluff out the window seems to love things like this that make no sense. No offence. So yeah, LOVE the position/dynamic pose but think it would looke 100x better without the jumppack. Eberious
Thanks all, @Koran, fair enough, not to everybodys taste. But I think if we couldn't have a little fun on the forum, it would be a dull place. :D. As said at the start its just for fun as got so many standard Termies... which you might like actualy, same kinda poses but without the JP's, I'll try and dig out the thread. Here it is. enjoy http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...amp;hl=Eberious Was thinking over last few days after getting back into things, that I'm goning to try for a retuine type group. Consisting of x2 Lit-claw, x2 T-hammer, the helbard guy as the "standard" guys so sarge and 4 troops. Then the guy above as the IC and a Chaplin. Don't know what to give the Chappy in the way of weapons yet. "QUOTE (Doghouse @ May 11 2008, 12:25 AM) That way if anyone says you can't have jump packs on termies you can just say that's how they drop into battle. that would be the easiest way if the opponent won't play against them " Or that they have been spending far to much time with the Raven Guard and they needed the BT termies to move faster?, but thats just fluff. But serious game play for legality then yeah would agree. Doghouse
Great to see this log up and running again, always thought it was a really cool idea. Cheers doghouse, thought it was about time I finished them. The sence you describe is exactly what it is, around the back veiw the CSM has 2 massive holes in his armour from lit claw entry, half a left arm, few impacts from battle damage and yeah..no head, so the terminator totaly owned this traitor. Any ideas what I could give the Chaplin? Hfran Morkai
"Sure, you can jump pack your terminators, but I'm jump packing my vindicator :P "Those Best quote ever! Nice work. One problem using it as rules for a drop pod is that there is no actual dro pod and your opponent might get annoyed as thats one less kill point to claim (My group doesnt count transports as kill points as it seems wrong) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/135946-holy-emperora-flying-terminator/page/2/#findComment-2005310 Share on other sites
earthen
this would be an amazing way to model fleeting termies that infitrate with shrike, which i know alot of people do. They dropped into battle, they didnt infiltrate! good way to explain the movement bonus from fleet too. since fleeting termies, well... just doesnt usually make too too much sense. koran
Eberious, your right and I apologise... I wish I had seen your other thread first and just commented on that (VERY nice stuff by the way). I just see a lot on this site that has so much potential but people let "silly" ideas go by without saying anything leaving the author worse off. I can see now that obviously this is just a bit of fun and you totally realise what your doing and this isnt how you go about putting together your armies as standard. Eberious
so is he getting a jump pack too yup, just wip. Haven't got around to the JP yet. Would't want my medic to get left behind, that would just be mean. Forgot to give a little break down, custom built arm equipment from various parts, still to add one more tool to the arm. Also took the hip equipment from the SM apoth and added to hip plates. Can't see it really as primed black, as taken from models already built but never used. A little radar above his head to his right taken from DA upgrade spure for speeders. A BT axe blade for the gun CC weapon and the rest is ..well standard. And a Greenstuff apothecary symbol which turned out pretty well, may add another to his leg. Any thoughts from anyone if I should add the SM on the base as to give him a reason for being down on his knee or does it detract to much from the terminator himself. Will probably try and sink the SM a little lower so he doesnt block LOS to the work done on the legs. Will prob paint him Imperial/crimson fist if I add him. Any other chapter and I would fly right past...lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/135946-holy-emperora-flying-terminator/page/2/#findComment-2007678 Share on other sites
Pig Of Sparta
This is a great 'crazy idea'. I love the Sarge, Captain and LC termie! Very characterful and individual.
