Zeller
Isn't it funny that an apothecary's tools can puncture power armor for medical purposes as easily as anti-tank weapons? That is a hulking termy. Why the blade on the apothecary? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/135946-holy-emperora-flying-terminator/page/3/#findComment-2009583 Share on other sites
biggassmonkey
Stumbled upon this today, and saw the little discussion about jump packing Dreads. I made an attempt earlier in the year using a MKIV Venerable Dread from forgeworld, i'm no sculptor and it was my first real conversion project, but i think it came out fairly well, thought i'd post it in here to maybe give you a bit of inspiration on how to achieve that "Flying lump of metal" army feel ;). some (really bad) pics below for some idea's on Assault Jumping Dreads This first little bit is my dread Assault Pack, basically taking the vendred power plant, hacking off the middle two exhausts, and mounting an array of five jump jets, with the removed exhausts placed below, and two stabiliser wings (Tau gun drone Aerials), and then filling in area's with green stuff (badly i'll admit) http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/Shad0w_fury/DSC00326-1.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/Shad0w_fury/DSC00327-1.jpg below is what it looks like on the finished and painted model, again my apologies for really bad pictures, though it doesn't look all that much better in person sadly :/ http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/Shad0w_fury/DSC00339.jpg note that there are also jump jets mounted on the rear of the legs. i'm sure someone with your (obviously superior to mine) skill would be able to do it better :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/135946-holy-emperora-flying-terminator/page/3/#findComment-2010016 Share on other sites
Eberious
wait is that an apothacary? It is indeed my friend. @Zeller, that is a good point never really thought aboit that way before. Would make a potentiel potent CC weapon maybe. Regarding the blade on the gun, well hes with a CC squad so hes going to get into the melee with the enemy, figured I'd give him a sharp weapon to acompany his power/chainfist. Eberious
Looks good, kinda hard to tell the details (as you said bad pics) but that was somthing along the lines of what I was going to do. Eberious
I feel like I'm bumping my thread, but I'm not honest..just a little update. My Chaplins weapons. 2 power fists. The right fist made from a left fist, With built in "POP OUT" blades or whatever the actual things are called. Left fist has attached twin plasma gun/pistols. 2 modes. Mode 1. Twin shot pistol range. Mode 2. 1 shot plasma gun range http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03206.jpg Power maul(thunder hammer). With extra large spikes, pretty scary stuff huh. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03207.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03208.jpg Can't see to well as recycled terminator and..you can see. Will probably stick some purity seals on there and maybe a little broken chain to represent the whole BT weapon chained to wrist thing. Would explain why he has POP out blades, as if he gets his maul knocked out his hand(as no chain to swing it back into grabbin range when bogged down in CC) then its crazy stabin time with the force of a power fist. Of course they would just count as Pfists on any attack, blades more of a nice touch thing. Eberious
Thanks Grik Friox, tried to perfect it last night witha MK2 version. But it failed to fit the terminator. Anyways time for a upadate, heres what I got of the Chaplin so far. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03213.jpg C&C welcome, again greenstuff messy. The glue got every where and messed it up(that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). Eberious
Well my chunky Chaplin is done. May of gone a little over board with bling, but then hes a Chaplin hes got to have bling. Did try my hand at greenstuffing the little skeletons and wings you usualy get on Chaplins but dint work and kept on putting my finger in it. So thats why it looks s messy. All hidden with a good paint job. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03222.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03220.jpg Good shot of the dual plasma gun and CC blade. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03224.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC03223.jpg as always C&C welcome Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/135946-holy-emperora-flying-terminator/page/3/#findComment-2021802 Share on other sites

Waste of some jetpacks though... but its still super dope! My friend (who is more out than in for 40k) has been talking about a jetpack Dreadnought for years now, and its finally good to see one that someone has done. The way you've assembled the pack look perfectly fine, in my opinion of course, except for those two little 'thrusters' at the bottom, they don't look like they'd do much. And if your Termies are taking 4 Assault thrusters, I would personally think a Dread would need a couple more than 5. Don't get me wrong, yours looks awesome, and this thread is amazing, I just would have executed the awesomeness a bit differently. :) That chaplain is one mean looking SOB too by the way. If I had the skill, talent, MONEY, and patience...I would definitely be copying you. Great stuff Eberious.
