GW's official Chaos FAQ is now up

The wording about not being allowed transports like cavalry.

It kinda looks like it misses a line and they haven't said something can't go in transport in that way before.

though having seen the daemon book where they explain why juggernauts are infantry, i can see that they would be with a marine on their back.

I dunno, it makes sense to me. They can't go in transports, just as if they were calvarly. Does that really need clarified?

But why cavalry, why not jump infantry or mostrous creatures.

And have you seen similar wording before in regards to being able to go in transports.

I would have been shocked if it didn't, but, as you say, the important part is that its functioning is now beyond dispute.

Swilling a snifter of vindication, Mr. Cale? :D

Just a little. ;)

Yeah, that's fair. It's an odd way to write the rule. Still, the functioning seems clear enough. It can't go in transports. It doesn't really matter why. The fact that they liken it to cavalry seems reasonable enough, since it is a guy on a big cow-thing, but they could have given any excuse and the result would have been identical.

So with lash (for example), the target unit is spread 10" back. Roll 2D6 lash forward 4", the last man back can only be moved up 4" or the entire unit moved forward regardless ...

"executed exactly like a normal move..." so, just like with a normal move, each guy can move up to the 4" rolled, they must maintain coherency, etc.

I may not be him, but I felt the same way when I first brought up the idea that plasma cannons instagib swarms 2 for 1.

What I've found people asking is, "can a daemon prince catch a ride then?" and the answer is still no, because monstrous creatures can't fit in transports.

And when 5th came out, the clarification of DP using two shooting psy powers will become obsolete, if it´s true that MC will only be able to shoot one weapon on the move.

Unless some future FAQ maintain the two shooty powers on the DP as an exception... But I think it´s unlikely...

Yeah, it isn't quite complete.
None of the FAQs or even codexes are 100% bullet-proof complete. It looks to me like GW might be taking a different tack with FAQs now... the new 40K and WHFB have originated from the community and judging from the style, I'm expecting much more frequent FAQsing.

This is encouraging.

Call me cynical but one FAQ that didn't even cover glaring issues like the disagreement over warptime or the chosen champ plasma pistol/power weapon controversy released about half a year after this trainwreck of a codex isn't exactly "keeping your finger on the pulse of the gaming community" I mean hey, all it takes is a friggin webpage, and I would be willing to bet that the whole site is based off of existing templates so all they have to do is plug some sentences into dreamweaver (before anyone mentions that their FAQ's are PDF files, yeah I know that but wouldn't a php or xml or whatever gw uses be just as good?)
About the MoT and bikes; this FAQ is most likely meant for 5th edition, so not having to write a second FAQ within weeks of the first (ie, taking out that part because it's pointless) saves time.

If that's the case, the whole MC's can only shoot 1 weapon gossip is probably untrue since this FAQ mentions that MC's can shoot two weapons..

T6 bikers ?? sweet, Now I can paint my bikers ^_^

and winged lord in a rhino/landraider/transport.. Sweet..
