BFG... Well here goes :) - and the marine bits... 7.2.2012

Well first off, I think this falls in a gray area, so I'm going to post this and see how it goes. I'm working on a combined SM and IN fleet using the Armageddon list for BFG. I know there was some heated discussion on if a chapters PDF was allowed discussion, but since this is more of a single unified fleet tied to and under the command of the Marines, I think I'm allowed to post these. So far I've finished the entire fleet except the Emepror class battleship I'm working on and that I hope to complete this week or next week now that I'm into the detailing and finishing stages of the model.

Yup, I love the falchion's look and they aren't too bad as are placement for swords, and thanks these have been a fun change of pace from 40k.

It's been a long time coming, but I finally finished up the minor conversion and painting of the fleet BB which, after I seal it tomorrow, completes my BFG diversion. Back to the Tac squad after this!

NICE!!!!, I do love the IN Battleships, and with the paint job you've done makes it look even better. Will have to paint/repaint my In ships to this kind of colour. As I think to much detail on my In ships have been lost to the dark colour I had chosen. Alos love the detail freehand work on the very front of the B-Ship.

Thanks! I really enjoyed painting up the fleet and honestly it only took about a month, but I got caught up in RL with the BB and didn't get to finish it right away. In case anyone is interested, here is a pic of the entire fleet.

A little update, I've added a few more things while procrastinating on painting layers of khaki again on my marines. These things just paint up so fast it's hard not to work on them since it makes me feel like I'm making progress on my model backlog! That and new models are pretty cheap compared to 40k. So here is the second detachment of the Nesewdjet-Nedjety system fleet.

Hey, thanks!

The hull is a few colors. the hull is drybrushed scab red, light drybrushed blood red, washed with dark flesh, washed with brown ink, and the highlighted with blood red with a few vomit brown touches to make it feel less red. Prows are dark flesh highighted with blood red and vomit brown with bronze trim inked with brown.

Heh heh, careful Vaaish, you might have the entire Armageddon sector's battlegroup at this rate. My fleet has a similar layout to yours, but has an Inquisitorial flavor to it. If you'd like a little Inquisitorial presence, I strongly recommend the Grey Knight Strike Cruiser from Forgeworld. Not very expensive and it's an incredible model. Handy Example

Oh, and the scrollwork on the Aquila prow of that BB is quite nice.

I just wanted to quickly add in that your fleet always makes me want to get back into BFG. A little off topic, but what a great game. I certainly don't understand why GW have apparently abandoned it. Everyone I know who's ever played it has only positive things to say.

Again, super job.

Thanks! I think I still have a ways to go before hitting sector fleet levels. When this second set is finished I'll have 24 capital ships (1 Emperor, 1 Retribution, 2 Vengeance, two each of Mars, lunar, gothic, and Dominator, 6 Torp Dauntless, and 6 Lance Dauntless) and 19 escorts. I'm still debating the Marine component, both the color scheme and if I like the SG models for it or if I want to spend time adapting the forgeworld GK stuff.

I have to say I'm kind of glad GW hasn't updated it too much. The main rule set is pretty tight and most disputes or questions are quickly resolved by reading the relavent sections of the rulebook. It would be nice though if there were a few more supplements.
