WelshMullet
curse my lack of artistic and paintshop tallent. I have awsome ideas, and can visualise them perfectly, i just cant put them to paper! otherwise i may have some pics here too! however, everyone elses work is "le awsome", pardon my french ps. burst of insperation example a snow globe containing the main hive city, on a podium in a dark room, with a power armoured hand reaching out for it from the darkness. Chaptermaster Graymantle
Nice one CMG, she looks alot more practical than the usual IG generals who always seem to be covered in bling. I like the minimalist guard officer look ;)Thanks Reyner! If I make other images of her, she will probably be wearing other more practical gear to, like combat webbing, a soft armour and a Parka. - Suitable for the cold weather on Nestir V. Good one, CMG! Cool picture. I like that she has a serious look on her face, and not the "Angry man with a hat" look that everybody goes for. Thanks Reno!I actually thought about giving her a hat or a beret, but I decided to leave it. curse my lack of artistic and paintshop tallent.I have awsome ideas, and can visualise them perfectly, i just cant put them to paper! otherwise i may have some pics here too! however, everyone elses work is "le awsome", pardon my french ps. burst of insperation example a snow globe containing the main hive city, on a podium in a dark room, with a power armoured hand reaching out for it from the darkness. Just believe that you can do it, but know that it takes time. Would be cool if someone made that image though. I may even have a go at it myself once I'm done with the other images Ive planned. Still hoping to see more people make art for the AoD though. Thanks again! Terrible_Trygon
I really like how that Imperial Guard General came out. Though I am not too keen on her fluff. I suppose that is because I have always liked how the Officers of the Imperial Guard and the Chaos Guard keep thousands of troops in line with merely their word and their balls (metaphorically speaking :P). I find Sebastian Yarrick, Anakwanar Sek, Ursarkar E. Creed, the other many great Generals of the Guard to be far more impressive then even Space Marines, Ork Warbosses, Demon Princes, Farseers and the lot in that they demand so much respect, yet are physically no stronger then a normal foot slogger. Simple men and woman with awesome minds and buckets of character. Anyways, personal opinions aside, I like your art style. It is so simple, yet very effective and Grimdark at the same time. I do hope to be seeing more from you. Also do you have a Deviant Art account? Chaptermaster Graymantle
Thank you Terrible_Trygon! :D To better understand her fluff, you need to read the Nestir V campaign stories. Glad you like my style, and you are sure to see more from me in the future, as I have several images planned. I'm afraid I don't have a Deviant Art account, but I have been thinking about getting one for quite some time now, so I will probably get one in the future. Thanks again! Terrible_Trygon
A Deviant Art account would be a good idea. Bolter and Chainsword members with Deviant Art accounts would be able to watch you and automatically get updates when ever you add a piece. Also where are the campaign stories regarding Storm's fluff at? Chaptermaster Graymantle
Sorry about that! - Should have posted story links right away. The stories are all in the AoD sub-forum. There are a lot of them and Storm is not in all of them, but she cameos in quite a few. I'm working on collecting all the stories into an easier format, but it takes time. The best compilations we have so far are the following: A pretty comprehensive list of all the stories: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=143442 Storm's first appearance in the Nestir V Campaign: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=137020 The stories that feature Storm the most - Though she doesn't really feature heavily in this story until part 4: Part 01 Part 02 Part 03 Part 04 Part 05 Part 06 Part 07 The latest stories from round 02. R2B1. Part 01. Part 02. Part 03. Part 04. R2B2. Intro and Battle. In between R2B2 and R2B3. R2B3. - Currently being written. Oh, and finally. Once more, here is the teaser to heighten interest for the Nestir V Campaign: http://www.codexguardianangels.com/nestir_...aod-teaser.html Thanks again for all the interest! Chaptermaster Graymantle
Well, I've been working on another image for Nestir V, and this time it's a patrol and combat run image made for the Guardian Angels' 8th Company. Rather than going the scratch illustration or integrating 28mm minis this time, I went the full 3d and 2d route. Used models available on the net and tweaked them a bit, then textured and set up a scene, made some geometry etc, then post processed the image in Photoshop. All in all, about 10 hours on this one, and most of it is post-processing. - Hope it makes people a bit more interested in both Nestir V and the Guardian Angels! http://www.codexguardianangels.com/nestir_v/nestir-v-guardian-angels-on-patrol.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/137022-artwork-nestir-v-aod-artwork-thread/page/3/#findComment-2081322 Share on other sites

Imperialis_Dominatus
I recall there being a sprue with various Chain-weapons for the Inquisitor game, possible it could be from there? TDA Could be, but it stands to reason that I would have more than one chainweapon for Inquisitor in that case; and I don't.Still, I cant rule it out. I'm actually pretty certain that that chainsaw was from the Inquisitor Chain Weapons pack. They did stop selling them. Shame, I was going to give a Daemon Prince a chainaxe and use a couple of the giant chainsaws for some positively dank Rough Terrain Modifications. Chaptermaster Graymantle
Well, there's an old bit of info back up again. :) And I do believe your right. It disappeared with the awesome bits section GW used to have. To bad really! Using it for terrain is a cool idea! never thought of using parts like that for something like that. Imperialis_Dominatus
Oh, I meant a Rough Terrain Modification on a vehicle. Like a Sentinel's chainsaw, except Leman Russ sized. Chaptermaster Graymantle
Ah, well that would be interesting too. Still think a battlefield filled with huge chainswords as offensive "defences" would be very cool though! :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/137022-artwork-nestir-v-aod-artwork-thread/page/3/#findComment-2086430 Share on other sites
Imperialis_Dominatus
Those defenses would work best if the chainsaws were shot at the enemy... Chaptermaster Graymantle
Well, the Nestir V AoD's Second Round is now over and in the last story, which can be found here, the forces of both sides of the Campaign are fighting in a subterranean Cavern, housing a huge construct known as "The Fort of the Snow Leopard". Getting to and securing this fort and the Machine Spirit within has been the main focus of Round 02, and as I didn't get any sleep last night, I figured I would spend a couple of hours working out a concept sketch of what it may look like once it has been re-activated. I put a Marine and a couple of Rhino's in there for a feeling of how huge this cavern and construct is. So here it is: http://www.codexguardianangels.com/nestir_v/Fort-of-the-Snow-Leopard-Concept.jpg The Nestir V AoD is now on hold, but it will continue again eventually. Hopefully some of the free time I get now that the AoD is paused, can be used towards creating more artwork for the Campaign. WOW! That pic is gorgeous. You need an award for that!@ If video games looked that good, especially a 40k one, I'd end up divorced, and penniless cuz I'd play it till I got evicted and my electric turned off or I died from no sleep. Chaptermaster Graymantle
Thank you dizzy-xc! Wow that is quite a compliment! I hope to make more stuff like that now that I have a bit more time on my hands again. Also, thank you Brother Cambrius. Yes it is big! - I believe the Cavern itself is described in the story as being at least half a kilometer in every direction. Then again it would have to be to house the computer power needed to generate an Ai capable of supervising an entire planet that is four times larger than the earth, as well as it's orbital systems. Oh, and also to house huge battles with thousands of combatants off course. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/137022-artwork-nestir-v-aod-artwork-thread/page/3/#findComment-2252610 Share on other sites

Chaptermaster Graymantle
Thank you everyone! Yogi, I've heard that said before :) My reasoning is that this is just a test shot of the weapon, made during a routine patrol.
