boreas
Hi all! Thanks for the encouragement! The Reaver project has been dormant for the last few months. Unfortunately, a new SM army (I had WH, DH and IG before) has taken all my time! Also, Apocalypse has been put aside around here until we get a very firm grasp of 5th ed. November 8 is our equivalent of "Hard Boyz" locally. After that, I will return to building the beast. As for priming, I use Dupli-Color automotive primer. Its a very flat black. It dries thin and is not much affected by humudity. In fact, I now use it for all models I prime black! As for pinning, I use multiple pins instead of a bigger one. Big paperclip provide good pinning if you put 2-3 per joint. When I dry fit my pinning, the pieces can usually hold together without glue. Once satisfied, I glue in place with double-syringe epoxy. One important thing: you have to scrape off the primer and "rough-up" the contact surfaces. Sandwiching glue between primer layers will break as the primer "unsticks" from the part. I got a bit excited while building my Warhound and will probably have to rebuild all major joints...
